This is true.Americans don't like killer dinosaurs as much as Japan loves their Godzilla...
well, except for Mike Jones, Litle mac, (maybe) Dillon and uh......Nester? there isn't many famous US nintendo franchises they don't know about.Giga Bowser is totally doable as a clone of Bowser. But who for the other one? Also, let me rephrase; What character that is Western-only OR is ridiculously popular in the West(but nowhere else) would you have chosen? Keep in mind I'm looking for realistic enough answers. Also, maybe Master Hand?
@Diddy: I could see the Kirby guys, but Diddy Kong still had issues and wouldn't have made it in anyway.
Oh, I did too, trust me.I really, really, really, really, really wanted Diddy in Melee however... :/
My thoughts exactly.Seriously, though, f*ck Dr. Mario. It was the absolute worst idea ever, and he should never come back. I don't care if he is slightly better than Mario. That doesn't mean him being playable is still the stupidest sh*t that ever happened.
Doc is one of my favorite clones.Dr. Mario was a fun clone to play as. He had his own metagame and was a popular and worthy addition. He was also the only Puzzle Games rep we ever had...
Same. I want every clone back myself. I just want everyone from all 3 games playable no matter what(I don't even care if it's through the 3DS and Wii U versions via connectability or DLC) and a lot of new unique characters.Doc is one of my favorite clones.
(aside from Roy) he's a clone I want back in the next smash, including his super powered nair.
It would be really nice if they just wouldnt cut characters, in my opinion.Same. I want every clone back myself. I just want everyone from all 3 games playable no matter what(I don't even care if it's through the 3DS and Wii U versions via connectability or DLC) and a lot of new unique characters.
Oddly enough, he's my favorite clone. It would be really nice if they just wouldnt cut characters, in my opinion.
I'm hoping all of the clones get to come back, even Pichu.
My mistake on the Shadow Mario bit. He is a separate person... well, he's Bowser Jr., but still separate from Mario.Dr. Mario was a fun clone to play as. He had his own metagame and was a popular and worthy addition. He was also the only Puzzle Games rep we ever had...
Shadow Mario being an actual real version of Mario...Only thing he had in common was... the jumping abilities. He fought entirely differently from both regular and F.L.U.D.D. Mario. Seriously, man...
And why would Smash? It's less accessible that way. That might make sense for Fire Emblem, but Sakurai has made it blatant he wants the game to be accessible as possible. Making them pay to play as anyone specifically is completely against his ideals and wouldn't happen.Fire Emblem 3DS will have paid DLC.
that pretty much screams for them to make lip playable.Dr. Mario was a fun clone to play as. He had his own metagame and was a popular and worthy addition. He was also the only Puzzle Games rep we ever had...Shadow Mario being an actual real version of Mario...Only thing he had in common was... the jumping abilities. He fought entirely differently from both regular and F.L.U.D.D. Mario. Seriously, man...
That's kinda lame.Fire Emblem 3DS will have paid DLC.
Yep. Which, presuming he drops Doc entirely, would be a better solution, IMO.that pretty much screams for them to make lip playable.
He should stay cut because there are literally thousands of better choices for the development team to spend their time working on. As I (sarcastically) stated a few posts ago, you could make a Super Mario Smash Bros. game that featured all the different forms of Mario with the same model and basic moves, but alter their physics a bit and change one of their specials. Dr. Mario should never have happened in the first place because fans were screaming for so many other choices. I don't think that anyone was happy that Metal Mario got into Mario Kart 7 over lots of other good choices (and Waluigi, a series veteran), and the situation is almost perfectly parallel to Smash Bros.Yep. Which, presuming he drops Doc entirely, would be a better solution, IMO.
@Breadbug: He weighed more, his moves had very many different properties, and honestly, you don't play Mario the same way as Dr. Mario. That's more than enough of a difference.
Also, if the character is fun to play as, why should they stay cut? In addition, Sakurai made it clear that the Doc is either his own character, or he isn't playable at all. He won't make him a costume, even if it's logical enough. Hell, I'd be fine with him as a costume, but it unfortunately won't happen.
I've noticed. I'm pretty neutral (possibly more toward the positive) about him, but I don't get the hate.Waluigi is a bad word, Breadbug
Because people like OoT and Sheik. Duh.Waluigi is hated for a good reason.
Why Sheik isn't hated in a similar fashion is beyond me though...
IMPA!!!!
Ha ha you are on a roll today. You spelled Aipom wrong
yeah. only diffs were projectiles, and he couldn't Walljump but Mario could(which allowed him to do the super-freakling-hard-to-do-but-is-so-worth-it- upB walljump). He didn't weight anything more. Same exact weight iirc, maybe with a change of one point. And wheren't you a casual HyperFalcon? Casuals especially would say Mario and Doc are basically the same character. Only the proffesionals would say otherwise, and yes; it's only cause of TWO moves.
