Yeah, I don't think firing Rex would fix any of the Jets' problems. They have a very mediocre QB that needs a really strong running game to carry him, cuz he can't carry the team on 40+ passes. I still lol'd at Dustin Keller getting a pass right in the side of his face on Saturday, though.

sanchez might be a mediocre QB, but the coach who has said mediocre QB throw the ball 59 times also has to be viewed as questionable. sanchez has more passing attempts per game than aaron rodgers, what the hell is the jets coaching staff thinking?

Aaron Rodgers also throws for under 300 yards and still scores 4-5 touchdowns. That's not just him. That entire team is ridiculous. Short fields also help cut down on needed attempts, which that defense has been giving for most of the season.

And yeah, honestly they should've run the ball a LOT more, especially since they were having some decent success. But their run game is still not really stable, so they ended up relying on the short passing game much more.

I think this year's rookies have showed us you just need to play well to play well, not be in the league for however long.

Rex doesn't need to be fired. Wow.

I just think Sanchez needs some work as well as the team.

That doesn't work when their contracts start off for only three years :p

Really happy for the guy. One of the few QBs I enjoy and feel like I could chill with off the field. Down to earth and always doing everything for the team.

It's official, Drew Brees now holds the record for the most passing yards in a single season. I guess the only way for him to top this would be to bump off the Packers and go to the Superbowl.

I've felt the saints are the only team who can seriously challenge the packers in the NFC. They would almost certainly beat the packers in the super dome, but the problem is they have to play them in lambeau.

In the super bowl I feel the Steelers or Patriots would have the best shot of taking out the packers. And for the Patriots to do it, Brady would need to be flawless because rodgers would tear the Patriots D apart. It would probably be a 30+ point game for both teams. I only trust the Ravens if they played green bay in baltimore, which they cant in the super bowl obviously.

After the close games the Patriots have been having?

I have more faith in the Steelers.

If it is the Steelers and Packers again I will not watch the Super Bowl. Period. One, I am sick of seeing the Steelers. Two, we already had that Super Bowl last year. Three, Madonna... Need I say more?

I'd much rather that than other prospects.

It's just the most logical result, based off the information we have. But we all know things don't always go according to predictions.

I think alot of ppl are sleeping on the niners. Granted they have no offense and no real playoff veteran, but i think the Chiefs showed that the Pack can be beat with great defense and just enough offense.

Wouldnt be the first time there was a rematch the very next year in a chamionship game with pittsburgh involved. 2 years in a row the stanley cup was redwings vs penguins. Redwings won the first and the penguins won the second.

Best part of it was Hossa was on the losing team both times :awesome:

Also I'm fairly worried about the steelers if we have to be the wildcard. Not because I don't have faith in them being road warriors again, but that's one less week for Big Ben and Pouncey to heal.

I don't think the 49ers can keep up with the Saints and Green Bay. Heck, even a hot Eli Manning might be too much trouble for the 49ers. You never know when those Giants will revert to 2007 mode if they make it back in.

Plus, the 49ers offense is really boring to watch. Probably one of the least exciting of the 12 playoff teams that will be in there.

I like the 49ers to come out of the NFC, saints could get it done too

I don't trust anyone in the AFC this year to beat any of those three teams. I suppose I'll give the pats the best chance(lolbias) but it is entirely contingent on both brady playing a perfect game, and the defense coming up with a turnover or two because they aren't stopping brees or rodgers from moving the ball at will

@Jem: Last sentence is completely irrelevant.
They showed they can quiet big offenses throughout the season.

Also i agree with etecoon, i think NFC takes it this year. Saints, Pack and 49'ers all look incredible

Also, the 49'ers kicker has the record of most field goals in a single season. I haven't followed many of their games, but that sounds like they were able to get into scoring position but were never able to profit, thus resorting to field goals.

For AFC vs. NFC, there's the "if" situations which could help the AFC teams top the Packers or Saints. "If" Big Ben stays healthy and doesn't get mauled / injured, the Steelers could beat whoever. "If" the Patriots defense can stop Rodgers from scoring points (notice how it's not: gaining yards), then the Patriots could beat whoever.

I don't fully understand how the seeding and all that goes, but what happens if both the Ravens and Steelers win, and the Patriots lose next week? I know the Steelers would be put off to a wild card slot because they got swept by the Ravens, but that leaves the Patriots and Ravens with a 12-4 record, and neither team played each other IIRC. Who would get the first seed?

It would go by division record then. Pats currently sit with a 4-1 division record...so if they were to lose this coming week, they'd be 4-2. Balt right now is 5-0, so if they win, they would sweep the division. Overall, Baltimore would get first seed.

You're implying Pats would lose next week.

Considering the teams stances at this point of the season compared to their previous meeting, I think it's a little easy to say, Bills aren't winning.

Of course, that's the mindset that caused the Pats to lose to them the first time around, but I REALLY don't think they're going to lose. It'll be the usual "Oh ****! Look at how bad they're doing this first half. Opposing team is 17 point ahead." and then "Well **** it, Brody was able to pull that out of his ***. Go figure" and NFL.com ESPN will suck his D a little more.

Bills blew up last week. It's not entirely out of the question.

I really can't see the Saints beating both SF and GB on the road. That said, I think the Niners will take the NFC.

Ill do this from a steelers perspective because its the one i know the best right now. AFC picture:
If the Bengals win, Pats lose, and Steelers win, Steelers are 1st seed, pats 2nd, ravens 5,bengals 6th.
If the pats win instead, pats are 1 steelers 2.

If bengals lose, Steelers are 5 regardless win or loss. Ravens will be 2 if pats win, 1 if pats lose i believe.

Texans are locked into 3, and 4 will be either Denver or Oakland.

If bengals lose, 6th seed could be bengals, titans, raiders, or jets. 6th seed has the most scenarios open right now. Its whacky.

I want the bengals to get the 6th seed because if they do, that means they beat the ravens and give us the chance to win the division and a bye by beating the browns.

I think I'm getting burned out in these pick up football games. My legs feel like they got nothing left lol.

With that being said, playing up to 7 TDs, and coming back down 5-2 always feels good.
