Ness is an O12, no way he's going. I like Lucas, too. The Masked Man is also a really interesting character, but the series isn't popular enough to warrant 3 characters.

Exactly, since the series is already semi-dead from lacking a new game or even a remake for that matter, I really don't see how it would even warrant 2 slot, 3 is worse, I'd say cut Lucas and include Masked Man or just bring Ness by himself, Lucas in my opinion is a waste of a slot, even if he is "luigified"

The Pokémon confusion continues!

Lucas brought out his moves with his standard attacks and PK Freeze. Nearly all of his standards are original (which is something I can't say for Mario), and his style is completely different from Ness.

Honestly, Lucas is the most original clone. But I do agree-more Mother 3 moves need to be implemented. I think his PK Fire should be changed, along with maybe his PK Shield thing to something actually useful outside of doubles.

Give him the B moves he deserves then. I can not stress this enough.

Now, say Genesect beat BOTH of them. I would DK Mr. Sakurai T_T

Screw Zoro and Tini. I want some UFO HEAD.

Being "cute" or "legendary" does not hurt a characters chances. Otherwise, Jigglypuff or Mewtwo would not have been in a Smash game.

Also, the Mew-like Pokemon of the 4th gen is Manaphy, not Shaymin.

The series warrants two spots because of it's importance. The series is the basis of Pokémon, where most of Pokémon got it's ideas, and is very popular in Japan and in certain serious Nintendo fan corners.

On top of that, the series' sales probably aren't much worse than Star Fox's, which has 3 character slots, and a lot more dull characters (honestly I dislike every character that isn't Fox or Falco).

Plus Ness is already tenured, and Lucas represents new blood, so...

I agree, although I kinda like him having PK Thunder. Maybe give him PK Love.

Yeah Zelda got the "Master Sword" scene, but that was about it.

Donkey Kong got some boring jungle and a boring river.

Star Fox got furries.

I wouldn't say the Master Sword scene. Even if it was just between Mario and Link, both fighting for their loved ones was something unique.

Either way, I wish more characters played a better role. And to be fair, a lot of Donkey Kong is "jungle and river". It wasn't terrible, but at least it fit.

Yes. What about his electric abilities from M&L? Or should we stick with th Iconic green fire? Why don't we have the fireballs move in a different pattern? Or him be able to rapid shoot them, but they work like Fox's lazer? Or something. As for his up B.... make it involve the vacuum. Done.

Lucas does not feel like a clone to me. Lucas's PK Fire hits the opponent once but it has a good knockback while Ness's PK Fire stops the opponent and hits them multiple times. The center of Lucas's PSI Magnet can actually hurt the opponent on contact but other than that, they are both the same. Lucas's PK Thunder can pass through opponents and he can hit them multiple times while Ness's PK Thunder cannot pass through opponents and he can hit them only once. Lucas's PK Freeze moves faster than Ness's PK Flash and it freezes opponents instead of blasting them away. They may have similar movesets but their playstyles are so different. I have to say... I actually enjoy playing as both Ness and Lucas... usually I prefer one character over the other like... Toon Link over Link, Link over Young Link, Wolf over Fox, Fox over Falco, Ganondorf over Captain Falcon, Pikachu over Pichu, Dr. Mario over Mario, Marth over Roy.

Again, Lucas has the least "same moves" of the character a clone is based off (unless you think Lucario is based off Mewtwo, which he clearly is not).

Dr. Mario, Luigi, Young Link, Toon Link, Ganondorf, Falco, Wolf, Pichu, and Roy are all much more like the character(s) they are based off than Lucas.

Yeah I agree. Luigi needs to be changed. And make his up B involve a vacuum, but leave the "Sweet spot" feature because it's cool.

Hmmm... well, the GBA games may be hard to come by... but if you got a DS or a 3DS, you could pick up Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. I actually enjoyed it and I thought it was pretty good. I had a stage idea based on that game. I know I have mentioned it before on this thread or the old SSB4 thread.

If Mii's are not playable, I would say they would be the successor. Sakurai will likely try to incorporate Mii's into the battlefield in some way.

I can argue nearly all of that, especially Zoroark's popularity going down from now to SSB4, (Remember Mewtwo? Movie: 1998 - Melee: 2001) but it would be mostly pointless unless I'm arguing with Sakurai himself. All that did was just show me exactly how little Victini has over any other Base 600 Pokemon. Aside from being 5th Gen, they're completely interchangeable and all that blog did was stretch Victini's few notable traits until they were wide enough to convince some 15-year old that Victini should be in Smash 4.

I could do the exact same thing with Oshawott or even Stunfisk.

There is a rumor that the man who runs Serebii.net sent Nintendo a letter pre-Brawl on why Mewtwo should be excluded from the next game. I agree with you on the futulity of trying to argu some points. Unless I am debating with the developers I don't really care if random user 104 disagrees with me. The only opinions that matter are Sakurai and his team.

I don't care who gets in.... Matthew or Isaac, Isa or Saki... they both have the same abilities in their respective games. Hell, they look pretty the same... they just have different clothes. For all we know, they could just put in Matthew in SSB4 but his default costume is Isaac's costume just to appease the whiny Isaac fanboys or vice versa. It is like fighting over who gets in: Ness or Ninten. I just want a Golden Sun protagonist and a Sin & Punishment protagonist to be playable in SSB4.
