No, I got what you were saying 100%, but I still want Raccoon Snake

@disfunk- Not sure on how I feel about Mooneye, I gotta play Uprising though so that opinion of mine'll change after that

I guess I'm the only one who liked SSE for what it was. "shugs"

Improvements can always be made though. If anything all it needs is some more diverse stages, some more options (item shops?), and a story that's slightly easier to understand.

The latter I'm betting will be improved on if you look at Uprising.

Weren't the Mooneyes or something like them common enemies in the SSE=???

Anyways, we need a ton more common enemies from series with playable characters. Melee might have had more actual Nintendo common enemies than Brawl. Goombas, red and green koopas and paratroopas, multiple Yoshi, Re-Deads, Octoroks, Polar Bears, those furry hairy things from the game Ice Climber.

And the SSE did bring some improvements, but it was hyped to be as good as a standalone game, and it failed. Melee's Adventure Mode wasn't hyped as anything but an extra mode and feature for you to play alone.

Lastly, there is a lot to take away from both Melee's Adventure Mode and Brawl's Adventure Mode, both positive and negative.

I like the Brawl´s Adventure Mode more than the Melee´s Adventure Mode, but those 2 are good.

At least Brawl's Adventure Mode doesn't require you to repeat every single stage with every single character. The enemies just need to be much less original, and we'll get somewhere.

You weren't required to do it, you just got a trophy out of it. All you were required to do was to beat Adventure Mode and/or Classic Mode with every character to unlock Mr. Game and Watch and All-Star Mode.

Plus Melee's Adventure Mode had a lot more replay value, and a lot more diversity, even if you replayed it a thousand times.

Brawl's adventure mode (like Brawl) was the same thing over and over again on every stage. Every stage felt the same. The same went for the enemies.

Personally, I hope we get more actual Nintendo enemies in the next Subspace Emissary. Sure, there were Koopas, Goombas, Hammer Bros. and Bullet Bills, but there should be more diversity, no?

Melee

Pros:
A third of it was platforming.
Had elements taken from Nintendo series.
The platforming sections had diversity between each one.
Pokeballs could be used.

Cons:
Lack of a story (seems more like classic mode rather than an "adventure" mode).
Was mostly just fights ala classic mode just with a specific order.
Only had one true boss with steep requirements in order to face.

Brawl

Pros:
Was a full blown mode all it's own ("adventure!").
Was 90% platforming.
Had a story that connected things together...somewhat.
Several bosses to fight.
Secrets to unlock.
Customization.
Multiplayer.
Stage Select.

Cons:
Was a bit too long (although this is somewhat subjective).
Lack of diversity between stages (mostly same old same old).
Original elements such as backgrounds, enemies, ect. were all lacking.

vv Good to hear.

Adventure Mode needs side quests, and it wouldn't hurt to have NPCs other than Palutena play a role in Adventure Mode, too

:phone:
Lately I've been having the following input...

The heroes are with Palutena, while the villains are with Medusa. There may also be some neutrality during the process.

Well again, if the developers focused more on the classic enemies, Adventure Mode would've been less dull.
Not just that, but the Adventure Mode for Brawl felt detached from the characters, their universes, and their personalities. It's like if the sequel of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City took place a on generic island with random tribal enemies and a lookalike Batman. It's just... stupid.

This would be awesome. Side quests, side areas, missions, extra missions when replaying levels, stuff like "collect 100 coins in X time" (like actually in Mario), prevent K. Rool from blowing up DK Island in "X time" (like in Donkey Kong 64), various side quests like in Zelda, collecting power ups like in Metroid, gaining XP like in MOTHER, etc.

Still want variations of the gameplay types between Adventure Mode stages. Star Fox shooter stage, etc.

The thing with Melee is it was easier to jump into, and much shorter. While it was far from perfect, it had the "Nintendo's Greatest All-Stars!" vibe to it that the Brawl SSE did not.

With Brawl's SSE you could do it in any order after beating it, and the stages were all pretty much the same. Some just happened to be stronger than the others.

