I don't want to say much on Skyward Sword, but.....

For those of you who played BlazBlue, you might be reminded of Lambda-11 with Ghirahim's daggers.

Those daggers that he has can make for a very good moveset. At the point I am, I'm reminded of Lambda-11's 5C. Other than that, I think he'd be a great pick for a character.

That, and Debbie is just fabulous.

I'm looking forward to fighting Debbie, so it's nice to see a positive input.

I don't see what SmashChu has been complaining about in this game. The combat, the characters, the music, how there's always the possibility of dying by common enemies, etc., it's just flat out amazing. Nintendo really outdid themselves. This game really is worth of the title of being the Zelda series' 25th anniversary game.

I need to go back and play more of the game. I've gotten through five big dungeons and I'm guessing I've got no more than three big dungeons left until I see the ending.

It's starting to sound more and more like everyone could get a revamp. Not just the Zelda series, but just about everyone. Zoning queen Zelda, MvCxPokemon Pokemon Trainer, Arwing Falco, Feral Wolf, Not Lame Link, etc. The possibilities are endless just from within the last couple of years. By the way, Link's new FAir should be that head strike from TP. If Sm4sh were to feature traditional blocking, it'd be an awesome crossup move.

Chris-Snake?--- ish

Melee air dodge returns
Shield can reflect projectiles (At some timing)
Traditional blocking implemented. While blocking attacks, you only take 1/3 of the damage (Unless the damage is 1%, you take 1% damage)
Traditional blocking is usable in air and ground

I can picture Mac to be like Iron Fist
[collapse=Ness]Neutral B - PK Flash

Stuns the enemy if you tap B only. If you hold B, Ness will shoot out a beam that deals 13% damage.

Forward B - PK Fire

Much more spammable

Forward smash - Homerun bat

Faster but weaker in terms of damage. The knockback is slightly decreased. The tip of the bat is still the sweet spot[/collapse]
[collapse=Snake]Neutral B - Grenade

Leaves a puddle of flames. If it explodes in the air, the flames fall to the ground.

(Contreversial idea) Forward B - Gun

Snake uses his gun and shoots with it. Deals 8% damage. You can shift the control stick at 9 or 3 to adjust the aim.[/collapse]
[collapse=Lucas]Neutral B - PK Love

P:M neutral B - alike

Forward B - PK Freeze

Same start up as vbrawl: PK Fire (Lucas) except... Once it reaches its maximum distance, it explodes and causes a temporary ice pillar (1 stage builder block long).

Downward B - PSI Magnet

This time... Instead of it absorbing and healing Lucas, it increases his damage in his PK attacks.[/collapse]

You still do reviews of character rosters? If so, I've been working on my "realistic" roster; if you wanted to look that over.

Zelda could use more range on her magical moves I think. Almost as if she had a sword is what I'm thinking, including disjointed hitboxes. Nayru's Love could use work to, as well as a good new down B. Or make Nayru's Love her down B.

I really like that version of PK Flash you made berserker. Ness especially could use work. He is almost a retro character himself by now, thus I'd like if they made him reflect Mother as well as possible. Lucas might not make it, so why not give Ness some of his moves. Like Ftilt, Up Smash (improve the yoyo for D smash though) Nair, and Utilt.

It also would be kind of cool if Mario and Luigi's footstool jumps did some damage. And DK really needs his roll move for dash attack, or Side B. Barrel throw might also work, as Side B and would be very iconic.

Needs a faster grab. Come out on frame 6 like most non-tether grabbers or extend the range by making her use her magic.

It'd be cool to see her shield as the crystal. (People who've played and reached that point should get what I mean XD) Make her smashes less multi-hit and quicker to the real knockback hit. The current ones leave way too much room for SDI. Dsmash just needs to go and needs to be worked on. Small light arrow for Foward B? That'd be sexy. Maybe charge it to release multiple arrows. Or after starting the sequence each b press releases an aerial.

