Second party is just that Nintendo publishes a game that someone else made. There are probably some agreements and Nintendo may share rights.Chu said he was second-party even though that didn't make much sense to me. Since Treasure is third-party and Nintendo is obviously first-party. Would being co-owned really make him meet in the middle of those two as a second-party character? IS THAT HOW THIS WORKS?
I know it was kind of co-created, but I thought it belonged to Nintendo? I mean, they had to ask if they were allowed to make another, didn't they? Or am I framing that the wrong way.
Notice I said IF.Metroid getting a fourth rep? Goddamn lol
Nintendo did more than publish it though. Wasn't the basic concept Nintendo's idea, but they asked Treasure to make it? Since Treasure makes shooters and are always doing work for other companies. I think a branch of Nintendo itself helped in the development.Second party is just that Nintendo publishes a game that someone else made. The reason i think they usually don't appear as playable characters is to make sure the characters appear in future games. With first party characters, Nintendo has control of the rights. If someone else made the game, than it's first party if Nintendo owns them. That is why I emphasize Xenoblade as Nintendo owns Monolith. It's easier to make sure they keep coming back since Nintendo has full control over them. It is probably also why they didn't use much from Rare (Nintendo only owned 49% of Rare which is why Microsoft got them so easily).
As I explained earlier, out of all of the second party characters the only one that appeared to garner any interest from Sakurai was Saki. He mentioned how he was a popular request, how he looked cool and looked like he could be a playable character. My thought process is that if Saki Amamiya got a lot of requests before Brawl when he was relatively obscure, how much more is he going to have now with greater exposure and less competition? There is still a lot of steam left for this character where as others I see going down. Add into the fact that the sequel gives Sakurai more content pull from, I see more upside for Saki.Hey wait, why would Star list Saki if he was doing first-party FELLERS.
Aside from Saki just being one cool dude.
So, he's in the same boat as Geno?Chu said he was second-party even though that didn't make much sense to me. Since Treasure is third-party and Nintendo is obviously first-party. Wouldn't mind hearing some of his ideas.I was just wondering what happened to you earlier today, Java
You and Hex hands down had some of the best ideas for Smash that I've ever seen
If you compare boats, Saki would be in a yacht, and Geno would be drifting around in the ocean on a piece of wood. Probably his leg.So, he's in the same boat as Geno?
Truth be told, I don't know how the game was developed. I just know Nintendo has no control over Treasure. They are an independent company.Nintendo did more than publish it though. Hat to break it to you, but the Acid Ghost thing was debunked.Treasure worked on Wario World.
Clearly they own Wario.
But on a serious note, if this Acid Ghost thing is real, should the ghost itself be playable in Smash or an Assist? I think Assist would be best, going off what I'm hearing about this game.

Well that gets my hopes up for a sequel. The game had a lot of potential, I think it would work great on either the 3DS or Wii U.you know what's neat? Nintendo fully owns Geist.

gotta love that nintendo look...**** << lol his name got censored... it's basically **** van ****... the last word...: Yea, but it was always to be stylized in a Nintendo gritty way, which was what we were shooting for. Not photo realistic like it was done 100 percent on film... It was always some kind of Nintendo look.
Newman: Yea, brighter colors, brighter environments, and that type of thing.
Person leaked a second of "information" that included supposed concept art. Turns out the "concept art" was taken from an artists DeviantArt page.Meh, didn't really care.
So how was this one debunked?
Poor Geno.If you compare boats, Saki would be in a yacht, and Geno would be drifting around in the ocean on a piece of wood. Probably his leg.
I'm already aware of several people I'm hoping do not make their way here... >_>Poor Geno.
Also, Nsider2's Smash Bros board is being shut down. Let's pray to Odin, Cthulhu, AND The Grand Architect that those 12 year old trolls don't flood this board and if they do, the mods start applying the BanHammer liberally.
What an idiot.Person leaked a second of "information" that included supposed concept art. Turns out the "concept art" was taken from an artists DeviantArt page.
BAM! No i don't knows like a certain knight of silicon i know of.Q: You told me last time I was here that Nintendo now is the sole owner of the Geist franchise. Does this mean that n-Space now no longer has any legal control of the franchise?
Newman: Yes, Geist is now a Nintendo franchise.
I don't often say this, but I hope Miyamoto doesn't have as much input if a sequel is ever made. He tried to change the focus of Geist from action and shooting to puzzling and scaring. Those are fine in moderation, but it wasn't the point of Geist. Well I guess scaring sort of was, but it was more possession than scaring.you know what's neat? Nintendo fully owns Geist.

There is another possibility. Sakurai could also go back to some of the pre-Brawl character ideas and bolster some of the existing series. Sure, people like this idea of how series should or should not be represented. If, for example, we had both Ridley and Dark Samus, would that really be such a big problem for people? Or what if we had a character liked Masked Man or Bandanna Dee versus having nobody. Not saying anything about the characters themselves but just trying to convey an idea.
Ultimately though I see the pool of characters being very shallow right now.
