I can't see them randomly deciding Terry is worth spending 3 characters worth of resources on. That's insane. Bare in mind all Pass characters are priced around the same, are probably budgeted around the same and thus require the same amount of resources to implement. Even Pirahna Plant who didn't come with a stage or music isn't much cheaper.

If Terry is 3 characters, expect Fighter 5 to be "Banjo & Tooie" and they're just a reskin of Banjo & Kazooie because they'll definitely have to cut their budget down afterwards.

I am so freaking split on the Frogger leak.

On my optimistic side, I loved Frogger as a kid (Plug 'N Play consoles. I ain't that old.), and there's no secret that my favorite characters are cartoony mascots. Plus, I always felt Frogger was an unlikely choice, so it'd be great to have him jump over all those hurdles.

But my pessimistic side doesn't want to see Heihachi and Lloyd go to the slaughter house.
I never played Tales, and I have relatively little connection to Heihachi (I played some Tekken 3 at my friend's house as a kid, but I was always team Street Fighter), but my OCD cannot imagine Ryu and Terry without Heihachi. That's the trinity right there.

And Heihachi could work. He's worn a damn jetpack in a fighting game before. He could have made it. But think about this. Kazuya Mishima or Jin Kazama. What if they got in Smash? Would get grab them?

Also I've given up on the idea of Kirby newcomers, but maybe a Dark Matter Mii Swordsman costume could be feasible.

It is a wishful hope. In KOF, the fighters are always grouped in teams of three (or four) which is why it would be cool

I'm pretty confident that Terry will have a meter and Max Mode as his primary gimmick. That's the craziest he'll get, I feel.

Imagine if you could change his style before battle ala CVS to change up his meter type and defensive options. Hope everyone is ready to be able to block in the air!

I ain't sleeping on it. I already mentioned my mixed feelings on it.
At this point, I sadly feel that Mii Costumes seem to deconfirm characters. During 4, I didn't think that, but the pattern just seems to demonstrate that.

A part of me is thinking that this is just a way for them to cover their tracks.

The other part of me is yelling at me saying that if I had the opportunity to talk for an hour about one of my favorite series and get payed for it I would be doing the same thing Sakurai is doing.

If they said they won't announce anyone, they won't.

Probably the 45 minutes will be Sakurai playing with Terry and showing all the moves and the stage... they did it with Hero/Banjo & Kazooie as well, but it was separate from the main video, it was an extra. Probably the next video will include all the gameplay details into the main thing and be longer because of that.

They will probably announce the next fighter/s in early december, or late november if we are lucky. Video Games Awards or the next Direct, who knows.
I didn't keep track, but I think the next direct can't be that far from now; wasn't the last one in september when Terry got announced? It's possible that in about a month we'll get one more maybe.

In all seriousness, mechanically, I think Terry is complex enough to have a lengthy presentation. Especially when we factor in the obligatory history lesson/respect that SNK deserves and how much it contributed to Smash. There's no doubt that Terry's stage is going to be filled with a bunch of easter eggs and stuff, and I expect the playlist that it's coupled with to be a long one. He might even highlight each Mii costume. It's going to be as entertaining as it is informative.

Maybe? I feel like Sakurai will use re power meter from the old Fatal Fury games rather than MAX Mode.
