What's actually funny is that I loved these supposed starters. And of course, as a cruel twist of fate, BAM! Fake-ified. I'm still calling them Owleaf, Pacatherm, and Platide no matter how cheesy it sounds.

Honestly though, my wishes are kind of simple when it comes to stages. Just give me less gimmicky stages like WarioWare (just 'cause I'm casual don't mean I like everything flashy and gimmicky) and more stages like 64 where it actually feels like I'm playing on the stage and not just like I'm fighting on a few platforms with a Nintendo-themed backgroundd

Agreed. I actually hope the Wii U itself is a stage.. it seems like a pretty boring idea but you know it's whatever.

on the topic of Stages, I have come to the conclusion the next Metroid Stage will be Tourian. the reason why is because of the pattern followed by the gae installments,and the order the stages appear in Metroid.

64=Zebes

Melee=Brinstar

Brawl=Norfair

Tourian is the next in line. which makes me wonder: could Mother Brain be a stage obstacle/Boss?

Actual home stages for each character would be a nice touch...this was done to some extent in Melee (with exceptions, like Young Link on Jungle Japes), and is a concept that ought to be revisited.

Aside from these stages, there can be additional ones repping nonplayable franchises, such as Electroplankton (with hopefully better stages, of course).

The Zelda characters did fit stage-wise. Kind of. Zelda/Sheik got Temple. Link got Great Bay(he technically went through it before getting older). Young Link's stage is similar to the Swamp in Majora's Mask. Ganondorf was on a lava stage.

Every character getting their own home stage would be nice to see. Melee and 64 can so close to it meeting that goal. Melee was weird to see some characters get cross franchise home stages though.

How many stages do you think we can expect this time anyway? I'm guessing 52-60?

Bowser having Yoshi's Island as a stage is quite a bit of a stretch as well; no one will disagree a Bowser's Castle stage has been needed for a long time now.

Not a stretch. Bowser is Baby Bowser, so him being on a Yoshi stage fits in canon.

The last two has some sense. Battlefield is the place for epic battles. It's Mewtwo, sooooo...

What did Pichu have? I think Pikachu had Pokemon Stadium and Jigglypuff had Poke Floats.

Well, unlike Yoshi's Story, Yoshi's Island was from a Mario game (Super Mario World), and Bowser was an antagonist in that game, so it isn't too terribly much of a stretch.

well he had the mario bros. stage at least. Which was an NES classic and ROB was like the mascot of the NES. Although, I agree Gyromite would be a better stage obviously.

In All-Star Mode it was Brinstar Depths.

Probably because he's a Hellish character, he got a Hellish stage.