I just recieved word that a Japanese Shaymin event was just released (if anyones interested).
Here's some revamps in some character movesets.

[COLLAPSE="Lucario"]
(B): Aura Sphere: Instead of just forward, how about diagnally? When he's firing the aura sphere, tilt the anolog stick upwards, and he'll fire it diagnally.

(B)>: Force Palm: Although it's very spammy and useful as is, if it could grab in the air, that would boost it's potential. Once he grabs someone in the air, he force palms them downwards, doing a meteor smash.

(B)^: Extremespeed: I can't stress this enough, man... This move needs to do damage, like Wolf's (B)^, but without lock, and more damage.

(B)v: Circle Throw: Remember Bowser's old Melee (B)>? Well, this works much like that, except he needs to be attacked first. The newest counter that could work beautifully. Once attacked, he swings very quickly around the opponent, and grabs them. He then does a full circle, swinging them, and using them as a weapon to anyone nearby, and flings them towards eyesight. They are flung forward, with huge knockback. DMG: 2% for each character hit and the weaponized grapplee. 9% for the throw itself. Increases with the special trait he owns.[/COLLAPSE]

[COLLAPSE="Pichu"]
(B): Thunder Jolt: The same as Pikachus, but jumps higher but goes less further. Like Lucas's (B)^ move, it goes through an opponent.

(B)>: Encore: He flatters the opponent, and the opponent can only use his (B) move for his (B) moveset. Works for 8 seconds. Also, the opponent must be 1/2 character space near.

(B)^: Quick Attack: Like Pikachu, but goes further.

(B)v: Reversal: If Pichu's damage taking problem returns, here is the solution. When used, Pichu throws a powerful tackle. Depending on the Pichu's HP, he'll do more damage. Unlike Lucario, this is not effected in anyway of the opponent's HP. DMG: For every 25%, Pichu does 12% more damage, while doing 5% normally. If he hits 100%, however, he'll do 100% DMG, with an almost OHKO attack, and he then becomes dizzy.[/COLLAPSE]

[COLLAPSE="Sonic"]
(B): Homing Attack: The same as Brawl, but after hitting someone, he auto locks onto a close opponent (Who isn't the one hit), and hits them. If there are three opponents, this connects three times.

(B)>: Spin Dash: The exact same thing as in Brawl.

(B)^: Bumper Bounce: He jumps onto a Bumper, and goes directly upwards, like in Brawl, except anyone under him will take a meteor smash.

(B)v: Light Speed Dash: He says, "Ready..." Just like in Sonic Adventure 2, and collects light energy. You, the player, guide a line of rings for 3 character spaces for as long as you want. Once you press the (B) button again, he'll shout, "GO!" and follows the ring line, and slices through anyone who happens to be nearby. If they are hit, they get stunned, before being launched. DMG: The Rings draw the opponents in, like a magnet. Once they are hit, they take 15% DMG (Because this move is easier to dodge). If you held the anolog stick forward just to get the character spaces filled, it would take 2 seconds.[/COLLAPSE]

With all of these revamped movesets. I must say it's funny how people thought my revamped Mewtwo moveset was weird. :laugh:

I must say that playing UMvC3 hurts after a while of playing with all the D-Pad motions (and button mashing :p).

Also Phoenix Wright for Top Tier. :cool:

While I was gone, someone doubted Ganondorf's appearance? REALLY!!!

Either that or a redesign like Pit.

But I'm still betting on his Samurai Warriors look.
I think all newcomers who have been around a few decades with newer games will get their newer look. Even without a new game, Pit still got a makeover.

Snake got his Metal Gear Solid 2 look and not from previous Metal Gear Games, and how Wario was in his Wario Ware clothing instead of his classic Wario Land
outfit. Both of these are examples of older characters getting their newer costume as their default costume. It should also be noted ROB was somewhat modernized.