Still, the SSE felt totally unrelated to anything Super Smash Brothers. Smash Bros is about the clashing of Nintendo's titans (and a few guests) in their worlds, not on some random world nobody cares about!

So basically we want SSE with more diverse stages and more Nintendo themed stuff?

To be honest though, I'm still betting on SSE2: The Return of Tabuu.

Let me tell you all, though. SSE is definitely NOT boring on Intense. I'm doing it now. Primids are doing 30 damage. Goombas, 28. Towtows are doing ALMOST 50 DAMAGE.
And they're all fast as ****. Terrifying, almost.

^^^ slooooow. You just figuring that out?

Poppy wait til you get to the 2nd subspace bomb factory on intense. It'd super crazy! Especially when you do it without the cutscenes so you don't reset health/lives.

I have no idea what those enemies are.

Also, INTENSE is easy. Just space. Even Very Hard in Melee and Smash 64 is easy if you know how to space like a pro, and know where to space.

Also, I can shine spike Giga Bowser like a BOSS!!! I've killed him in Adventure Mode in less than 15 seconds, and subsequently moon walked. :awesome: :foxmelee:

They need to do that with Abridged Vegata.

That was so annoying. I only did it to get the Meta Ridley trophy, and it took me forever to do it. That stage is longer than it should have been.

@Oasis: Where's your roster thread again? I'm feeling bored so I feel like working on my bet.

Tabuu coming back?

At the end of the story in SSE, he didn't just get defeated and die, his "essence" split into all the Subspace worlds. So it's not like you can just easily bring him back, at least, I'd hope, this ain't Dragonball GT

That Vegeta video is the greatest thing ever.

Old Religious Lady: "Where are you from?"
Vegeta: "Nappa!"
Old Lady: "You mean Nappa Valley in California?"
Vegeta: "YES!" *repeatedly*

Also, Tabuu should come back for the Classic Mode. He was a good boss, although his ultimate move was pretty stupid and took away from the fight.

Towtows are the giant goat things that wake up and rampage when you kill something.

I know those are easy. I've beaten Boss Battles on Intense with Kirby, as well as Event 51 with Mewtwo. But the entire SSE? I can't space that.

I'm just betting on it because of how much work Sakurai put into the mode. It would be a shame to have all that work die or be made pointless. At the very least, I'm betting that Tabuu will return as a hidden optional boss.

Here: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=317568

But you should try out Jakor's program. I linked to it at the top of my thread.
Thank you. I may, but I'm planing on mixing up some of those images with those trophy ones I found for fun. Not that your images aren't Strong or anything. :3

It is easy to take on the bosses; just be patient and don't give ground. As for the SSE, while there are some "hurry up!" areas that are hard, the other areas you just need to take a few enemies at a time, avoid their hit box range, and RUN AWAY if possible.

Also, I think I've beaten Event Match 51 with everyone. I beat it with Jigglypuff in under like 3 minutes.

Personally, I think Event Match 50 is harder though!

Also, Tabuu is coming up. Nobody follows the Smash Bros. series story, aside from the hands creating everything, and Bowser going Super Saiyan and becoming Giga Bowser! :chuckle:

Speaking of which, Smash Boards needs a Giga Bowser Smile! ;)

@Tri: I know!
[COLLAPSE="Agreed"]"Thawarting my plans?"
"Thawarting your plans?"
"Yes, thawarting my plans."
"No?"
"Good cause that would be bad."
"How bad?"
"I'd have to kill you."
"..."

"SHUT UP GHOST OF NAPPA!"

"I'm just saiyan."

"I'm going to rock you...like a hurricane."[/COLLAPSE]

At the conversation, I said just make the AI smarter instead of increasing the knockback of the enemies.
Agreed. Maybe even give them the ability to dodge?

I beat Event 50 for the first time with Ganondorf.

Tabuu wanted to destroy the world of trophies, right? Well, who's to say Crazy Hand didn't have an unseen role in this?

Ironically, you can easily get the Meta Ridley trophy on Easy if you give your characters the stickers that boost the odds of seeing Trophy Stands.
