New Smash Bros for WiiU

I find all this talk about anime reps hilarious. It will not happen, ever. The three primary prerequisites for an appearance in any Smash Bros game are the following (Sakurai said those words himself, and I would find the article for it if I could.)

1. Character had to originate from a video game.

2. Character had to have appeared on a Nintendo console at least once.

3. Character cannot have originated from anime/manga/etc.

Why can't you get the article? ...I'll accept it if I can get a source

Ohshi-that's right.

Etemon debuted on the old Tamagatchi-esque Digimon games, had at least one appearance on a Nintendo system (first thing that comes to mind is Battle Spirit as Sukamon's Digivolution), and didn't originate in the anime.
However, Agumon/Greymon would be picked first.

@Johnknight: But it's a reboot. And I gave the definition of a reboot, which is to denounce the continuity of things prior to it.

I'm digging through as we speak, but the main reason why it's so hard to find was because the quote was made during the early Brawl hype, I think when the Dojo first started up. Some others might recall the article getting linked and cited for when multiple users claimed that anime characters they wanted COULD make it.

Regardless, it's still a laughable claim to think so even now, when there are many more deserving characters.

Only problem is that when people think Digimon games, they think Digimon World on the PlayStation since that was the best game in the whole series. Etemon completely stole the show in that game too.

But it's okay. He's also a much more famous face for Namco than Pac-man. Everyone loves Etemon's Love Serenade.

The Digi-Poke rivalry was legendary as well, so of course it will be represented.

It's a reboot, which means that the things that happened in the previous canon doesn't matter. It could be the previous canon will be continued through new games, or it could be over. However, it doesn't automatically mean that the (now) old Castlevania canon is not canon or will not be continued.

Plus no matter what, the classic Castlevania games will always kick butt!

I don't remember Etemon having the ability to do that. I remember his previous form, Sukamon doing it, though.

The only moves I remember are Concert Crush/Love Serenade and Dark Network/Dark Spirits (which could copy Shadow Ball)

Though I guess he could copy some of MetalEtemon's moves, such as the Banana Slip (copy from Diddy Kong), Mega Punch/#1 Punch (copy from Falcon Punch), and Fart Attack (copy from Wario). Or the Mon-kick, copying Falcon Kick.

Guess Etemon would be a composite clone

Actually, I'd like to note something: Not every Digimon is applicable unless they appeared in a video game first. The series is fine to rep, but the character still has that limit.

Which makes Agumon the most obvious choice.

Even though I think Myotismon would be the best, IMO.

Etemon, like Monzaemon, is a puppet digimon. Since Monzaemon is supposedly just a teddy bear filled with a Numemon inside, it is logical to assume Etemon is a MONKEY SUIT filled with a Sukamon.

That is to say, Etemon is full of ****.

That is just brilliant. He says he's number one (when he's actually number two LOLOL), he says he's the strongest in the whole world. BUT REALLY HE'S JUST FULL OF ****.

He is such a great character.

I have come to the Conclusion that Tecmo-Koei has the best chance of being a 3rd Party rep.i mean they:

-put a samus level in DOAD
-Made other m
-made Pokemon Conquest
-put Takamaru in SW3
-and put a samus and Link suit in Dynasty warriors

that puts them like a mile above most other 3rd parties.

it comes out inthe states in june-same month B&W2 come out in Japan.