Takamaru, I think, should have a retro outfit, but a (slightly?) newer look in my opinion would be a better default outfit. I also think Dixie Kong could use a slightly remade outfit, while her "Classic" outfit could be an alternate outfit. I also think a Tiny Kong outfit or two would be cool. I have said this repeatedly, but I think Radiant Dawn Ike should be the main Ike outfit in Smash 4, and his Brawl/Path of Radiance outfits should be alternates like what happened to Wario and his Wario Land costume.
COME TO THINK OF IT, K. Rool probably WOULD make a better starter, since Dixie is bound to be similar to Diddy in some aspects. You would also want two monkeys and a crocodile over three monkeys for the sake of variety. Yes, variety is the key to everything.
Even though we all agree Dixie Kong would most likely be an original character, I think this sums up why K. Rool would be a better starter than Dixie Kong (assuming both make it). New gamers would definitely want a crocodile playable over another monkey, even an original monkey. That may or may not be why Luigi, Ness, Falco, and Wolf aren't starters.

I just realized that after I get Skyward Sword, it will probably be my last video game purchase unless I buy a new game console.
Probably the same with me, aside from games that came out before it. I would consider getting the three Xenoblade games if they came stateside.
Below is a list of Wii games I want/am considering buying.
Wii games I will definitely get:
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns: Played it on my girlfriend's nephews Wii and nearly beat it in about 2 or 3 hour. Je asked me "how are you so good?" Years of DKC son! :laugh:
  • Wii Sports Resort
  • Mario Kart Wii
  • Takanoku vs. Capcom

Wii games I am considering getting:
  • No More Heroes 1 and 2: Played it, liked it a lot.
  • Sin and Punishment 1 and 2: Played it a few years ago. I can't forget it. It rocked.
  • 007: Golden Eye (Wii)
  • Wario Land: Shake It
  • Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

Any other suggestions guys=??? Any good Wii Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest games=??? I haven't seen a traditional Wii RPG I liked. Also, any good Wii Ware games or previously unreleased in NTSC Virtual Console games=???

PS: For the record, the games I have are Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Excite Truck, Red Steel, Wii Sports, and Brawl.

Overall, I enjoyed the Wii less than the GameCube. However, there were still quite a few great games for it.
I think the Wii has more "classic" games, and maybe one or two of those were multiplayer games with (what I consider to be) a lot of replay value. Compare that to the vast amount of multiplayer games with loads of replay value on the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and even the DS and PSP since the Wii's release. The Wii was simply bottom tier in this category. Having the least online features and online content definitely is a factor.
I'm all in for new retro characters, but I wish they could do more with them in actual games... We all still want a Ice Cilmber 3DS or WiiU right? I personally like the idea of Takamaru (am a sucker for samurais), am not too excited for Sherrif (don't like cowboys) but Muddy Mole seems ok, I guess.
Ice Climber is a terrible game. It doesn't deserve a sequel. ROB hasn't had anything good happen since Brawl. ROB needs to be in all future Mario Kart and Smash Bros. games if you ask me. Mr. Game and Watch had the Game and Watch Gallery series on the Gameboy Advance. Marth stars in two new Fire Emblem remakes on the DS. Roy hasn't left Japan, Melee aside. No Mother game has even gone to the Virtual Console, been released, or left Japan, about a million copies of Earth Bound aside.
Also, Ridley fans will be glad to here he got an 87.50% in approval.
I told you that Ridley would get a good amount of support. I forget what % I said, but I think I said about 65-75%. :p The Ridley for Smash 4 movement will consume ALL!!! :awesome:

[collapse=Sonic]Neutral B - Homing attack

No more ******** start up time. It's instant BUT you can only do it ONCE. Once you land on the ground, it resets so you can do it again. The homing attack targets opponents OR projectiles or items. It can ourpriotitize any projectile in the game.

Forward B - Boost

Sonic boosts forward. It deals only 9% damage but it's good for chasing opponents.

Downward B - Spin charge

Same as Brawl

Dash attack - Tackle

Sonic tackles the opponent. (You remember the running + crouch command in Sonic games?)

