Sakurai really had a moveset for him? All I remember is him discounting him for not having the FIGHTING SPIRIT. Goodness I hope his dash attack was falling on his face after a spell of bad luck. U-Smash should have been showing off a fish. Or tossing some trash away.

I was waiting for you before we started, but I already finished my opening argument[COLLAPSE="My argument"]One thing Victini has is movies. Victini's two movies Victini and Reshiram and Victini and Zekrom were released on July 16, 2011, which will be the closest movies to the start of development (I doubt development has started yet). Note that Lucario's movie was the closest to Brawl's development on July 16, 2005 and he got in. Following this logic, Victini should be next in line (although due to competition, it obviously isn't). Victini is also one of the only Pokemon to be the star in two movies; a feat that only Mewtwo has accomplished as well (not to mention Victini's movies were both released in theaters whereas Mewtwo's first movie was in theaters and the second was an anime special). Victini is also getting a limited 300 movie theaters release on December 3rd and 4th, 2011 and it seems to be the main movie of the 5th gen. These things are coming nicely together, even before SSB4's development started.

The similar body argument has frequently been used for a reason why Zoroark may get in and Zoroark supporters are right in that it does help his chances. However, Victini also has similar body structure to other Pokemons that have already been playable, which is Pichu. As such, Sakurai may be more comfortable with implenting Victini in due to the body structure that is similar to Pichu then it would be if Victini had a totally different structure. Overall, Victini also benefits from having similar body structures of previously playable characters.

One major argument that frequently comes up is the Mew-like argument. Given the pattern that has emerged that Mew-like Pokemons get the Pokeball treatment, it is a valid point. However, it is just that, a pattern. There is no rule that states that a Mew-like character cannot be playable, so it is an eligible candidate. Victini is different in that he doesn't usually levitate like the others but instead uses its feet. Look at the sprite in Pokemon Black & White. You will notice that Victini is shown on the ground and standing on it. Whereas the others tend to float and levitate. This would make it difficult to see Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, or Manaphy as playable character. But because Victini does not have that disadvantage, it is much easier to imagine it fighting.[/COLLAPSE]

It wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at everyone holding Saki on a pedistal. Like, being as popular as Little Mac, Isaac, and Tom Nook. Well, essentially S&P being as popular as Punch Out, Golden Sun, and Animal Crossing in the US. Which it isn't.

Kirby has always been a "My first nintendo game" kind of game series, but there are challenges in dreamland 2 that took me at least weeks to solve. Combinations of animals/ powers to get to the rainbow drops.

Epic yarn basically gives you the answer to everything. There is nothing challenging, and worse - you can't die.

Sin & Punishment is a great game. Wonder why the character didn't even spark a LITTLE curiosity to some people.

Character aside, an N64 game that never reached western shores, getting a western release for the first time. I was immediately all over it. I watched footage first, and bought it asap. I still replay that game (SP 1 and 2). It's loads of fun, the characters are really good, the action's intense, and the story is... well, it's confusing as heck.

Saki for Sm4sh.

I'd say they all have fair chances. Isaac has a very high chance due to the new Golden Sun game. Same with Starfy. Not sure about any new games lately for Ray.

I don't know about Little Mac, Issac, and Ray, but Starf is another story.
He has had five games, one with a tie-in with a prominent Nintendo character(Wario in Stafy 3) and one recent international release.
He is well liked in Japan.
It's easy to make a moveset/Final Smash for him(heck, even I did it).
He was an Assist Trophy.
He had his alternate colors in his own game's multiplayer.
He is very unique as a fighter.
That's what I think, anyway.

It's too bad Ray's series didn't do so well, and is, at the very best, on hold currently. I think he would be such a great fit for Smash. It's really too bad he's not that popular.

Little Mac - I see him as our Takamaru, wanted in the west but could care less about in Japan, and vice versa. So I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai used them both in order to satisfy different tastes.

Issac - I'm not quite sure as we haven't gotten into a really good discussion on him yet. But he does have a very good chance (I guess).

Starfy - With his new game being worldwide that majorily increases his chances and revelvancy, but I just haven't seen as much of a request for him as the other ATs.

Ray - He would be great for Smash, but he's at the bottom right now seeing as all the other AT characters have received new games and have been getting a lot more attention.


Also how many of the AT characters do you expect to make it in?

I'm guessing about 3.

Pokemon Stadium 3

In it's basic form, the stadium resembles the waterfall coliseum for Pokemon battle revolution. Here, the hazards are lacking, and the level is calm. A serene battlefield, focused on throwing punches and the clanking of swords. You can be KOed from either sides, as well as the opening in the air. Behind the battle is a lush green setting accompanied by a misty waterfall. After a while though, you will notice the foreground, as well at the natural beauty in the background change.

