Well I still hope the FE13 Roy is the main Roy. I think FE6 Roy and manga Roy can kinda be merged together, with a different colour Roy getting the lighter armor/cape that the manga one has. I think the Melee Roy can be further differentiated by accenting the comparative darkness of his hair and cape and possibly increasing the intricacies of his chest plate and head band. Just my opinion though.

And IMO:
FE13 Roy > Manga Roy > FE6 Roy > Melee Roy
(just based on aesthetics)

Apparently, some user on NeoGAF is saying this:

Regarding Dixie being cut from Brawl, yes, that's true, but there's more to it than that -- she was planned specifically as a tag team character. She's not like Mewtwo, Roy, Toon Zelda, or the other characters tacked on at the end of the roster; with Dixie, it was "tag team or bust." In the Famitsu article I linked to a number of pages back, Sakurai actually says that after the Diddy and Dixie tag team technical problems surfaced, he didn't think it would be a good idea to include them both as individual characters. As a pair there's a ton of novelty due to the tag mechanic being such a unique one.
I never saw anyone mention this in Japan, and they too mentioned the Sakurai technical difficulty aspect in regards to Diddy/Dixie Kong.

He thinks neither K. Rool or Dixie Kong will get in Smash 4:

The big problem I see with a DK newcomer is that the only important Donkey Kong game from the last seven years (arguably much longer) doesn't include Dixie or K. Rool. I don't think it speaks well for them that their last appearance was four years ago in a forgettable baseball game. Maybe if Sakurai goes the DLC route with SSB4 and there's a new game with Dixie or K. Rool in the next few years we'll see one of them.

Hey guys, I have a question. I've been watching good game recently, and i've noticed they refer to SSBB a lot in their shows. However, it made me hope they had actually physically reviewed it. When I looked it up, though, I couldn't find anything. Basically, i'm too chicken to ask GG myself, but do you guys know whether they did a review on SSBB at all?

Wait.. what? If this is true... then Dixie Kong isn't getting in Smash as a standalone character... and but perhaps he could still add Dixie Kong if she is paired with Kiddy Kong if Sakurai still wants that Kong team in Smash. Well, either that or pair Diddy and Dixie together.

Hector can't be a boss, but an AT could work. Especially since Lyn was one in Brawl.
Yes Hector can be a boss. Have Master Hand, Tabuu, etc. get a trophy of Hector, and bring him to life (and brainwash Hector). Thus, Hector is an awesome boss you fight! :smirk:
Who are you? What have you done with John Knight?
I liked the use of the Wii Mote. I also liked how the game had vastly improved over 4, 5, 6, and 7. Also, John Knight never existed. Johnknight on the other hand... :smirk:
I thought WarioWare was a pretty cool stage with all those mini games.
The mini-games broke the stage. It made it too annoying to be worth playing IMO. If the mini-games were slower, less broken, and didn't effect the match so much, I wouldn't mind. That or if there was a "stage hazard" on/off switch to turn it off. Because quite frankly, the default/main stage is pretty awesome. It also has an interesting roof/walls.

Well those quotes really sound stupid if you asked me. Dixie really needs to be a standalone character, as she operates differently from Diddy, and even Kiddy.

Duo systems only work if the two characters utilize the exact same attacks and animations; the Ice Climbers work there, along with the Plusle & Minun duo.

Sounds like the standard argument against Dixie and K. Rool. Unless this guy gives a link, I wouldn't think much of it other than the same old, same old.

That guy also thinks Little Mac won't get in due to Punch-Out Wii being outsourced and the lack of Punch-Out popularity in Japan. He also thinks Saki is unlikely due to Sin & Punishment being very niche. The only four "new series" newcomers he sees getting in are Mii, Miyamoto's new IP, Takamaru, and Mega Man, and in general only expects nine newcomers.

@Chrono: Holy crap. If that's true, Dixie is sure as dead. Unless Kiddy Kong resurfaces for Smash, but how likely is that?

Although, I wouldn't put too much credit into the K. Rool part, seeing as the same case could be said for Diddy in Brawl, being that the latest big DK game during that time was Jungle Beat, and Diddy wasn't in that.

There are a ton of games on the system I wanna play right now, either for the first time (the new Kirby games, Xenoblade, Super Mario Galaxy 2) or all over again (Donkey Kong Country Returns, Metroid Prime 3, Super Paper Mario). I figure it's a great way to break in the new place, y'know?
Yeah, those are all good games. Also, No More Heroes 1 and 2 ain't bad, and Capcom vs. Tatsunoko. Oh, and Sin and Punishment is a good (N64) rail shooter that was first released outside of Japan on the Wii. Plus, there are all those goodie goodie GREAT Virtual Console games.
I am not sure if people realize that Mario Kart games sell better than Smash Bros. games. The only other Mario games that sell better than Smash Bros. games are Mario platformers (particularly 2-D platformers).
Nah, just the original, Wii, and DS Mario Kart games have. The rest haven't sold better than Melee or Brawl.

Read my last part. I said "better than Melee or Brawl."

*looks it up*

Okay, Mario Kart 64 sold 9 million units. Brawl sold a little more, but Melee sold 2 million less than 9 million units.

However, I do remember it coming packaged with my N64 when I got it as a kid.

On another note, I noticed that people just say Diddy/Dixie/Cranky/etc., but funny enough, no one says Donkey. It's always Donkey Kong or DK.

Speaking of which, since Dixie won't get in alone, K. Rool and Cranky Kong for Smash 4!

Are you serious about Peach and Luigi, NO WAY. And Wario is in much more Mario games than his own WarioWare games. Just because they have their own games doesn't mean they are part of an entirely different series.
I way I see it, if the main characters of the Donkey Kong, Yoshi, and Wario titles have interacted with Mario in at least "1" mainstream game, or even a game series, their series' are part of the whole Mario Universe.

Donkey Kong (Original): Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong (Modern): Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Yoshi: Super Mario World
Wario: Super Mario Land 2

Oddly, Yoshi's series almost always has Bowser as the main antagonist, and he's a Super Mario series villain.

Well by sharing his opinions, this guy isn't coming off as the most credible, but it's a little different when he's supposedly sharing a fact he read about Diddy/Dixie as opposed to just his general opinions. Still, without a link this should just be taken as all other rumors are. Most likely false.

edit: If it were my way Cranky would've gotten in two games ago. :awesome:

Cranky Kong is still one of my "sleeper" characters. Seriously, he would be so awesome!

Old people are under-represented in smash! (kidding; I'm making fun of this awful logic)

By the way, why do you all care what some fool says on NeoGAF=???

@Chrono: Working on another stage concept, got any music recommendations from FE4-6?

Earthworm Jim hasn't had much life since then. :(

By the way, he would be a totally randomly awesome character, whether as a cameo, playable character... whatever! :shades:

It would be quite humorous if Cranky used a mechanical wheelchair to get around. But seriously, my main input for Cranky is an Assist Trophy; his constant mockery remarks to today's games just makes him a perfect candidate for that position.

Besides, a guy like him would be too Strong for us. ^_^

Cranky's FS should be related to Retro games somehow.

That guy from NeoGAF ended up backtracking when I pressed him on his "Sakurai SAID Dixie Kong alone was not worthy for playable status." He then made a snide remark at me for overrating Dixie Kong's chances.

I tried prodding him for suggesting Saki should not be in because of sales. Needless to say I quickly discovered it was not worth debating. After six years of doing this song and dance I've learned when to my pick battles.

The sad thing is that people like him bully others into accepting his opinion, and what's worse, is that those people practically live in that topic which means that they will never stop debating you unless you eventually decide to shut up.
