While I loved how they tried with the huge Adventure mode in Brawl, maybe I could go with a simpler.... run around existing Nintendo universes, and fight each location's boss.

Granted, you could still pick an ally or two.. Or heck... you could even go with a "party" like in the SSE.
SSE + Adventure Mode - Great Maze = good.

If Adventure Mode talk is what you're looking for, then I point you to my signature. It's a long read, but what little feedback I've received has been mostly positive.

And when I say it's long to read, I mean it.

Yes, basically, a lengthier Melee Adventure Mode, but you can choose more than one character, like in the SSE. (You could choose the same character again and again to play as him only if you want too).



Ending cutscenes would be great. Make them funny too.

I dunno, for example, Pokemon Trainer challenging the Elite Four, and unleashing RIDLEY from a Pokeball or something. XD

I can't believe Sakurai just left out a whole bunch of stuff in the SSE, and then he posted it on the Dojo like, "HERE GUISE HOPE THIS HELPS WITH THE CONFUSION LOL." I mean, I wasn't exactly trying to be a critic of the continuity and sense-making of the story, but he just left out some major scenes.

3rd party bosses are a must. I don't care how, I want to be able to Falcon Punch Eggman's eggpod into oblivion.

(He'll most likely use the Death Egg robot though).

this was my only issue. on the other hand, adding those scenes in might have broken up the pacing of the storytelling. on the other other hand, they could've been added as extras, unlocked by beating Tabuu. some indication in-game that "this is what was happening" would have been good, that's all.

It depends on which character that has the voice acting.

Characters such as Snake, Sonic, Pit, Meta Knight, and the Pokemon characters, all would work fine with voices (although some of them do need better voice actors).

Other characters mostly just needs grunts or small lines. Samus should be one of these characters.

How about a mechanic where your shield is close to being broken you can roll to safety.
I'd prefer if it would be at the cost of some sort of meter instead of that condition because it seems to advantage for the attacker and not enough so for the defender.

While it's a good idea, don't count on people banning them from tournaments (right off the bat, at least).

Maybe as a separate mode where you alter each characters' stats as you please. You know.. there's Stamina Mode, there's Slow Mo mode, etc. We could have a Level-up mode where you spend coins, or ability points to rearrange each character's status, NOT affecting the main multiplayer experience.


Otherwise, like I said, these uber characters will be the new MKs and they won't be stopped after like 3-4 years when the community FINALLY comes to an agreement that they are indeed broken... And even THEN, not all smash communities everywhere will agree to ban them.

So... just as an unlockable extra feature for me. It would be fun though. Making Charizard super fast, though not particularly strong, or Bowser being able to jump as high as Falco.


Edit: I'm thinking of something like a user-defined Brawl -... MAYBE, if you could upgrade every character, then it could give a whole new depth to tourney play... But only if executed correctly. This would be really hard to balance IMO.
If they were never meant to be serious characters, then they shouldn't be allowed in tournaments unless it was one that called for exclusively these boss characters. If it's a boss version of a character, logic would indicate that the boss was deliberately made to be too good against the rest of the normal cast.

A user defined Smash seems like something rather crazy. How exactly do you go about customizing without making it too confusing, but not limiting in options? And if it's a separate mode from the main VS. mode, I can't see why they would be part of the tournament environment. Side tournament maybe, but not the main ones, IMO.

Have animated endings. Like PLEASE!
2D or CG animation?

Realistically, you can't go off of canon or Ness, Ike, and Samus would all be top tier by default.

I like the idea of Samus having multiple decent options while Zamus has a smaller number of options that are really good. Not sure how that would balance out though.

Muted ones who're regularly mute (Mario, Link) shouldn't talk very much. Some better be off with no talking at all. (Kirby)

What slight moveset nuances would you guys like to see for the veterans in smash 4.

Some of these changes should be used for the purpose of de-clonization such as falco's down b from melee to brawl

I would like toon link to have some different special moves such as his up b. It can be the deku leaf he used in wind waker and it can work similar to snake's up b

Both are very heavy zoning characters, just on a very different way. So I actually really really like Samus / ZSS. But at the very least I want Samus to be more like she was in Melee. With better (regular) recovery (Bomb jumping probably won't be there as it wasn't in Brawl, which sucked). Maybe a N Air that's a bit more like Melee's, but less powerful. And of coarse super combo and damaging Screw Attack (16~22% I'd like).

Just make PS Samus closer to how she was in Melee if you ask me. But at a minimum give her back her killing ability with her Missles and Smashes.

Yeah, I'm getting bored of beating Classic/Adventure/All-Star/Boss Battle just to see a still image saying "Congratulations." I want something more now. I don't care what it is just give me something to actually pay attention to at the end. If I had to care, definitely some cutscenes or a slide show with dialog or a mini story.

Brawl Samus would've been good if the Missiles where just a little better. :/ And the Charge Shot. I want Samus to be able to shoot uncharged beams as good as Lucario can use his baby Aura Spheres at higher %.

Yeah, but that's balancing for you. Alternatively, you could cut her weight down and let her have those powerful options, making her a glass cannon of sorts.

What do you guys think for a different take on bosses? Something like the Metal fighters, but how about a version of a playable character that was made to be deliberately broken. Like, a boss Capt. Falcon could have a nigh instantaneous Falcon Punch, or Mario's fireball turns into a flamethrower? Make them playable (but banned in tournaments obviously), and you're looking at a lot of crazy stuff.
This is a pretty good discussion topic. Anyone have any ideas for a playable type boss?

This could work. On expanse of some of her killing power on physical attacks. She could be made faster instead though.

But then I wouldn't know what to do with ZSS. For the most part, I'd want them to make her stay the same.
