@luco question about the lightning If it is powershielded will it deflect or just be powershielded and if hit a regular shield how much pressure would it do to it? I know im getting technicial but still.

@MO Eh maybe or they would just default it by putting regular hearts there >.> lol

I'm back from our campus tournament. I lost first round, I was out of practice and I got stuck with one of those ****y Gamestop controllers. It was a joke though, they didn't have any rules, items were allowed, any stage, and the best player was a Falcon who loved to Meteor Smash.

So what did I miss?
*starts crying* lol nothing really.

Thinking about it now, I think that the fruit for the DK characters are a bad idea. So how about a barrel they jump in to heal them up, or Cranky Kong inventing a "healing potion" and only being able to make three?

I thought Brawl's event matches were absolute ****. You shouldn't be able to SET difficulty. IT'S SUPPOSED TO GET HARDER. On top of that, they just weren't even that cool.
Having a difficulty option actually makes it so that almost anyone can clear the Event Matches. That's not a bad thing by any means, but it would be dull if none of the unlockables involved clearing the events on a harder skill level.

Maybe even one requirement for unlocking newer Event Matches would be to clear the available ones on harder skill levels, along with unlocking the proper characters.

And besides, I won't lie, half of them were hard to me! On Melee AND Brawl, haha! Maybe I just suck. Oh well. I like the idea of beating certain events at certain difficulty levels to unlock MORE events. That poses a challenge right there. They should also allow us to make our own event(s) too. Me and my friend usually make our own in Final Destination, making up a BS storyline hahah: "It's up to Dr. Mario and Marth, an unlikely alliance, to destroy the evil warlock, Ganondorf". Gives it more of a...home-made...feel to it.

'Naners. That is all.

I'm one in the camp that believes that Event Matches don't need to be restricted by accessibility.

But I will admit that Event 36 in Melee was a total ***** to beat

Discussion. :p

Wait, seriously? Sounds like a meh tourney to me.
Yep, in fact it was more than a meh tourney. Turns out the prize was Mario and Yoshi dolls that were glued together. :p

They didn't even have all the stages unlocked.

I just hate myself since I know I could have done somewhat better if it wasn't for the **** controller I got. It was pretty one sided for anyone who got stuck with it.

@ Puff

In the Pikmin games, if Olimar got damaged, he'd go to his ship to heal. His newer ship from Pikmin 2 (the one from Brawl) has a detachable top that can fly around and talk. It could easily just hover in place, and when Olimar presses A, he heals. Only works 3 times, of course.

Thats seems like a good idea.

Anyother ideas for other characters anyone?

That's not even the most depressing part:

At the near end, some girl tripped and hit her neck on a chair. Now they got campus PD and an ambulance there since she can't get up or move her body.

Not the highlight of my day. :urg:

Well, maybe there could be some Event Matches, which you can only unlock by clearing certain Event Matches in Hard mode.

These so called Expert Event Matches would be restricted to the hardest skill levels, and if you clear them all, you'll check off a checklist objective; Clear all the Expert Event Matches.

In fact, you could unlock something major if you pull off this task.

To separate normal events from expert events, the expert events would be numbered as E01, E02, E03, etc., while the normal events are numbered 00, 01, 02, 03, etc..

Hmm, I'd say the lightning would do a fair deal of pressure to your shield, perhaps about the same as DK's super punch. On the other hand, if powershielded, i'd say it could be deflected. In that case i suppose it could also be absorbed/reflected by fox's reflector, but the problem is that the lightning is instantaneous and can strike anywhere, plus the only warning you'd get is a flash of light on the screen about a second before it strikes, so it'd be luck if you deflected/reflected/absorbed purely on where the lightning hits.

Meaning the lightning itself would be pretty damaging if it actually hit you, with good damage and good knockback.

For the different series:

Mario: Mushrooms
Donkey Kong: Bananas
Yoshi: Fruit/Apples
Wario: Garlic
Legend of Zelda: Heart Container
Metroid: Energy Tanks?
F-Zero: Refuel Station?
Kirby: Maxim Tomato
Pokemon: Full Restore
Star Fox: Supply Boxes?
Pikmin: Olimar's Ship
Mother: Beef Jerkey
Ice Climber: Eggplants
Kid Icarus: I think they used hearts, too...any other ideas for this?
ROB: Batteries?
Sonic: A set of rings/Chili Dog

Any ideas for Fire Emblem and Metal Gear? I don't know much about them. Also, any ideas for Game and Watch?

@Opossum: KI uses Chalices (cups of healing water). FE uses healing staffs or healing squares or castles (you place a unit on them and next turn they get come HP back.

EDIT: Vunerary. (How can I forget that? lol)

@Try-Hyphen: Holy... crap. Wow, worst tourney ever. Even some of the meh ones I've been to and hosted still had good rules and prizes. Seriously, two dolls glued together. A poor set of rules. The courses aren't unlocked.

Jeez, how hard is it to actually run a tourney with a completely game and SEMI-decent prizes?

Yep I had one crazy night. Ironically the planners said they sucked at Brawl so that's why they didn't have it. The noob-est noobs you may ever see
and I lost to that. lol

They hadn't even heard of a Tier List, let alone know what one is.

What are some ideas for food for potential newcomers from new series?

Little Mac could have Doc's chocolate.

Muddy Mole could have...hearts. Or a recover potion. They look cooler.
