Castlevania definitely needs a good stage addition. I like the one we have but I'd prefer a clock tower, but I guess bayo beat them to it.

Considering Mario Kart 8 DX, Pokken DX (which used the arcade version as a base), and other examples, it'd probably be more akin to the base roster + DLC with maybe a couple additional characters. If they do DLC we could get more, but at base it'd probably be more limited.Or it will be an Ultimate Deluxe, in which case the essential of the work would already have been done. So one way or another, there will probably be "a lot" of newcomers.
18 new characters. Allow me to introduce myself.I feel that the 18 slots in the code don't really mean anything. The next smash game is just that - a new Smash game, it doesn't need to conform to Ultimate's limits. Hell, even in an Ultimate DX they could add more if need be.
That being said, if I had to make a roster with 18 new characters this is what I think it might look like.
- Waluigi
- Ashley
- Vaati/Ganon
- Raven Beak/Sylux
- Designated Pokemon
- Designated Fire Emblem
- Designated Xenoblade (nothing against any of those three series but the frontrunners for these slots don't exist yet)
- K.K Slider
- Octoling
- Akira Howard (Astral Chain)
- Issac
- Rhythm Heaven character (I don't know enough about the series to narrow it down)
- Iori (King of Fighters)
- Demi-Fiend (or some other mainline SMT rep)
- Phoenix Wright
- A Dark Souls/Elden Ring character (once again, I don't know enough to narrow it down)
- Rayman
- Kris (or another Toby Fox character)
Tough call.If you had to give every 3rd party franchise extra stage what will you choose?
considering the number of castles we had before I’m not sure that’ll be too much of a problemCastlevania definitely needs a good stage addition. I like the one we have but I'd prefer a clock tower, but I guess bayo beat them to it.
Imagine if they just did what they did with Mario Kart.Considering Mario Kart 8 DX, Pokken DX (which used the arcade version as a base), and other examples, it'd probably be more akin to the base roster + DLC with maybe a couple additional characters. Give us a few new characters and bring back Smash Run? Like how we got a proper Battle mode, with even some new modes, for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?Imagine if they just did what they did with Mario Kart.
Honestly, Smash Run was fun.Give us a few new characters and bring back Smash Run? Like how we got a proper Battle mode, with even some new modes, for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?
I miss Smash Run...
I mean, it would be something, but I don't think late DLC for Smash would work. For one, Smash Bros. is all about the hype with it's DLC, so focusing on the hype years after release would probably be more of a detriment. Second is with the DLC itself. With Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the DLC majorly focuses on stages and mainly uses assets from other games(MKTour) to bring them to Deluxe. Compared to Smash Bros. where all the DLC would be brand new and made from scratch.
I remember when i was in university we played that more than the main gameHonestly, Smash Run was fun.

That's a possibility, true.Considering Mario Kart 8 DX, Pokken DX (which used the arcade version as a base), and other examples, it'd probably be more akin to the base roster + DLC with maybe a couple additional characters. If they do DLC we could get more, but at base it'd probably be more limited.
One of the reasons I also brought up Pokken. Many Pokemon fans wanted more characters out of it as well, but at base it only provided one actual new character that wasn't from the arcade or Wii U versions. Just because there is a large focus on the roster doesn't mean they'd do a full expansion of newcomers, they can just have the full packaged Ultimate roster plus some extras to sell. That's a possibility, true.
Edit. However, Smash Bros' roster is way more important to the game than Mario Kart's ever was, so I don't think they would use the same approach.
That would require Nintendo to acknowledge the arcade games.Pacman
Blinky, too! He was my main.Honestly the only reason Mario Kart 8 deluxe bothered me so much was because 8's roster sucks compared to other Mario Kart's to me. Even with Link and Isabelle the amount of Koopalings and repeats feels so stupid.
But that seems to be getting rectified with them adding more characters in 8, who knows maybe we'll get the grand return of Rob and Pacman to Mario Kart.

HE WILL ARRIVEBlinky, too! He was my main.
But, uh... I don't think the missus will be on the table, unfortunately...
Should we throw in Mametchi too, at that point? Maybe even give Agumon a try?HE WILL ARRIVE

Metal gear: Mother base from MGS VIf you had to give every 3rd party franchise extra stage what will you choose?
I'm guessing you meant "Smash needs to be live service" and not "needs to be MMO" because that's two completely different things (and Multiversus is not an MMO).Smash ultimate was well ultimate it basically included almost everything you can ask for far as characters and stages, so how can you top that? Here Is the only way you can top it imo:
- Smash needs to be an mmo like multiversus except it needs to learn from it's mistakes.
- have enough content when released other then just characters
- Graphics match the high standard that smash has in the past
- Price for characters and skins stay reasionable like there current dlc 5 a character and 1 or 2 for skins are pretty affortable
There is many ways you could start this but I am going to go with what I think nintendo would go with and that is that is sell a 60 game with the content that is expected for that price and go from there.
- start with the melee veterens plus a few newcomers
- a promise that all veterans will eventally return
- all characters will get a refresh on moveset
- smashs will go back to playable final smashes
- a story mode that will be added onto as time goes on
- break the targets unique to a chracter is back
this would allow all characters to return (pending 3rd partys)while staying fresh will all the new content coming in
I really like the Namco museum track.Admittedly when Namco handling the Mario Kart arcade games shouldn't be a problem since they already had to say yes to the Pac-Man racing suit (and I believe they were already in the credits before that), I think one reason why they've never shown up as retro courses is that a lot of them have incredibly basic track layouts. There's a reason why Diamond City is one of their only standouts, not just because it's somewhat of a WarioWare reference, but because it isn't one of those incredibly basic tracks.
Hey, I did say standouts, as in it's not the only interesting track in the series.I really like the Namco museum track.
How about Mario & Sonic at the All-Stars Kart Racing Games?I know there's a lot people that prefer the integrity of Mario Kart staying strictly Mario characters, but other Nintendo franchises and even 3rd party stuff in it would be amazing. To hell with it, why not have a Capcom DLC Pack with Mega Man, Guile, Dante, Leon Kennedy, & Phoenix Wright driving cars through an Okami setting? Or a Konami one with Snake, Alucard, Bill Rizer, Sparkster, Pyramid Head, & Bomberman speeding through a Goemon level?
Here's my take on 18 newcomers for a Smash Deluxe. I'm going with what seems realistic with a couple of my own choices thrown in.I feel that the 18 slots in the code don't really mean anything. The next smash game is just that - a new Smash game, it doesn't need to conform to Ultimate's limits. Hell, even in an Ultimate DX they could add more if need be.

