That's because Electric types are already perfectly well-repped in Smash. Fire was barely repped, and Water was terribly repped. By this, I mean Pokemon-wise. Mewtwo had an electric attack, for cripes' sake.

Also, Ice isn't repped Pokemon-wise either.

I'm not counting the Stages, mind you.

Wait, misread your post a little. Electric is a very popular Pokemon thing in Smash. Counting double characters and Pokemon who use it, that's 5 electric pokemon representation. If we go further, some Pokeball Pokemon, Pokemon Stadium 2, Dr. Mario, and I think that was it?

I just don't like they're trying to super-market the two Furries instead of more interesting characters. 4th Gen has a lot MORE than just Lucario. He got his spotlight. How about one of Pokemon like Tangela? Munchlax? Etc.

Zoroark, meh. He's cool in battle, but not the best ever. I'd rather a newer unreleased Pokemon got the spotlight. As long as Genesect is still regularly catchable, I guess it's fine.

He wasn't at all. He just showed up a bit more. That's it. The most important characters were the Box Mascots. Hell, Ash was more important.(not surprising)

Nah, it's just the fact that you can't accept GameFreak only reps him a lot, not actually gives him full credit. They're pretty different. To put it bluntly, Ganon shows up quite a lot in the Zelda series. Is he the Mascot? No. He's important, but Link's the Mascot of the series. It's their importance, not just appearances. Victini... was not terribly important. He's still in Ganondorf or Luigi territory right now.

Honestly though, Falchion, can you blame them? It seems like it could go anyway at this point right now with these 5th gen Pokemon. Personally, since none of them really strike me as really awful or obvious choices for Smash (all of them are decent choices, but they all have some cons, IMO), it's hard for me to decide on who I really think is the most likely 5th gen candidate.

I say Toad. However I do not particularly have the energy to explain why.

My criteria for characters usually centers around how integral they are to Nintendo (quantity and quality), and I see Toad as being ranking more highly than Krystal.

Not feeling particularly argumentative, though, so I wouldn't be able to do much critical thinking right now.

Obviously Toad is the better choice. This is my biased opinion. But you gotta ask yourself this... why are you asking other people to present their case to determine if Krystal is a good choice over Toad? That, to me, tells me that you couldn't come up with a good reason to add Krystal. Hell, I couldn't come up with one if I tried.

Krystal is a very unique character with staff, magic, just happens to appeal to female, furry, and some male fans. It would sell easily. She's fairly popular.

...Toad has popularity and importance on his side. Uniqueness is extremely questionable right now for him.

I'd like both in, mind you. But it depends what your pure Mario slots cover already.

She's hands down the most viable option for Star Fox left (I'm neutral on her, BTW)

But then again, we don't really need a Star Fox newcomer in Smash 4; Fox, Falco and Wolf would be just fine

I pick Toad, but my opinion is pretty biased. Toad is one of the characters I want the most.
As far as Krystal goes, if there is a Star Fox newcomer, she would be the most unique choice. Slippy and Peppy would probably end up being clones(even though there is potential for them to have unique movesets).

See, I don't think Toad is the most exciting character in the world, but he appeals to me waaaaaaaaaaaay more than the hundredth anthropomorphic space adventurer. I just think Krystal is boring. There's no way to quantify opinions, which is ultimately what I think this matchup comes to.

No I'd play Black and White first. It's not a long game you can probably beat it in like a week maybe less then that if you have a lot of time on your hands.

I am guessing that Star Fox is not going to be adding to the roster this time around. More effort should be put into further distinguishing Wolf's specials from the cast. And (maybe) changing a couple more of Falco's moves (although it makes sense that Fox and Falco would be trained similarly in combat).
