Cassandra, Astaroth, or Nightmare. These are the only acceptable Soul reps in my eyes.

It's still between the two Icons of the series, Ivy and Nightmare. The only other characters I could think of would be Mitsurugi (Katana weilder) and Cassandra (Oust).

Speaking of which, Glass Joe could be a humorous Assist Trophy, where whenever he says "Viva le France" (at least, I think that's what he says), you can knock him down, and anyone caught in the knockdown could be sent flying at low angles.

I've played PO so I see what you mean and that would work as well.

But Hippo is one of the more known characters from the game, thanks in part to being memorable due to his fight and Captain N. So overall I just think he's more likely to make an appearance.

I guess that explains your reason for having King Hippo as a boss. I'm just pointing out that an Assist Trophy role would also work for him.