I have the opposite problem. There’s got to be at least 50 characters I really want to see in Smash. Even more if we get to really unlikely characters. Basically, if I like a character from anything, I’d be excited to see them in Smash. Cutting the list down to 18 was really tough for me, especially with the additional limitation I put on myself to split first and third party reps evenly at 9 and 9.18 fighters
1. Chun-Li
2. Sol Badguy
3. Zero
4. Dante
5. Crash Bandicoot
6. Jill Valentine and Leon Kennedy
7. Ryu Hayabusa
8. Doom Slayer
9. Impa
10. Tifa
11. Waluigi
12. Toad
13. Scorpion
14. Bandana Waddle Dee
15. Monster Hunter (specifically Lute with Ratha from MHS1)
16. Lara Croft
17. Ezio Auditore
18. Bomberman
coming up with 18 was tough lol
DLC is a thing now.I don’t see why. Brawl had 18 newcomers and Smash 4 had 17 newcomers.
If I went purely by my personal wishlist? That being said, if I had to make a roster with 18 new characters this is what I think it might look like.

Have it as its own separate spin-off thing.other Nintendo franchises and even 3rd party stuff in it would be amazing.
But shouldn't Kunio and Riki be separate characters? Riki could be Kunio's clone or echo.
- Ryu Hayabusa [Ninja Gaiden]

I already explained myself there. Engage is a celebration of Fire Emblem and it's history. Rumors about Engage where always coupled with a FE4 remake, so that is likely what is next in store for Fire Emblem. Out of Alear and Sigurd, I see Alear as more likely. They could even couple them for this very reason and to make Sigurd work in the first place.I don't really get where the idea that Alear is inevitable comes from. Unless the next Smash development start in the next few months or as already started last year, I actually think his chances are very low. Here's a quote from Sakurai on the topic of Robin and Lucina in Smash 4:
"Industry trends around the time when development begins is a pretty big factor. I started development on Smash for 3DS/ Wii U right after I’d wrapped up Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Fire Emblem Awakening was released one month after Uprising. So what’s popular around the time when I begin designing the game is important." (...) " For example, if Awakening was released six months later, Robin may not have made it in, and if it was six months early, they might not have even been considered."
Timing is very important for Smash characters, and it's especially important for Fire emblem because it's not a huge franchise by any means. Fire emblem was always very lucky with Smash bros development timing (Roy's game releasing soon after Melee, Awakening just released right at the time SMash 4 started development, Fates released at the time they were deciding Smash 4 DLC characters and Three houses was in development also when they were deciding Ultimate DLC characters. Now let's say Smash 6 starts development next years, would Alear be seriously considered? I doubt it, even Sakurai admits that a 6 months difference for Awakening could have mean that Robin wouldn't even have been considered. Personally I think's Alear chances are very low unless the game has already started development (which would surprise me a lot).
Here's the source by the way for the quotes Source gaming
The / implies they're either an alt costume, or an Echo. But shouldn't Kunio and Riki be separate characters? Riki could be Kunio's clone or echo.
coughcoughMicaiahcoughcoughSo yeah I do think Alear is close to inevitable. Just when didn't we get the latest Fire Emblem protagonist? It's been a trend even since Melee with Roy appearing before his game was even out.
This is kind of a personal wishlist, but I'll try to make this a tiny bit realistic:I feel that the 18 slots in the code don't really mean anything. The next smash game is just that - a new Smash game, it doesn't need to conform to Ultimate's limits. Hell, even in an Ultimate DX they could add more if need be.

I think they should, though. It's pretty much shown that the Mach Kick is Kunio's signature attack while the Mach Punch is Riki's. In fact, even in the very first game, Riki kind of stood out as being one of the faster punchers in the game. So I think making them separate would do them more justice to their character. The / implies they're either an alt costume, or an Echo.
Kunio and Riki don't HAVE to be different. They weren't in the original RCR.
Someone who also wants Kyle Hyde? Never thought I'd see the day...When it comes to characters from visual novels and adventure games, my personal most wanted is Kyle Hyde. Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is a truly wonderful game, and I really hope I can get around to buying the sequel one day (probably around this summer after the 3DS eShop closes and I can use some disposable cash for it because hoo boy is it pricy on the aftermarket).
For the folks who haven't played it and only know it from That One Brawl Trophy, I definitely recommend checking it out, especially if you can get a physical copy to play on actual hardware, since the game makes use of a lot of the quirks of the DS (the 3DS preserves most of this, thankfully).

No joke, Smash Run is why I have hundreds upon hundreds of hours clocked in on Smash 3DS. I practically prayed that if one thing had to return from Smash 4 going into Ultimate, it would be that. Like, that mode alone would increase my playtime of Smash Ultimate by at least a couple hundred more (if not a thousand...).Honestly, Smash Run was fun.
i forgot to mention my picks for the extra 3rd party stagesIf you had to give every 3rd party franchise extra stage what will you choose?
