New Smash Bros for WiiU

I just realized that in 2 days it's the 4 year anniversary of Brawl

Over all we are in a much better state than last year in terms of smash4. Lastt year we weren't even sure if the game was happening

Im thinking that this year's e3 could parallel e3 2006, in that we are getting an unveiling of the wii(now the wii u), and with that possibly a trailer for smash.

on the topic of mario characters, i think tatanga could be an interesting pick for a story mode boss.

I did too. My only dislike is that they could have done more franchise enemies than just Mario.

By everyone's logic against Waluigi for not being a "major" Mario character, Geno is far worse. Hell, even Pauline is better, and all she ever did was be a generic damsel in distress.

I don't want Waluigi at all but I would rather take him over Geno. However, I would take Geno over Waluigi if and only if Mallow is playable as well. It is both or nothing. For me, my wanted Mario newcomers go like this:

1. Toad
2. Bowser Jr.
3. both Geno AND Mallow
4. Paper Mario
5. Waluigi
6. Dr. Mario
7. Geno only OR Mallow only

Believe it or not, but I'd rather have both of them or only Pit than only getting one of them.

This is exactly how I feel about the goddesses, too. It feels wrong to have one without the other. It is like adding Mario without Luigi or vice versa. Or adding Bowser without adding Peach or vice versa. Or adding Ganondorf without adding Zelda or vice versa. Or adding Meta Knight without adding King Dedede or vice versa. Or adding Sheik as a standalone character without adding Zelda (it is fine for Zelda to be a standalone character, but not Sheik). Or adding Popo without Nana or vice versa. Or adding a Fire-type starter Pokemon without adding a Grass-type starter Pokemon and a Water-type starter Pokemon. All three starter Pokemon or nothing. The same is true for Plusle and Minun if they were pra_mai.

This is why I am not satisfied with Donkey Kong series. Adding Diddy Kong without adding Dixie Kong or King K. Rool. That is why I am hoping Smash 4 fixes this by adding both Dixie Kong and King K. Rool (Kiddy Kong as Dixie Kong's tag team partner would be a nice bonus with me). This is also why I feel that Geno should not be added without Mallow or vice versa. It is both or nothing.

I'd only expect Geno if they'll either make a new SMRPG, or a visual updated remake (think StarFox and Zelda 3DS). Otherwise, it'll always be a fan favorite pipe dream...

Oh, and I don't think Indie games suck (to be honest, the only one that I've raved over was World of Goo), but I do know that I'll never be buying this guys games.

It seems that a common debate is whether a character is notable enough to be included and how many games they have appeared in. While that does matter to a degree, I think people are putting too much stock in the argument. Sakurai has stated that how a character would play also makes a big difference. I don't think he is sitting there comparing how many games Bowser Jr. has been in compared to Waluigi or Sheik compared to Impa. The fact that characters like Ice Climbers and ROB got in show that he is not opposed to obscure characters. Besides, the main characters for the series represented are already in the game, so the additions are only going to get more obscure.

And if Geno is considered, then I don't think he will be compared to the other Mario characters. I am sure he will be treated like a guest character like Sonic and Snake.

Off topic here, but am I the only one who hopes Retro is working on an HD sequel to DKCR on Wii U rather than another entry in the Metroid franchise (I guess these aren't the only two options, but they're the most circulated).

I loved the Prime trilogy to death, but I loved DKCR even more. It feels like there's a lot of room for expansion in that revival: more Animal Buddies, the return of the Kremlings (I'd like to see them work alongside the Tiki Tak Tribe), and Dixie making a playable appearance. All in HD. I'd like to see the Returns idea turned into a trilogy. Good lord Retro is great at making games.

My take on clone newcomers:

Dixie Kong: Even if she is a Diddy clone, she will most likely have completely unique A-moves and throws (most likely involving her oversized pony-tail).

Medusa (or Palutena): Depending on whoever is revealed first, the other goddess will most likely be a hidden character. While I can see them sharing specials and their Final Smash, they will both most likely have different A-moves from one another.

Roy: Will have at least one-different special and possibly his own Final Smash. I can possibly see him taking a mix-up between Marth and Ike, borrowing A-moves from both.

Black Shadow: Takes Ganondorf's Melee/Brawl moveset, but also has the potential to possibly have one unique special move as well as some new different A-moves.

yeah, pokemon too. another colosseum-type game would be cool, but i'll take another battle revolution, it doesn't matter. i only want to see my kyurem and genesect up on my tv screen.

Not a bad idea. I'm snot "sold" on Genesect, but I don't oppose him. This promotion could happen to any character though (remember Roy).

It's not necessarily the same situation with Roy.
What I am proposing, is that you can download a Genesect from Sm4sh into B/W/B2/W2 after you unlock it.
Like what Ranger did for Manaphy.

Pikmin 3. I'd almost forgotten about it, and now I'm frothing at the mouth. It's been in development for sooo long, it has to be a Wii U launch title. I can only imagine how they'll work the Wii U Controller into it. And it'll be in HD. And Louie will almost certainly return, since the mechanic of splitting your Pikmin into two groups was such a hit in Pikmin 2.

So that means...

Louie for Sm4sh. Really though, I have a decent moveset for him. But he isn't too high on my want list, even considering my manic Pikmin fanhood.

Also, yeah, some new StarFox, F-Zero, maybe a sequel to Diddy Kong Racing if Rare allows. Or Killer Instinct.

...I'm still waiting for that Clayfighter WiiWare version to finish.

But if they want a very old game... Quest 64 could use a remake.(yeah, I know, it won't happen. )

Honestly, the only thing I'm holding my breath for is Wario Land 3 for 3DS VC.
I played the Hell out of that game....and would love to do so again.

You're not the only one Yuui. WL3 IMO is the best GB platformer ever created and one of the biggest defining reasons why I want to see more Wario Land-representation than WarioWare. I think I played that game through 3 times and yet don't enough of it!

medusa as the boss - as in, the big bad, crossed my mind. a dark goddess would be more than capable of bringing the likes of ganondorf and ridley together, and orchestrating all kinds of diabolical events.
