I think Xenoblade X's biggest problem is that they didn't let you pilot the mech until like, halfway through the story if I recall correctly. It was such a huge part of the advertising and then you have to play hours to get it.

You're right. If we were getting an RE character then they most likely would have timed the Spirit event to coincide with the character's release.

When Cloud was announced I was able to recognize the opening notes easily. Same when the Xenoblade 1 Remake. Not as a FFVII fan was I hyped back then but as a fan of the series in general.
Still to this day I would have preferred my half Esper Goddess Terra over Cloud but it was not meant to be.

Watching Max's reactions to Cloud and Bayonetta brings me right back to those times. While nothing will ever top Joker for me, I was flipping my absolute **** when the first notes of FF7's theme hit and ESPECIALLY when Bayonetta spoke for the first time in her trailer. I think I was right there with Max shouting "I don't ****ing believe it!" in my college dorm room and losing it with friends on Skype since we all really wanted Bayo.

Out of the people doing reaction videos, for the most part, yeah. Especially the ones who kept saying Wolf during the star sequence.

Thankfully, I was not one of them, as I immediately started questioning if it was Final Fantasy VII for Wii U(as it was a regular Direct) the moment I heard the music. Having Final Fantasy VII's OST and using it as my bedtime music during my teen years sure paid off.

Has the V vs Dante thing not reached Smash Boards or did I just miss the conversation?

For those who don’t know: The voice actor for V spoke about wishing V was more relevant to the series as whole so that V would end up in Smash instead of Dante. The way he said it made it sound like he was sure Dante will be in Smash.

You missed it so bad some wannabe clout chasers tried talking about it in the Dante thread to claim they called Dante right after the entire thread decided to dismiss it as V's VA would know **** all.

Seriously though like 5 people including a wannabe clout chaser posted about it since it was first discussed there

When it comes to people not recognizing things, there were two sets of events I found really funny.

Lots of the original reactions to Shulk had people saying "Monster Hunter?" when they saw Gaur Plains, only for it to be Shulk.

Then in Ultimate other people who reacted to the Rathalos boss reveal saw the Ancestral Steppe and immediately went "Xenoblade?"

It's just funny to me that it got reversed.

Although for me, I was in my College Library when I watched the Direct (which ironically enough is a chatty place as is) and I couldn't hear as much as I wanted to. Top that off with my stream lagging and quality being poop and yeah lol.

That and they shot themselves in the foot when it came to customization. Since Elma and Lin are forced into your party until the endgame Irena and/or Lao are really the only viable party members to use.

The balancing is pretty bad too though. IIRC Irena, H.H., and Elma/Murderess were the only viable party members in the post game. Not that you needed them when you could just Blossom Dance once and one shot the hardest super boss in the game (Though I suppose if you can do that you've earned it. The grinding needed to make that possible is ludicrous.).

I thought the Metal Face cameo at the end was a hint at Dr. Eggman appearing in some capacity. It's a good thing I didn't think he was playable. lol

Meanwhile when I saw the blue pattern I was basically the stereotypical keyboard smasher irl as I lost all ability to speak properly. Funniest thing is I was a tad disappointed as I recognized the Vampire Killer version usef wasn't from Rondo and then Sakurai said "No Rondo? **** outta here"

I fully admit that me and my partner had a fun time watching every single reaction video and roasting every single person who did that. I think we counted on one hand the people who recognized Richter and Alucard. It was hilarious. Richter was my mind-blowing reveal for that direct as he's my favorite Belmont.

For the uninitiated.

I actually like this song, greatly prefer it over some generic sci-fi high tech sounding tune. It shows that even in the future on a whole different planet, parts of human culture still stays around.

You cannot honestly look me in the eyes and tell me that the guitar from 1:15 isn't ****ing dope.

Also, I'm like 90% sure the day theme was inspired by The Red Hot Chili Peppers "Give it Away" so I like that one too. Actually I think the day theme is way better.

With us all talking about reactions to Smash reveals, here are some of my reactions over the years.

E3 2006 Brawl back when I was about 10 years old: "Time to watch this 100 times!" Was in hospital though the day it came out which sucked.

Smash Bros 4: "Yay but not into the brighter colour scheme."

Wii Fit Trainer: "What?"

Little Mac: "Finally!"

Palutena: "Expected, but pretty happy with."

Robin: "Ehhh Fire Emblem." In hindsight though having played the games I would have been ecstatic.

Shulk: "Yesss!!!!! My boy is in."

Bowser Jr: "I think he is a game too early to be a newcomer. Not how I expected him to play though."

Cloud: I screamed of joy.

Corrin: *Gets entranced by listening to the Lost in Thoughts All Alone remix.*

Smash Bros Ultimate announcement: "Splatoon Movie or something.........*Sees the Smash Bros in Inklings eye* OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!" *A few minutes later* "If anyone starts WWIII before I play this, I will find them in the realm beyond!" Political stuff was making nervous that week.

Everyone is Here Trailer: "Well I'm impressed."

King K Rool and Ridley: "I don't want them but here's to the fans."

Isabelle: "She deserves it."

Incineroar and Ken: "Oh **** off!" I was a Grinch Leak believer. Although Incineroar is one of the most fun characters to play in the game.

Joker: See Cloud, but with added bonus of being told to shut the f up by one of my siblings and a five minute argument.

Hero: *Waves a pen like a baton when hearing the Overture*

Banjo and Kazooie: "Yes!" Then my brother came into where I was watching and went into a full rant about how trash the Smash Bros is. Made a comeback with saying GOT Season 8 and how his life standards are too high. Argument followed.
