Well NateDrake did say that we might get something Tuesday so we might neg new games or something tomorrow. A new consoles like N64 or GB would be nice, but I'm not getting my hopes up for that.
Tbh I thought the new thing we got was Doom Eternal's release date and NateDrake was simply a day late.

Somewhere out there on this big blue marble
So the NES and SNES NSO apps are updated with no changes...
Maybe more info by tomorrow?
That'd add up with Nate saying we'd get something on Tuesday so probably.

As for Crash not being seen as unique, it's not just because he doesn't have an obvious gimmick to include, but I'd say it's because he only really has 4 moves. Spin, slide, belly flop and a ****ing rocket launcher. Sure, Sakurai's done more with less, but when there's that little to work with, people typically struggle with what to add for the rest of the moves without making it too repetitive. Personally, I'd make him act like a Looney tunes character for his normals. Overly comedic animations have worked for Smash before but Crash would be the one case who absolutely requires it for everything he has
You will get original Game Boy games and you will like them
Obviously this is to tie in for Tatanga joining Smash, clearly, he's the Mario spinoff character people have wanted for 20 years

I have my own reason why I hate Hayabusa, case in point, he's a leak character. If it weren't for that something something Sigma Trilogy he wouldn't have been brought up
Even without those things, I'd say speculation for him would be on the same level as Simon's was during Smash 4.

the less gimmicky your character gets will be the least rememberable out of the cast, you glad that Banjo is highly requested or else he will be easily forgotten among the sea of gimmick character even lower than Byleth
Completely disagree. The more gimmicky a character is, the more likely I am to throw them directly in the trash.

"Unique" and "gimmicky" aren't synonymous. You can have a very unique character without forcing a gimmick on them. All three of the big fan requests (Ridley, K. Rool, and Banjo) accomplish this.

I think some characters like Min Min and Steve need a gimmick in order for their abilities to truly work. That being said, I don't want Sakurai to add a gimmick to multiple characters who honestly don't need a gimmick. That's overcomplicating the character's moveset for the sake of making it easier to make them stand out.

Also Isabelle’s a semi clone of Villager and she has their move-pocketing gimmick but a handful of different moves

if we were to get say Octoling, they’d share Inkling’s ink gimmick and the up b but with a smol octopus instead of squid. Their other moves would likely be different of course

I think Byleth is a good example of this. Sakurai could've gone haywire with the Divine Pulse, but he gave them the weapon triangle instead. This let them be unique without having some crazy earth-rending gimmick.

Besides, Nintendo's choosing the fighters. I doubt Sakurai would look at Crash and go "Nope, can't spin something unique out of that," not when Banjo and Kazooie exist.
It's not as simple as "Here's six characters, go make them, no questions asked". Besides, in the Byleth Direct, Sakurai said that due to the large roster, their plans are to make the most out of new gameplay mechanics, trying to offer you a whole new style of play. Even Banjo and Byleth try to do this with the mechanics of Wonderwing and the properties of Byleth's non-sword moves.

2/10 just because a lot of people think uncreatively on how that theory can be solved by having 2-in-1 character when they don't really need one (Lloyd with his girlfriend or whatever) or just a having a different gender variation for an odd character (Coco as Crash's alt??????? like wtf!)

I mean that just scream 'desperate'
I do think that Voice Theory is desperate and no different from all the other crapshot theories we've had to sit through since FP1.

Do you guys agree with How Joker and Byleth were implemented, since it seems their movesets more represent the game they are from than the characters themselves?

Just because he's "going to make the most out of it" doesn't mean he's going to scrap someone because they're too simple. The "new ways to play!" idea just seems like needless gatekeeping for more simplistic characters, especially seeing as we only have two characters so far. Banjo and Byleth don't shake up the overall Smash formula to a major extent; If they're considered gimmicky, Kirby and ROB would be considered gimmicky.

Yeah. I don't think that DLC characters have to be overly complex.

Talking about Wind Waker and multiplayer online reminds me of Four Swords Adventure and how much I want an actual Zelda game with multiplayer. Not like Hyrule Warriors, but like main-game Zelda.

I get what you mean: that said, there's an argument to be made that that simplicity is somewhat deceptive. Take this pro player's opinions on how easy or difficult it is to learn the basics and play a character competently (he was semi-joking around as he said, evidenced by the tier names):

When you have at least one character in each tier

I do Think though that More Unique ideas could be an advantage a character has over another Character, to the point that it could lead to the more unique character being picked

Though I do think we should have characters that Don't change Smash Mechanics in their moveset. Min-Min and Steve are unique and such, but I don't want every character breaking Smash in Half and such

During the time I was playing the first .Hack//G.U. game I was just thinking "Man Haseo in Smash would be cool." so I will also shill .Hack.
Add him to Smash you cowards.

I think Joker and Byleth are fine I just wish personally that Joker got more than 1 Persona, but that's mostly cause I wanted the funny hee-ho man in Smash in some way.

Don't think Geno will arrive in time for Mario tourney

If he was Playable though, I think his Tourney would be Mario/Square based, or Projectile Based Tournament

GB/GBA please. This is absolutely the dumbest hill to die on, but I'm pissed at how little Handheld representation the Switch gets. The Switch is supposed to be a hybrid, give some appriciation to both halves!
