Fixed. Wouldn't make sense to not include the mascot. (Well technically, Greymon is supposed to be the mascot, but Agumon is just one stage below it, and could possibly Digivolve during the match.)

But Renamon is the most pupular Digimon. Even Nintendo does know that. Don't you see Nintendo started creating more anthropomorfic pokemons after her? If you observe well you will see that even Zoroark is fewest steps from being a recolor of Renamon.

Exactly what I mean. Adding both will satisfy many fans and complete the main Mario group.

Additionally, getting both Toad and Jr. at the same time is quite possible as well! We got multiple characters for the series in Melee, so the possibilty is there this time as well! Both are wanted in great numbers as well.

I consider PM as his own series, so I still think he's possible on his own right. Toad and Jr. would definitely fall under the Mario series if they make it in. Hence, these debates.

If they do make Toad playable, what I think they ought to do is replace Peach's Toad move with something more along the lines of Super Princess Peach, like using Perry as a melee weapon, and maybe holding B to charge up a projectile. Just an idea I'm throwing around.

Dr. Mario had his own franchise, and yet was repped under Mario. That and the fact that no other paper characters are really wanted or likely, and that it really is just a different form of Mario. I'm all for new franchises, but when possible we should cut some of the ones that can avoid the "lone representer" portion of the roster. In this case, you can do it without actually getting rid of the character.

That would be fitting for her character. I'm quite surprised Peach did not get any new moves based off SPP in Brawl, so hopefully Sakurai changes that this time.


Perry+Charge Shot would work well as an alternative standard special for Peach. Either that or give her Toadsworh since he likes being with Peach more than Toad. I'm sure that he would guard her with his life (with that cane as well).

They can actually keep Toad there.

Remember, there's the Toad race and then the Main Toad.

They're different characters altogether. Peach using a generic Toad makes sense.

Main Toad being playable at the same time also makes sense.

But if it's really a big deal, you could put Toadsworth in for Toad in Peach's Moveset.

I agree that adding both Toad and Bowser Jr. would please a large group of SSB4 fans considering that they are both extremely wanted for quite a while now. I'd actually would be quite happy to get the both of them in SSB4 (the more, the merrier). A satisfying result in the end would be great. Peach, Bowser, and the less needed Doc were all added in Melee due to their demand, so a likely scenario might just happen again. :D

Even having Paper Mario as well wouldn't be too bad. I think the reason the Doc was placed in the Mario series was due to the fact that he was likely added late as a clone (he really did not represent too much aside). Paper Mario can be considered similar to Yoshi and Wario as their game genres are very different (well maybe not Yoshi's too much) from the regular Mario series. I don't see the problem with adding series with just one rep if that series is notable at least.

Hm, I wonder what type of scenario would occur if we get Toad and Jr. on one version of SSB4 each. Like Toad in SSB4 3ds and Jr. in SSB4 Wii U. Then having Paper Mario in there as well somewhere would satisfy a good amount of the Smash fanbase wanting all three characters.

Rawk hawk has a small following last time I checked although I wouldn't call him likely.
Personally I'd prefer he be under his own series but I'd just be happy if he got in honestly.

Fun fact: Mariowiki considers the paper Mario series as part as the Mario series with Mario as the main protagonist rather than paper Mario. However they consider dr. Mario his own series and Dr. Mario a seperate character and his own protagonist.

i think almost all of us agree thats its border-line SIN to not have at least one new f-zero character up there. goroh is c. falcons rival isn't he? (or at least thats how he sees himself). plus while c. flacon has that american-esque look about him, goroh would complement that with his obvious japanese theme. :o

I agree. I think I would love Jody Summers being in the roster too, rather than Captain Falcon wearing her colours as alt outfit, but Goroh is much more important. Plus, he is already a bad *** outside his car, while Jody... I dunno!

What would that accomplish, anyways? I'm sorry, but being upset that Mother has two reps, or being severely offput by the idea of a third, is silly. Claus/Masked Man certainly is by no means far fetched. Mother is certainly deserving of a third rep, even though it likely won't happen this time.

Well, Mario VS Donkey Kong is based upon the first DK game, I admit. It could be related, who knows?

Anyway, as said before, unless Nintendo states a canon, we can't really say what games are spin-offs or not.

But we can say what separate series they are based upon what they are... literally. Dr. Mario is a specific puzzle series, for example.

i didn't say cutting was evil, whats EVIL is having a character thats been alone in smash (ie: ness) to finally have a GREAT character from its own series (ie: lucas) join the game and then removing the newly added character, making the original character (ness) to stand alone once more.

the shy guys with cannon mouths are called "shotzo's" i believe.
masked man is okay, but he has the "im dead" factor. though i doubt that matters. and porky.. well at the end of game 3, he was supposedly unkillable, being trapped in a undestructable ball, forced to live alone for the rest of his life while mocking people from a tiny window... FORTUNATELY time paradoxes are present in the mother series!
