We call it Miis! :troll: Customizable stats and movesets is over the top. The Smash Bros development team already needs to make frames for character moves, movement, hit animation, KO animation, item animation, etc. Now you want the Smash Bros. development team to make every frame and statistical change possible=??? If you want that, you'll need to hack the game!
They already had this to a degree in Brawl's SSE with the stickers. And, though I know it is taboo in here to mention other fighting games, just look at Street Fighter X Tekken and it's Gem System. It is not the impossible feat you are making it out to be.

Statistics you can mod with stickers and stuff, sure. I wasn't arguing that.

Giving characters customizable moves is crazy. Why not just allow characters to get stronger moves (in single-player modes) and maybe start off with/always have a certain item as an attack. You know, like a ray gun that has infinite ammo, always having a home run bat as your fSmash and a few tilts, or a Final Smash after doing X amount of damage or after X amount of time=??? That is possible. However, let's not give, for example, Ness 17 different upgradeable special attacks! :ness:

It's quite easy to make a customization system as is. Whether it's a Create-A-Character or just like the Stickers.

I do hope it's better than the Stickers, though. Those things were meh. IMO.

I think both games will have different physics, gameplay, and maybe even slight differences with the same character from game to game. An example would be like if Fox's up tilt was somewhat of a kill move with a lot of knock back in the Wii U Smash Bros. game. In the 3DS Smash Bros. game Fox's up tilt would have great stun and be a juggling move.
;)
But then you'd be making two games then. The whole point between the two is inter connectivity. Why have that if they play nothing alike?

No, you don't do that for every move, just a few. Personally, I just want these games to play and be different. I don't mind interconnection between the two, but I want these games, above all else, to be different. The chances of having a high tier smash bros game would be much higher if the two games had different physics and whatnot.

I didn't mean to suggest that this should become an RPG or something. I mean being able to tinker with characters on a more subtle level. Like, do you want to play with a more Melee like Mario or a more Brawl like Mario. If they were going to give the characters each 17 different attacks then we wouldn't see the game until 2020.

That still doesn't make any sense. Even tweaking a few moves here and there leads you to having completely different matchups. Besides, your chances of having a high tier Smash game go down if they're working on two games at once (port versions not applying) because they can't be as good as a single Smash game being worked on.

Problem is there needs to be something unique about both of them that will warrant needing to buy both. Just having inter-connectivity alone is not a good enough reason unless there is value for it. Whether that be different playstyle or unlocking exclusive content there needs to be something to justify paying $90-$100 for two games that are marginally the same.

I'm not expecting too many differences between the two really. Perhaps different multiplayer modes? Probably some different stages as well. But of course, being a portable Smash alone makes it an ideal purchase for most of us :smirk:

Well, there is one advantage. You can play the game wherever you go. To some, that's a big plus.

I think the emphasis on the 3DS version is the single player, and this raises more questions than answers.

And my God, the voice acting is amazing in KI. To think a Nintendo game would have good acting, and veteran actors to boot. I'm still stumped on Medusa's voice, but one scene made me think it was Cree Summer.

Do you know how REQUESTED a Smash handheld game has been?

This game doesn't need any fancy bells and whistles to prove itself. The concept of a well-received, high-selling series finally coming to the palm of our hands after being exclusive to consoles for YEARS practically sells itself

Pit's Smash debut did wonders for the Kid Icarus series. I wonder what dead franchises will be resurrected by SSB4?

With all the new weapons,it will be like making Pit empty if they keep the brawl moveset!
I say brawl's moveset will belong to a kid icarus newcomer(if they want to change the moveset, otherwise,it's not needed):CLASSIC Pit

It as lots of chances not to happen, but i liked brawl's moveset, but with all the weapons,a uprising moveset would be really nice!it's needed!that's the only thing i see to keep both moveset!or if it's too stupid, make him have an alternate moveset! :ohwell:

as Mario from Brawl has shown, Movesets can be changed now.

Pit will get at least 1change come next game.

Damn straight. Of course, the thing is, some people aren't going to buy a Wii U unless the system is better. If the only thing the Wii U version has is... a better story mode, the Handheld version, due to more people having the 3DS, will sell more.

The thing is, I'm more worried about the console version not having enough incentive to buy. Honestly, I consider character version exclusives the best incentive possible.

I'd figured magnus would be a better fit as a character to throw in as apart of the kid icarus series. I mean sure alot of ppl always suggest Palutena or Medusa as characters but in all honesty i don't see that being possible for some reasons. 1 palutena is apart of Pit's final smash and medusa imo is too large a character. I mean she's ginormous in those trailers. Plus seeing as Magnus is suppose to be a sort of contrast to pit him being in would work well. Overall i'd ratehr see Magnus as a character and them putting someone like the Eggplant wizard in as an AT that turns everyone into eggplants for a short time.

And as far as customization goes i think they could do something along the lines of what either the stickers did in subspace or what capcom has done with SFXT.

And imo if sonic is gonna return they need to either get rid of his side-b and replace it with either the light dash or boost, or replace his down-b with the Butt bounce technique from sonic adventure 2.

YES! I was thinking the same thing. Give Sonic his boost as a Side B. I hope Sakurai is familiar with modern Sonic games.

I hope the Wii U has a decent controller option. I read that the Game Cube controller is not compatible. If that means our only choices are the Wiimote or the new "I-Pad" contoller I am going to be pissed!

Prepared to be pissed.

But you can still use the Classic Controller.

And the Bounce Attack originated from Sonic & Knuckles via the Bubble Shield, people. Give the correct game credit.

If I can use the Classic Contoller then I am fine with that. I just hate using motion or touch screen controls for fighting games. They don't give the precision needed.

Speaking of the shields, they should add Sonic's shields from Sonic 3 and Kunckles as items.

Uh, no. =P
The only things holding that from being a reality is the lack of analog support in the stick and that there's no secondary stick for the C-Stick (though I think this can become irrelevant). However, people in this thread hate it when I bring up other fighting games so I'll just drop it.

I really hope they get rid of FLUDD. And I'm not that crazy about DK's Final Smash.
someone on gamefaqs suggested that
the move in the end where he punched the Moon at you from DKCR should be his FS
.

I support this idea.

and Feel they should rework FlUDD to be more useful-switching to hover form in the air, Killing Pikmin, etc.
