Oh, wow. I just wonder why Sakurai didn't use that design for his Melee trophy...huh.

Anyway, I can only find secondary sources as of right now, but apparently Sakurai did have Muddy on a consideration list, as well saying that Sakurai thought he'd make an interesting playable character. Here's a link to the article, but I'm not sure how dependable the info is.

http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/molemania/molemania.htm

It's the third full paragraph from the bottom.

Anyway, if it IS true, then that is definitely in Muddy's favor.

I'm all in for new retro characters, but I wish they could do more with them in actual games... We all still want a Ice Cilmber 3DS or WiiU right? I personally like the idea of Takamaru (am a sucker for samurais), am not too excited for Sherrif (don't like cowboys) but Muddy Mole seems ok, I guess.

For 3rd party characters I'd prefer if they'd just kept it with Sonic and Snake. Was heavily against Sonic in Brawl, and didn't like Snake either when he was announced. I hope they don't consider both characters as top priority to be included, cause I'd rather have others take their places.

It'd be great if retro characters had more games being made. But... so?

Likewise, I got no problem with Third Party characters as long as they're cool choices.(and would sell) I loved Sonic and Snake in there, well, Snake. I didn't like Sonic's moveset much, but he was a really fun to play as character and I'm glad Mario and Sonic could face-off in a major competition. The Olympic(etc) was neat and all, but it didn't really have to do with what they're known for: Platforming.

For third-party characters, there are quite a few I would like to see in the game, but I'd like if they kept them to 3 or 4 max so that other Nintendo characters gets a spot.

Also, made a new Youtube video about SSB4's Top Roster Candidates v2 in here. Not much, but it's something.

I really wouldn't be so concerned about X characters being in due to consideration of sales. If the character can be fun, and isn't likely to spew out hate from fans (not counting the whole "took Y's slot" thing), I see why not.

And I'll likely be the last person besides maybe Toise to support Masks Link. It's just a dumb way to get Young Link back when we have his spiritual successor.

EDIT: On another topic, I have an idea as to how they can speed up the switching out on Pokemon Trainer. First, the switching is sped up to where the new Pokemon is coming out while the old one is being returned. I've always wanted to see the switch to be like the Vs. Fighters and PT is the only "transform" character where this is a viable option. Second, when switching, do either up or down/nothing on the startup of the switch. For example:

Squirtle - on point
Ivysaur
Charizard

Hold up immediately after doing down+B and you get this.

Charizard - on point
Ivysaur
Squirtle

Do down from this and you get.

Ivysaur - on point
Charizard
Squirtle

The layout is like this:
On Point
Down
Up

It'd be exactly like Marvel, but to make things easier, you have the order of your Pokemon underneath your health so you don't forget which Pokemon is in which slot. By speeding the switching up, you get to pretty much play like the entire team more efficiently.

@KumaOso: I like this idea. I for one like to play as Squirtle and Charizard a lot (not so much Ivysaur) when using Pokemon Trainer, so I won't have to put up with Ivysaur when I don't want to. Also, remove stamina and make the switching of Pokemons quicker.

If they'd do that, and remove the damn stamina limitation the trainer would be much better already.

Still feel they could've done better with the Pokemon's B moves. Squirtle's Water Gun should be doing damage, not much, but at least some. Or give him Bubblebeam or something for his B.

My ideas for PT:

Squirtle: neutral B should do damage. Side B should allow you to press B again for a water effect, doing more damage, and adds to the range. Squirtle has horrible range anyway. Maybe make it able to recover with the move also.
Ivysaur: Make the Razor Leaf faster, and very spam-able (think Link's Melee Boomerang wise). Little more range wouldn't hurt either, with less lag on some of the moves.
Charizard: Give B more range and more power. It's his signature move, so make it good. D Smash needs about the range of DK's Down B, and make him actually able to fly... It hurted my eyes to see Charizard flying like he did in Brawl. Maybe allow using his B while flying, cause why the **** not? New Side B also maybe, Rock Smash is too random. Give him Wing Attack or something (sending 2 small tornadoes out to attack).

I want PT to stay the same really. No new Pokemon, nothing.

@diddykong

For Ivysaur I agree, OR keep it the same speed with a few more leaves coming out for a little more damage maybe.
Charizard his B definitely needs more range and power

I think a problem plaguing a lot of characters is just that startup and recovery on moves are just awful. One of Link's problems is that his quickest attack has only 6 frames of startup (and that's slow by most 2D standards).

Another thing I'd like to see is the charging for smashes to be faster. As I posted in the backroom, imagine Link's charged Smash attacks having the Skyward Strike attached to it.