Ghost – Here, we would have a foggy setting with greyer colored everything. This feeling of intimation and well, dead. On the left we have a few headstones, with e Sableye poking his head out from the side of one of them, occasionally his ruby eyes would glint, and he would snicker. A black spiked, barred fence would be on the right. Here a frightened Litwick would occasionally look behind it, to see if anything was behind the fence. On the other side you would see a pair of glowing red eyes, and slowly, Litwick would look behind itself only to be scared by a Gengar yelling and sticking it’s tongue out.

Hazard – Fog and Swipe. Sableye will occasionally pick an item up from the stage, and throw it at the player. The fog can make it difficult to see at times.

Fighting – Matted dirt with a few patches of grass would cover the floor. Here, we would see an anciten coliseum site. Now, only pillars are left to remind the Pokemon that great and mighty fights once were duked out in this area. On the right we have a Machoke and Hitmontop battling one another. As they practice, occasionally, one will get the upperhand and whatnot. Perching on the pillars we see a Medicham, and Tyrogue meditating, trying to keep their balance, you know, out with the bad and in with the good. Fighters live by that, ya know. Lastly, A Gurrdurr would be lifting heavy fallen pillars, which he may accidentally drop on field, which would rack up damage, and of course change the layout of the field.

Hazards – Sparring pair and pillars. Pillars will pretty much KO you, and from time to time Hitmontop or Machoke will trip onto the field, which can hurt someone.

Bug – A Hustle and Bustle feel comes fromm a vibrant forest filled with some of the cutest of Pokemon. In the airspace, Butterfree, Mothim, and Shedinja flutter about together. In the center of the stage an Ariados has made herself a web. A massive one. To the right you can see a silent killer. Genesect is looking around, suspiciously. Occasionally, Pinser, Krikitune, or Ninjask will attack it, only to be swiftly defeated.

Hazards – Spinkles and Sting shot. Touching one of the flying insects will cause paralysis, sleep, or poison, so be careful. Ariados tends to string shot at times, which leaves the ground sticky. You won’t be able to jump in the stick, and will generally walk slower.

Psychic – Purple tiled floors and a darkness are felt throughout this stadium. To the right we have Alakazam effortlessly bending spoon after spoon. Beside him is a Gardevior. She is expnding, and deflating shields. The fluctuating barriers sometimes seep onto the stage, where all projectiles will bounce off their walls. To the left we have Beyheeyem looking to the sky, in hopes to connect with the ones from above. Occasionally, the Alien spacecraft will flicker lights over him, eventually he will rise into the air, and never be seen again. He is next to a prophet Pokemon. Xatu will try to foresee the winner of the battle. He takes over the scoreboard and spells out his prediction with Unknown letters. (He will use your custom name even). In the center of the stage we will have Mewtwo or Deoxys. Mewtwo will watch the battle, and comment. Snicker at someone losing, “Good” someone who is doing well ect. If it’s Deoxys, he’ll sit there and change forms, zooming around the air space.

Hazards – Sheild. Gardey can use her shield to block projectiles ect.

Well, if you're right, and these 4 have the best chance, then all of the characters you listed except Ray will make it, making me a happy camper because of Starf.

On Starfy's (still Stafy back then) assist trophy page, it doesnt sound like Sakurai likes him much. He talks about him being weak, the fact that he can be attacked, and mentions thinking as to why Stafy is there to begin with.

For some reason it feels like Golden Sun isn't a very supported franchise. Isaac did make it to AT status, so that has got to mean something.

I could really care less about Starfy. If he's in, that's great. I just don't think his performance as an AT was all that good if you ask me. (2nd most useless AT only after Tingle doing nothing).

I'd like this guy to be in, but I demand a resize. I have an issue with petit characters.

Really the only two minor series heroes that I see get a lot of support are Little Mac and Isaac. Saki comes in at a distant third. The sad thing is that Ray was actually one of the most requested newcomers for a new series during the pre-Brawl era. Starfy's popularity never took off despite having his game internationally released. Lip will always be niche in terms of support unless she appears in another Panel de Pon game.

I am very unsure about what Sakurai is going to do for Smash 4's newcomers.

For ATs, I am expecting only two. Little Mac and one of Isaac/Saki/Starfy.

@Shortiecanbrawl: Do the entire environment change like what happens in Castle Seige? I'd like to see that done with Pokemon.

@ChronoBound: I think Saki gets a lot of request for playable status (at least from my observation). A third, but a closer one.

Ray is in 4th and Starfy is in 5th. But I'm starting to think that Ray may not be feasible and it makes me sick thinking about it. It's too bad Ray supporters gave up.
