I was pretty impressed by the medusa OVA. My only concern is the ending since it left on a major cliffhanger and her OVA was only supposed to have one part. Well that and I wished they would have delved more into her origin and motives.

Since Ganondorf didn't appear in Skyward Sword, his Beast Ganon form from Ocarina of Time would be the only option for his Final Smash. It makes sense since the game was remade for the 3DS recently, as well as it bieng his most recent appearance.

New game, new rules. For Ganondorf, and possibly Sheik (though I'd prefer Impa), I think Sakurai will ask for the Zelda team to come up with designs for them to fit in the Skyward Sword style.

Also, the Zelda characters don't necessarily represent any particular incarnation of themselves so anything goes in their movesets. I do hope that they'll do Dr. Mario, Toon Link, and Melee Ganondorf as DLC.

Sheik is only important because she is Zelda. Take that away, and she's in the same group as Saria (who I'd love to see make a return).

While OoT does indeed have the status of most critically acclaimed Zelda game, people need to move on. Sure the 3DS remake brought it back into peoples eyes, but most probably remember it as a N64 despite the remake. Same thing goes for Starfox 64 3D.

I'll defend the OoT version due to the times, but Ganondorf was indeed flat in Twilight Princess, and Zelda had just as many problems in that game.

And I think we can all agree that two swords, just by looking at the roster, is unique in itself to make it worth a look at.

Doubt he'll be getting a Sheik design though. And as for Ganondorf, he could be his own style, like Toon Link was in Brawl except the other way around. Instead of Toon Link being the brighest colored Zelda character, Ganondorf would be the darkest looking Zelda characer in Sm4sh. And the only OOT-based character that mathers.

Sheik isn't an important character, not enough to warrant her and OOT-Zelda a spot over SS-Zelda, who infact is the most important Zelda in the timeline, as well as the most recent. Impa as a standalone character, or coupled with Zelda to be the first duo characters who aren't the same (Ice Climbers) would all be more unique, and possibly much better balanced than Zelda / Sheik as a double character. That, and Impa is a re-occuring character, with an actual important role in Skyward Sword. And she's been with the series since the beginning.

Besides, Sheik's inclusion in Brawl still feels to me like a lucky one. She was the last veteran to get announced, and even Sakurai said she wasn't in TP, but they came with a design (unused for TP) for him to use in Smash and tadaaa, there she was. I seriously think she's the only Melee "veteran" to be in serious danger of getting cut. Then again: she was only a side-character to Zelda, so nothing should really mather as long as Zelda herself is in.

IDK, ask the Soul Calibur 5 team .

It depends on what you want to do with this successor. Diddy and I have suggested either a completely separate slot so they aren't balanced with each other's strengths and weaknesses as a yin-yang design. The other possibility was that they're a tag team as opposed to the incredibly time inefficient transformation.

It is a shame that is is unlikely to ever see a Tarm Ruins stage from Oracle of Seasons. Fighting in mountainous ruins where the seasons change because of the Rod of Seasons would be epic. Plus, having some music from Oracle of Seasons and Ages would be pretty tight too.

Is he viewed as improbable because he was (possibly) a one game character much like Midna?

Eh, I'm 50/50 on Ghirahim. I wouldn't mind him in the game, but I heavily doubt he'll succeed where Midna and Zant have failed before him.

If Sakurai decided to replace Sheik with Impa (but keep the moves) in order to preserve the Skyward Sword design, I can see that as the only real way Impa would be a playable character.

Ghirahim definitely has a personality.

Is there a hook or fighting style that he can bring to the new game?
Or is he kinda stale?

Don't look so much at fighting style, but more at play style. He definitely has potential with dagger and teleportation abilities. Look up Lambda-11 in BlazBlue and Vergil in UMvC3.
