Well, for starters, allowing for different groups would be the best place to begin. Allowing for 1v1, 2v2 (team), three group and free for all would be the best option. From there allowing groups to use stock instead of time would also be more fun, or at the very least stock with time.

So we could probably narrow it down to parameters for starters.

Match Format: 1v1, 2v2, 3v1, FFA
Format: Score, Stock, Coin, etc.
Num. of Stocks (if Applicable)
Timer
Items: On/Off

You might also be able to see 3v3 in the future due to memory, and also Kid Icarus might be able to test that to see if it's possible.

It'd only be limited to big stages though, battlefield wouldn't be usable.

Also, tagteam would be cool as well.

The With Friends mode should have private leaderboards amongst your Wii U friends, kinda like in MW2

People get better, but also having the option of viewing of all time would be neat as well

I wouldn't want something saying I won more matches than them, but they got better and beat me every time now. Just saying, I'd want something like that if you get what I mean.

Recent Statistics as an option you could say.

I remember Iblis suggesting that the leaderboards should be seasonal. I like that idea. The leaderboard would reset every so often (let's say three months) and everyone has to climb up to the top again.

Don't fall into that trap, Blueberry.

You can't use leaderboards as an absolute indicator for balance. Matchups are the answer really along with tournament results, but probably not so much as the Smash community uses them for the tier list. IMO, patching should be limited to hard coding out infinites and bugs. If you want a rebalance, you might as well add a couple of characters into the works to keep people hyped and interested.

Also, I saw your thread on chain grabs. It's sad to see that everyone has an infinite or so one someone or the entire cast and that people just accept that ****. This is why you need fail safe mechanics.

Yeah seems like every attempt at smashifying a mother location has been a flop.

Although Fourside was awesome. And saturn valley would be a plus. If anyone plays super smash flash 2, he put saturn valley in there and it was pretty great.

I like New Pork City though, just can't play someone who's mean else they camp and run, I played with FAE and we had some epic Lucas battles (LOL we tried to stay in most places trying to get infinite jab locks though xD generally around the bottom side then forces ourselves to travel upwards only finding another jab lock spot we tried at)

We always stayed in an area trying to jab lock, in the end we never got it though cuz we kept teching it or just getting out of it

Sadly, that's how it tends to be in competitive circles. However, you're always going to have people who like the character regardless. And in some cases, they may find ways to bring them into the limelight. While I don't follow the UMvC3 metagame (that's more of berserker's alley), I want to say this video brought back a lot of interest in She-Hulk after she lost a lot of damage options due to balance changes. A similar thing happened for Rose in Street Fighter IV.

Not necessarily. That's like saying Ryu and Ken are OP because there are a bunch of them in the top 100. Those characters are very popular so it can be misleading. Usually, the players can determine themselves who's the best.

SSB needs more neutral stages that are kinda differently designed you know, so people couldn't abuse spam as much, you could try to get away from it.

EDIT: Also, leaderboards would only help, I'm not saying they determine everything, but they could help with it.

This is needed, really, chain grabs are annoying, if you're grabbed within like 3 seconds of another grab, the character should have the chance for a grab break if times right.