Down air - Sonic dive

Sonic dives downwards. This can meteor smash and deal 14% damage. (Remember the jumping + crouch command?)[/collapse]

That's cause you made Mewtwo... A SPOONY BARD :awesome:

Random question: Was Tron really nerfed to death?

Oh and fun fact...
Propeller Toad said:
I don't know if it would fit here, but I did find something ironic. Apparently in Japan, Toad has his own gameshow in centers known as "Mario Factory" (apparently like an arcade/Chuckee Cheese like area (if you heard of it)). Players can communicate to him (in full dialogues in Japanese) and play mini-games with Toad. I don't know how minor this is, but to think that Toad has something like this in Japan must be some indicator to his relevance to the Mario series and popularity in Japan. The interactive show is called "Kinopio Live" (or to us "Toad Live"). It's somewhat like that Mario interactive in Nintendo World, but with mini-games from what I've read. Toad is the only character to get this type of feature here.

I'm all for cool, flashy and awesome fighters who differ from each other but what I want are unique fighters (Like Wright in Ultimate)

HUH. That's weird. John isn't posting. Must mean that he's making some long post.... But aren't I the only one who posted here recently :I ? Does that mean he made a 2 - 6 paragraph post regarding my post....? INTERESTING

Hey, my post wasn't that long! Just 17 lines... of responses! :awesome:
I want The Desk from Smash 64's intro as a hidden unlockable stage
Who doesn't=??? That desk and the Smash 64/Melee room would be awesome. On top of that, every stage in smash 64 needs to be playable in Smash Bros. Wii U.
  1. Peach's Castle: Awesome combo stage. DAT BUMPER can make some unique and cool combos. This stage forces you to play the inside, thanks to the walls and moving bottom.
  2. Jungle Japes: A perfect team stage, given it's size, two levels (the top with two "ceilings"), and moving platforms in the center. The barrel is an awesome wild card!
  3. Hyrule Castle: Just a uniquely designed staged. Each part of the stage can have different combos, and the layout in each area is totally different from the last.
  4. Brinstar: Aside from the lava doing a crap ton of damage, this is a fun stage. Lava combos galore, and a lot of defensive happen here. It is not camper-friendly, either.
  5. Yoshi's Island 64: Perfect hit and run like a d*** stage.This stage could be great for a potential 4 vs. 4 match in a future smash bros. game, although it may be too big still.
  6. Dream Land 64: Voted the best smash stage ever. This stage is just designed perfectly, with or without the wind. There is nothing not to like here.
  7. Sector Z: The original "big" stage. The huge area allows for some great recoveries. It would be a perfect stage for a 4 vs. 4 match, if that ever was in a smash bros. game.
  8. Saffron City = A fan favorite. The random Pokémon can be an awesome end for combos. The middle is perfect, and the sides allow for early spiking.
  9. Mushroom Kingdom 64: The original party stage. The POW button is hilarious, and I love the transporting pipes. Again, this would be great if there was 4 vs. 4 matches.
  10. The "How to Play" Stage: Random, but fun. I love the design of this stage, especially since each side is different from the other (one side has the small blast zone).
  11. Battlefield 64: I like the polygon look and music. I think the layout on this version of Battlefield was in my opinion the most unique. It would be super awesome to play on.
  12. Final Destination 64: Not really needed, but the classic polygons wreak nostalgia. Imagine if a future Final Destination switched graphics from game to game! :cool:
  13. Metal Mario Stage: This stage was amazing. It had huge blast zones, sides, and ceilings to allow epic recoveries, and an awesome top level. This would be great to play on!
  14. Race to the Finish Stage: Random! :laugh: I "played" it with a few people several times on Kaillera, and it is just fun. Random, but fun. Great for a potential 4 vs. 4 battle.
After reading this, think about how awesome they would be in a future smash bros. game, especially if there could be up to 8 players! That combination would equal pure win!

