New way to platform cancel

apparently you can platform cancel with just the control stick. as you're about to jump through the platform use a half circle motion and voila. it's way easier to pull off and even if you mess up you'll just jump through the platform doing nothing so the risk is lower.

EDIT: i forgot to mention that it doesn't have to be a half circle motion, that's just what i use. you can use the down and forward/back motion as well, i think a dp motion works too.

Half circle in which direction? up to right to down. up to left to down. Down to right to up? Or, w/e the motion is going in.

left to down to right or vise versa, basically it has to be some kind of diagonal fast fall input(that's why the dp motion works too) i just find this motion to be the easiest.

Yeah, this isn't new but a ton of people don't know this. You don't have to do an aerial to platform cancel, just tap down.

More accurately, you have to let go of down. It isn't the tapping that causes you the PC, it's the fact that you stop inputting down.

You platform surf, however instead of completely finishing it you platform cancel back on the platform. Almost looking like a cancelled platform surf?