I say give Charizard Seismic Toss. I think another thing they could do is to move the switching over to the taunts area. The Pokemon really only need one taunt (that or make it like SF4 and select the taunt before the match). This way, the Pokemon have full movesets and nothing is compromised.

Muddy Mole? Never heard of him.

I'm out for retro chars joining. A few can, but not too much. Maybe <4 is enough.

My thoughts about the Skyward Strike are in the last page, or 1 after it back. It's all in spoilers though, but it seems most people don't mind? Anyways, yes Link is too slow now. If anything I don't think it suits him being the heavy, slow but "strong" character.

I suggested before that his AAA combo move should be better. Brawl basically put a new way in presenting the moves. Before they were just basically weak, almost useless jabs in previous games (only exception is Ganon in Melee) but in Brawl there where significantly many more characters with good AAA moves.

It would be nice if they could improve it even more. Making it perhaps more complex, like having a combo that goes like AA> tilt A, which'd be another move than the Forward A tilt but another move than AAA. But maybe make it exclusive to some characters (think Lil' Mac for example, as a boxer he should be having more jabs than others). Which turns me back to Link.

So what I kind of noticed is that Link's sword moves in Smash don't quite work like they do in Zelda. There's no real variation as like how in Zelda you could stab, or position your sword the way you like. And can usually follow it up with another slash or two before the enemy either escapes or attacks, even with the faster foes (if it didn't block of coarse). AAA for Link in Smash looks kind of... effortless so to say.

The first hit could imo stay the same, but I'd like it if the move could become more complex. Like I said different kind of combinations with AA> (slight) Tilt A kind of like how Marth's Side B works, but less variations and just 3 hits. Link's sword has good range, and this should be relatively fast. Could be good for doubling up some more % quickly at close range. Sort of like how it speeds up Ike's game with AAA.

Link could still stay relatively slow compared to other characters, but not with the intention of being slow. Mediocore knockback would also suit this move, so that perhaps at earlier % he could follow up with an Ftilt, or F Smash. F Smash already kind of works this way, but they should build up on it I feel. Even better, they should allow Link up to 4 'jabs', but maybe make the last move somewhat riskier, but more powerful, perhaps for finishing intentions for higher %. Aren't we all tired of always having to try with Down Air? (not that it's not an awesome move) In total the move could do up to 19% I'm thinking of, or perhaps more. 21% maybe even. Combos are a good thing.

Aerial B moves would also be great. Like Charizard using his B in mid air (taken that he could actually fly now) but still be able to keep gliding, allowing Charizard to follow up into an aerial tackle. This would make some characters more fun to play as while flying.

Could work really well for programming Ridley to! These characters shouldn't be the heaviest around (Ridley shouldn't be heavier imo than Charizard is now, like on scale), but if they made Ridley a slow heavy character on the ground (not even too strong I'm thinking, balance is everything), but a very versitale character in the air it could work. With some good B moves to help him. Like him having different Side B's on the ground, and in the air for example. Or aerial grabs? I actually really like KumaOso's idea of Charizard using Seismic Toss! This should work kind of like that.

But Up B also could use some variations.

Like Diddy's. In DKCR, the Barrel Jet works much differently than it does in Brawl. Maybe keep an secret "fuel" meter in Diddy's Up B, so you can hop around with it pressing jump all the time, or hold up B for a while like in Brawl, and unleash it all the time. Allow him to shoot peanuts while flying around as well, but this could make it risky... If Diddy would be in the air spamming all the time, using up his up B, his recovery would really suffer from this as you wouldn't be able to fully charge it after keeping in the air all the time. I like how Diddy is a high risk- high reward character, so this could affect his Smash persona better. And bringing up the Diddy / Dixie tag team again, this should really be the point where Diddy and Dixie would be different. They should stay sort of similar with the A moves, but the B moves should be different.

Moveset idea for Diddy & Dixie:

Diddy's moves should stay the same mostly. Keep B the Peanut Popgun like it is in Brawl, and change up his Up B as suggested above. But maybe make regular peanut shots do more damage, to make up for the (potential) loss of Bananas. If Bananas are gone, Diddy should still have a reasonable good projectile to make up for it.

Side B: Monkey Flip still, but this time, after Diddy succesfully grabs the opponent, you automatically switch into controlling (seperate) Dixie while Diddy holds the other character. If pressing A during the move, both Kongs preform the move, Diddy leads, Dixie follows (not at the same time, that'd be broken, but it could work on heavier characters or at earlier %s). After Dixie landed the blow, you play as Diddy again as lead character.