Anyways, how was all of your guys' Thanksgiving=??? I hope every one of you had a good time, especially if you want Ridley to be playable in the next smash. :awesome: :troll: :glare:

To celebrate the now past holiday, I decided to take a twist on a popular song in said post-except I'm not singing it. I'm telling it. If you want to sing my following post, feel free to feel like an idiot! :laugh:

On my Thanksgiving, life game to me:
Twelve marshmallows I stole off yams (I don't like yams, but I love me the roasted marshmallows on top; I trolled those yams, and my yams loving siblings!) :troll:
Eleven pieces of turkey (that I devoured. I actually ate an entire turkey leg, and cut it up, which was delicious!)
Ten hours of good sleep :laugh: (I felt reinvigorated after working hard the day before. I woke up a happy man!)
Nine of my girlfriend's relatives that I feasted with (one of which was an adorable 9 month old baby that's only pleasure was giving people high fives)
Eight of my relatives I poked fun at (I always poke fun at my family though, but I do it relentlessly)
Seven hours of waking fasting (To make room for more food! It made the food taste more YUMMY!)
Six different car rides (I went three different places back and forth, and thankfully there was minimal traffic, which for the Bay Area is RARE!)
Five animals that I got to pay attention to (two annoying small dogs, one perfect small dog, and my two awesome cats that kill s***, who are way better than your cats)
Four cans of jellied cranberry sauce (YUM) Nobody else I know of likes this stuff, apparently, so MORE FOR ME! "YES!")
Three games of football to watch (The 49ers lost, but at least they're not the rest of the NFC West)
Two giant meals (one with my family, one with my girlfriend's, both of which filled my [now] belly full of jelly)
And one heck of a good time! :laugh:

Happy Thanksgiving/Black Friday every one! Hopefully you didn't waste your money on crap you will never use! Y'all probably did spend your money on such stuff realizing that! :laugh:

No, berserker1, I'm here too.

Honestly, I think Toad might really get in, but I'm not actually going to get my hopes up either. The Mario series could be finished for all we know.

For all we know my falcon. For all we know........

Well.... We're not even sure if Sakurai is actually aiming for the "core characters" (Unfortunately though, who only got 7 out of 8 of them- the last one being Toad). This is the mario series we're talking about after all anyway. Flag ship series = More characters... I guess.

@John : I know that already *Laughs* :awesome:

*****************

Seriously, can't anyone picture Mac to be like Iron fist?

Neutral B : Forward blow

Stuns/staggers the opponent dealing 10% damage

Forward B : Boxing rush

A --> A punch (4%)

A - A --> Double punch (8%)

A - A - A --> Double punch then blow (14%)

B or forward B during the combo --> Haymaker (12%) -- A combo finisher

Forward up or 9B --> Uppercut (13%) -- A combo finisher

Forward down or 3B --> Low blow :awesome: (5%) -- Crumples the opponent which leaves him for another combo finisher. If he does low blow again, the enemy will be knocked away instead

Downward B : Bottle drink

Little Mac drinks a bottle which makes him more powerful (+3% damage). If he drinks another one again, he'll spit it out for no apparent reason just to make the game balanced :awesome:

Upward B : Star uppercut

I only count 6(core characters). Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Wario. Unless you're counting Dr. Mario. And Toad technically is a move, so we can still say he's partially in Smash. As playable, no, agreed.

I only see 5 Mario characters, and 2 spinoff characters so far. Likewise, I'm not including the DK stuff either, since they're their own series and spun off... from the Donkey Kong game, etc.

I am so pumped for the next few days. Skyward Swords, comments to share with you, and Top SSB4 Roster Candidates v2 starting December 1st, 2011.

Oh and Thanksgiving/Black Friday was great. Too bad I had to work on Black Friday.

@Johnknight1: Given that I had low standards for online when I first experienced it, I thought Wi-Fi was decent. But now with it up, there are many serious issues I need to fix.

