As neat as Pyra/Mythra tag would be, can they 'do' anything without Rex? Never played the game but I assumed that being linked to Rex was what allowed them to fight.

In base game, no. They just suppott Rex with strength, defense, agility, etc. The only time they directly attack is the occasional special move.

Torna DLC has Mythra a standalone fighter, but that's because Torna is smart most of the time.

A bit suspicious. But I'm sure af he's aware that people is looking into what he says these last days. I can see KOS-MOS being FP5 but I wouldn't be surprised if at this point he's trolling people making them to believe that he knows it's KOS-MOS.

I'm excited for the prospect that we might finally get another character reveal that hasn't been leaked prior. The last one was Joker which was a year ago. It's kinda fun to see the community not knowing who the next fighter is.

Anyways as for Sony I still believe they are a possibility to consider moving forward. It's clear that Sony has changed their business strategy regarding their competition and are becoming more open lately. This doesn't mean a Smash character, but I do think it's now possible unlike 5 years ago. Whether it's FP5 or Post-Pass, I do hope to see their name in Smash as well.

Also Kratos would be fun as hell in Smash

Kratos' chances are very low but he could bring a ton of crazy ****. Similar to Dante in terms of variety and possibilities. Sky's the limit for that type of characters. He could bring the blades of chaos and the leviathan axe, only that secures an interesting moveset. Then you can incorporate Atreus, spartan rage, some of the 20 weapons he uses in the classic games and more.

The VGAs is a complete joke. However, the game reveals and trailers are not. That's where YouTube comes in, so I can watch what matters on my own time à la carte without the cringe and pageantry.

With that being said, there's more to the VGAs than f***ing Super Smash Bros. Although it is likely, a character reveal isn't assured. If you are tuning in, hopefully it is for more than one game, you uncultured swine. Unless that one game is Bayonetta 3. I'm kidding, but they seriously need to show that s***. We've waited long enough ffs.

Last year I didn't watch the Game Awards, and I only knew about Joker in Smash when I woke up and picked up my phone : the first notification was literally Nintendo's tweet about it.
I was still half asleep so I barely even believed it but the next second I jumped out of my bed lmao

Where else would they reveal the character?
They had a chance to release a Smash direct this month and instead we got an indie direct. The character has to be released by February according to the deadline and we usually get Nintendo directs in February/March. That means if there is no Game Awards reveal we're counting on the character being revealed and released in the same month, which is less likely than a Game Awards reveal.

Tbf, we also said two DLC reveals at E3 was also unlikely last February and that didn't blow over well for the Erdrick-February crowd.

Zell doesn’t believe the halo thing wouldn’t be shown at VGA but a regular Nintendo direct kind of like the final fantasy games for switch

Nintendo tweeting about TGA doesn't mean we will get FP5 100%. They could be announcing or showing other games. I would be a bit disappointed if Nintendo only appears to show FP5, honestly. I expect Bayonetta 3 and FP5. Maybe Breath of the Wild 2 instead of Bayo, but I'd rather have some new info about Bayonetta.

Honestly I expect BoTW 2 to be shown too though, considering BoTW has quite a bit of history with TGA already.

I know that this is wayyy down the line, but I kinda want fighter #8 to be Saber just for that F8 wordplay.

I mentioned this before, but 2B would be pretty unexpected and great way to end season 1. Like... I want a blatant Sakurai pick that makes no sense to whatever patterns we thought we figured out for this pass. I want a 3rd party company to double dip in the same pass and a woman (to combo break the current line-up). Moreover, she's from a game that currently isn't on the Switch and (except for appearing in PSO2) has no virtually no history with Nintendo. Most 2B supporters expect her for FP6 or onward (myself included), so I would absolutely lose it if she got in sooner than expected.

Either that or end it with a 1st party rep because of course they would.

Anyways... I'm probably going to take a break from this thread. Ignorance is bliss, and I want to go in unprepared, ahaha. I'm kinda surprised that they haven't been leaked yet and that Nintendo hasn't accidentally leak it themselves... Oh no, they're learning. D:

Here's hoping that whoever it is, it'll be a pleasant surprise like Terry.

My pipe dream would be Prime 4. But it's not gonna happen when the game restarted development a year ago. If we're lucky enough we will get a teaser about Prime 4 at next E3, I think.
The game is totally fitting for appearing at Game Awards, tho. I can see Metroid appearing at the next TGA. Same for Zelda and Bayo. I would prefer Bayonetta because we don't know nothing about the game since it was announced in the the Game Awards of 2017.

I'm personally interested about Nintendo announcements, Ghost of Tsushima new trailer and the rumoured new Crash game. Of course, I welcome any other surprises.
SMT V... it would be great but I don't know if Atlus would present the game at a place like TGA.

I promise I'm not trying to actively play the role of Devil's Advocate, but them tweeting about TGA doesn't really guarantee any announcements. Keep in mind that Ultimate has been nominated for GotY. That alone is probably enough to warrant them to make a tweet.

With that said, I'm sure they probably have something to announce. Whether that's Smash related or not, I don't know.