Up B is explained above, and side B should change between Diddy and Dixie as leading character. I thought of this before, but if they wanted, they could still add Bananas while switching the characters up. The animation should be as fast as Diddy dropping Bananas anyway. EXACTLY that speed it should take to switch between Diddy and Dixie. Bananas could be dropped in front and behind them when doing so, but maybe heavy nerfs (to the Bananas) are needed if it'd work like that. It's unknown if they are planning to keep Bananas as items anyway? And it's also unlikely that Sakurai doesn't know about how overpowered they are.

I'd prefer actually to not have the Bananas, but keep Diddy a strong character still.(Keep Down Air, Forward Air, Forward and Down Smash like it is please). Cause it'd be in most cases unlikely that BOTH Diddy and Dixie land the same move togheter. They should still work like an almost Ice Climber duo, but the Kong following should preform the move slower than Nanna copies Popo does. This would be EXELLENT if they made well use of the 2 controll sticks of the Wii U! Thus making playing with Diddy & Dixie and the Ice Climbers much different to other characters, allowing you to control BOTH characters. But not with all moves of coarse... That could end up as too broken, but if they manage to programm it well, I believe it would add lots of dept to the game itself!

Now for Dixie. Her strongest point should be the recovery of coarse! Her up B writes itself. The animation should be her spinning around while Diddy holds her feet, and similary Dixie would hold Diddy while he's flying the Barrel Jet. They should make it so that you can't do 2 recoveries though. As other differences between her and Diddy, she'd be the "safer" character. Her long hair should be used for moves, giving her more range than Diddy, but less finishing potental and speed perhaps. Her running should be slower than Diddy's, but not much, and her jumps higher, but not too much. And perhaps make her slightly lighter to, but a little smaller frame as well as Diddy. Her running attack shouldn't send characters upward, but she should have a few nice juggling moves as well. As for B moves:

B: This is where I'm kind of stuck at, but perhaps Barrel Throw? You know, as the items we already have for the longest time. Make her throw a Barrel! And perhaps make Barrel Cannons appear some times as well! This would give her a quite powerful move, and a projectile. To avoid brokeness if they must, they could also programm it that the Barrel cannot be dropped, so that Diddy couldn't use it as a shield, or characters could grab it from you. But I think Diddy and Dixie should be a tad little lighter as well, so perhaps that could balance it even IF the Barrel would appear on the stage like it was an item.

Side B: Kong Throw. Yes another throwing move, very similar to Diddy's move in speed as if you'd press A during the move in Brawl, but more powerful. And afterwards it puts Diddy back in leading positon as well. Maybe even a little sad, but it could be used as a last resort recovery move as well?

Anyways, I said this before but I don't care much for new characters. If they can improve the ones we have, I'd put that on higher priority. More difference between characters play styles to. Damn, this is gonna be the best Smash ever I hope...

I agree with Yani. They'll make Dixie too closely connected to Diddy in some way, except (B)^ and a couple other moves, making yet another, maybe better, aerial dancer.

Ridley has FANS?! :awesome: Who would of known?
Ridley is one of the Top 5 most wanted characters for Super Smash Bros. Of course he has supporters. The only ones that can come close to rivaling it are Little Mac, King K. Rool, and Isaac.

And tomorrow, Victini will be on Create The SSB4 Roster. If you want him to make the roster, vote for him on GameFAQs (directed towards asage94).

Yes. When Create The SSB4 Roster - Day Twenty-Six (Ice Climbers and Victini) comes up (or something like that), you can choose to vote for or against Victini.

Also, to asage94 and Steam, let's not start an argument.

Ok, so just say "I want Victini for the Roster", right?

Don't worry, their won't be. I won't allow it.

You just have to say "yes" or "no". You are, of course, free to participate in today's round and other days after Victini gets in.

*NOOB TIME!* What's On-Deck section? I don't usually get on GameFAQS, so can I have a link? Because Im a gamefaqs noob, please?
On-deck is a place where the most nominated character goes and the next day, they are up for rating. During that time, you can predict what the on-deck character gets the next day.

Good enough..?

Also, to everyone's ears...
I am back, and ready to defend Victini, and Victini only.

You are free to explain why you vote "yes" for Victini, but if you really don't feel the need to explain, you can just say "yes".

Also, not to sound rude, but you've never really left.
I visited, but that was it. I decided to actually come back yesterday, when I talked with Serebii and Smogon about Victini. Now, I'm set and rdy to revive the Victini Blog, and the Essay is still canceled, for now. There's another reason, but that needs not to be announced here (I'll PM u about it.)