Oh and get Excitebots: Trick Racing. You won't regret it.

No. I meant the Big Mario 8 : Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Bowser, Yoshi, Wario, Donkey Kong. If you're gonna discount the non mario characters then it's only Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad and Bowser

The similarity is that all of them are important to the Mario series. Mario being the hero. Toad Failing to protect Peach and Luigi Being a ***** and being overshadowed by pretty much all the Mario characters being the sidekick. Peach being the ***** damsel in distress. Bowser being the fail he is villain, Yoshi being the ******** caretaker and support for Mario, Wario being Mario's rip off rival and anti form and Donkey Kong being some loser everyone considers to be part of the mario series for some reason one of the first characters and still appearing in spin offs such as Mario vs DK or Mario Kart. Yep. They're important and pretty ******** in their own way.

The slashed segments are for the lulz but it actually has some sense in it. Lol

Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong aren't Mario characters. They're Donkey Kong characters. Mario spun-off from the DK series, not the other way around.

Either way, DK is only appearing the Mario games because he knows Mario and they used to be rivals. It's pretty much a cameo at this time.

Moving on, since Dr. Mario counts as only a Mario character too, I'll go with the 5 true Mario characters(and Doctor Mario) for what we need.

So that leaves with 5 core Mario characters. As well as Wario and Yoshi(who are spun-off from Mario)

Then there's DK and Diddy, spunoff from the original Donkey Kong game.(who cameo in the games very often)

If I recall correctly, Yoshi was more of a "merge" with Mario than a spin-off. I think he had a game of his own and they decided to integrate him in Super Mario World.

Isn't Dr. Mario Mario? And how is he a core mario character? If you only count this "alter-ego", he only appeared in 3 games (Including spin offs... NOT INCLUDING MELEE) and Toad appeared in... um 999 games. Dunno. I don't understand the logic of discounting a character who appeared in most (Or all) Mario games and played a role in it (Major or minor) and despite that, is extremely popular and still appears in recent mario games from the list of important/core characters.

And plus, I know that Mario spun off DK of course. That's pretty basic for a mario fan like me

Edit: OH WAIT. Dr. Mario is Mario thus making him a core character since he's Mario but since he is Mario, he doesn't count as his own character.

Another edit: To make sure this isn't a discussion regarding character inclusion, it isn't by the way. It's just a discussion whether Toad is or is not a core character in the series (Which I find pretty or really ridiculous). MAN HF. Why do you have to bring up points that are so unique.... in some other way no one expected
and for some reason, usually disagree with. Which is why Brosis called you "HyperDisagreeable" as a tease name D:

I never said Toad wasn't a core character. I was referring to what was in Smash so far.

I refuse to call DK a Mario character because he isn't one. And never will be.

Now Toad, he definitely could get in. Also, the point was that Dr. Mario is an actual Mario character, and thus, I was counting him towards what you said and all. Moving on from that since we got that worked out.

6 Core Mario characters so far. We're just missing Toad for a complete set.

The Donkey Kong franchise spawned all that is the Mushroom Kingdom.

The true king of the jungle, and the king of all Nintendo.

Yep :)

Notice that Brosis has tease names for all of us and of all the things he could call me, he called me Toad.... :awesome: (Sometimes. Most of the time, he calls me Broserker)

@Crimson: He got his reward for spawning the mushroom kingdom......

1.) Being replaced by Bowser
2.) Being shipped into a jungle
3.) Instead of having 3 layer of life like Mario, he only has 1 so 1 hit.... He's dead :awesome:
4.) A nephew : Diddy
5.) A life. He has family and friends now

6.) Last and certainly the most, Tiny Kong

I don't know what you're listing there, because your edits caused you to go off on a tangent :p

Donkey Kong got his own private island with a wonderful wooden treehouse where he could live his own live. Depending on which cannon you go by, he grew old with his family of kongs and his animal buddies, and became cranky (literally) in his old age.
