I'm not bitter about how Golden Sun was left off, but if you create a game to end on a cliffhanger when you have no plans to make a sequel I'm pretty sure you should go to prison.

Not bitter at all. :shades:

As I am waiting for time to pass, I was busy thinking:

What if FP6's reveal and gameplay trailer is released when we are least expecting it? Something like with Joker's, wherein we have no prior knowledge or rumors stating the date of the reveal. When we least expected it.

Bonus points if the actual character (whoever she/he is) drops on the same day.

Elma is cool and a character I would like to see be playable. I don't really see why people think she's likely though when XCX wasn't exactly successful and when there probably isn't a XCX port or remake happening anytime in the near future due to the XC: DE already being a thing. I guess there could be a sequel to XCX (the first game did end on a cliffhanger), but that's not something I would make bets on.
I'm all on-board on more XCX content, but I don't see how Elma can be more likely than other Xeno characters in any scenario. Spirits deconfirm? There goes everyone but the XCX avatar and Lora. Spirits don't deconfirm? They'd choose Fiora or Rex over her. Xenoblade Chronicles X2 is going to be a thing? It won't be released for years, long after Fighter Pass 2 has ended, and she might not even be the protagonist for that game.

Sakurai is the most trusted leaker.
Smash 4 Battlefield in that screenshot is interesting, what could it mean? Development build? But some of those screenshots show up to date content (including DLC content), it would be odd.
The safest bet is probably a new big update that will bring back some removed stages from Smash 4 for free.

we thought that we are getting hints on a new character, but it turns out to be a change on an existing stage.
I guess this event was made for Black History Month?
The menu time required to do so alone would take longer than 10 minutes. Everything else you said is a valid criticism.
we still need justice for Pac-Maze.

You do know that after fighting an event spirit you can just use the 'refill' item thing to just summon the next, right? So long as you aren't changing your spirits every round, the menus take almost no time at all.

Unless you're a shareholder this really shouldn't matter. "Nintendo is wasting their money" is the maxim of either fanboys who don't understand that Nintendo's margins aren't their concern, or people who are just looking to rattle off every conceivable negative about something they don't like, even when it doesn't actually affect them.
I just view Spirits as a waste of effort and overall pointless. And yeah, I know you can refill them, but I often time have rotten luck and when I refill I get the same Spirit I just beat and then I have to change them out over and over again. Each fight last like 20 seconds, so I honestly spend more time finding them then I do fighting them, especially when compared to every single added Spirit.

On the one hand, the textures on the stage are redone like the rest of Ultimate’s stages and parts of the architecture are different (like the circular window on the arch). That leads me to think it’s not some beta version.

On the other hand, why are the flags mirrored? And would Sakurai intentionality leak future DLC (if that’s what it is) like this?

My pipedream for this would be a Miiverse stage that contains a sort of best of of old miiverse posts that are just memes. Like Clouds "Well show him!" Face.

For me the one stage that I would want to see back the most is Rainbow road 3ds. Imagine that stage in hd, it was already pretty gorgeous for 3ds standard. I guess the reason it didn't came back is because the original stage reused a lot of asset from Mario kart 7 on 3ds, and remaking the stage for Ultimate would basically means remaking the entire track with background and characters.

With these Warframe spirits coming out of nowhere. Imagine if we got ones for Minecraft and Overwatch, the over reactions especially to the former getting a spirit event would be hilarious.

What are you, some sorta Pac-Land fan?

My memories of the Miiverse stage were just that it had rampant spoilers for Star Wars and Game of Thrones circulating on it, which, as a fan of general chaos, makes me really miss it.

A pretty decent chunk of 3DS stages reused assets from other games so I don't really see the issue here.

Tbf Pac Maze does indeed deserve justice considering ****ing Mario Bros, Hanenbow, 75m and Pac Land were considered more important
I hate the fact that I can't properly listen to any of the Namco music in game because the stage they play on is horrible.

I really like those songs.

Damn, it's gonna be quite salty (and memetic) at the same time.

I am in a facebook group **** posting group for Smash Ultimate, some of them in that group are really convinced we are gonna get Steve, like straight up delusional thinking to the point they think he is absolutely coming without a doubt, so their reactions would be hilarious.

Oh dear me, where have I seen that mindset before (looks up list of ex's)?

But boy, oh boy, that is surely gonna be a massive wave of salt should we ever get another popular franchise Spirited Away.

I do competitive play so I mostly play around on FD or battlefield like stages. That said I wish Pac Maze was back just so we'd have that original PacMan arcade look in Smash.

Yeah. Then the Master Chief community might start getting overbearing as well since they're the only viable series candidate left from Microsoft.

It's kinda blurry at the moment but I don't want to say "good chances" because it'll just spite everyone else. There is nothing on the rumor mill as of the moment, so I just feel that everyone has a good chance on their own. Either way, he IS definitely a good addition the roster nonetheless, so...

Late to the convo, but man that Warframe news was cool.
Especially on the heels of the discussion of whether Yakuza/Like A Dragon would be a good fit for Smash (it is), makes me wonder if any IP would truly be off-limits to inclusion in the game in any capacity.

This ignores Microsoft's/Rare's best franchise.

One way or another, Mick Gordon WILL make it in Smash.

Yeah but a lower profile fighting game without much fan demand isn't going to stand much of a chance against Halo and Minecraft. That's not to say it doesn't have it's merits (there's a movement trying to bring it back), but it's nowhere near the legendary status the other two games are at.

EDIT: Not much fan demand for it in Smash specifically. At least, not from what I've seen. I also wouldn't be surprised if Killer Instinct got a spirit event.

A huge mix of fury, elation, and indifference.
Definitely elation for me. That's a decofirmation I want to see.

LOL, I meant to say that if there really was a Five Nights at Freddy's Mii Costume, I would stop playing the game for a week or two. I don't want nightmare fuel like that in my Smash game.
Outside the context of the FNAF games, he ain't that scary.

Probably they'll get a Spirit Event if they're gonna promote a new game or...
