You clearly haven't played a modern kirby game. Typical.

It wasn't, it also appeared in Dreamland 3, Kirby 64, numerous spin offs, Mass Attack, Dark Matter appears everywhere.
If it's any consolation, Return to Dream Land was my first Kirby game and I also find him very boring.

Anyways as for Bandana Dee, he'd be a pretty cool choice that makes a lot of sense and he's definitely the most recent Kirby breakout character.

So what's gonna happen with the Mii costumes?

Are we going to get those Namco ones missing from the last game? Or will someone else be on the chopping block?

BWD isn't for everyone, but as someone who's played most of the games he's starred in, I can definitely say that there's a lot of stuff he can do with his spear alone. He can use it to fly like a helicopter, throw it (sometimes several at once or in succession), and even use it to pole vault.

One thing that really works in his favor is that he's based off of a generic enemy, so just like PP, he can borrow attacks from other Waddle Dees throughout the series.

There's plenty of Waddle Dee options available, Parasol, Metal, Yarn, Swinging, Lumberjack, Walker, Snowball, even Waddle Doos could be used.

It's okay guys, I'm Opo's friend I can tell him this.

You're dumb for having that opinion and mine is better. Neener Neener.

For real though, Bandana Waddle Dee for Smash. He's my favorite Kirby character. Dude's just adorable and he's super fun to play.

I wouldn't be surprised if they took the Piranha Plant route with it and gave it a spear that is also a Parasol and a Beam rod. It would potentially make the character more visually interesting, and as long as the main focus is on the trademark spear, I'd be fine with it as well.
And maybe even throw in the Power Effect from Star Allies?

Castle Dedede would also be nice, but Sectonia's location dosen't stand out as much to me. It would still work as a stage, and I'd love to see physical Sectonia in Smash.
To be clear, I mean the second fight where she's a big 'ol flower in the background. I think the location would be super pretty in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's artstyle, and the stage could be pretty interesting too with the layout changing completely periodically.

Another Dimension could also be a pretty dynamic stage but it is butt ugly and I don't want it in my Smash game.

Yeah that was the one I was thinking about as well, the flower one I mean. I do want an appearance by that crystal platform somewhat if we're gonna have a sectonia stage. Maybe as floating platforms?

I dont get it, she's SOOOOO BORING compared to literally ANY other potential Wario character. Whats so much greater about a witch, a NORMAL magic embued witch mind you compared to multitasker workaholic, a a pro video gamer, or an evil abomination wielding a microphones, Like what makes Ashley so "oh yeah I want HER for Smash!"

I honestly don't want Ashley cause I have a distaste of her for some reason. But she could be quite unique indeed.

I'd pick one or the other. The Power Effects could be really cool (probably even cooler to be honest) but they'd affect so much of the moveset that it would have to be the focus.

What about BOWSER's Castle, huh? At least Castle Dedede somewhat appeared in Dream Land GB.
Bowser's Castle makes an appearance in Paper Mario so neither location are completely left out, but the fact that neither have ever been their own stage is quite odd.

Like what makes Ashley so "oh yeah I want HER for Smash!"
People just like her, dude. I think it has to do with her general popularity. The standoffish character who secretly wants to make friends is a popular archetype. Give that character a cute design and people will grow to like it.

I never liked that archetype so that explains a lot.

Just to clarify, this post was first made at Bandana Waddle Dee, and immediately became a copypasta.

Definitely an interesting poll, even if the top level results were somewhat predictable. It's gonna be interesting to see who actually makes it off the list and on to the Fighter's Pass. On the one hand, fan polls were pretty terrible at predicting last Fighter's Pass. On the other hand, Sakurai did say that Hero and Banjo's inclusions were partially influenced by fan demand, so they are trying to please the fans. I personally think, of the current top 10, Crash, Geno, Bandana Waddle Dee, and Phoenix Wright are the faces to really keep an eye on.

Also, can we put "Geno's requests are the product of a Smashboards circlejerk" to bed now? Dude scored second on a poll with a sample size of 4000+ respondents. You obviously don't have to like him, but denying his popularity as a bubble seems to really undersell the character and his fans.

Bandanna Dee could be alright. I like him enough. "Hat Goomba" or not, he'd probably be pretty fun to use in a fight.

If we do get a WarioWare character, I sort of hope their moveset isn't serious.

Like, instead of getting Ashley who flies on her broom and casts magic spells, let's get a character whose moveset is literally just random microgames from the series. Let their down Smash be a giant hairy foot that stomps down, or how about a side special involving a hot dog car ramming into players.

Can we not create a fake rivalry between Bandana Dee and other Kirby characters like we did with Rex and Elma please and thank you.

I never took the Hat Goomba argument seriously, but that argument was hit with the KT Meteor after Piranha Plant.

Too late. Smash has had a "join me or die" mentality for characters from the same series for a good while now.

9 Volt would be cool.
