NYTE Update:

The original post that you all probably read before which I'm about to quote again below

And my very sexy Arizona boyfriend guaranteed us housing.

We can either depart early Friday morning (like 6 am) or Thursday evening instead. I prefer the latter. Either way, we'll squeeze in practice at someone's house beforehand AND make the (Friday) Pre-NYTE tournament with Mew2King guest starring. Also, I have an important biochemistry exam at 9 am Monday. So we'll depart Tucson no later than 11 pm Sunday. If you want to go, you must get school/work off for Friday/Saturday.

II. MONEY AND OTHER PREREQUISITES

I will be conservative with estimates on all categories. Tucson is 450 miles away, my 2008 Toyota Corolla gets 35 MPG highway, and I project gas prices at $3.50. If you do the math, the round trip will cost $90. Divided among 5 of us, we'll settle on $20 per person. We're going to In-N-Out Burger at LEAST twice, so I expect you to bring $10 per day for food. So $35-40 should cover food. You decide the entry fee costs, with a price floor of $20 on venue fee.

$20 fuel + $35 food + ~$35 fees = $90. To road trip with us, you need to (1) have at least $100, (2) promise to shower daily, and (3) represent NM well. [/COLLAPSE]

If you guys weren't paying attention earlier, the twins got screwed by their work schedules, so they're forced to depart at a different time - Friday, April 6, at around 9:00 pm. So that means everyone in their car will miss the Mew2King invitational. Not to mention they won't have a comfortable night's sleep and I worry everyone in their car will underperform on Saturday. So, I predict some bitching and moaning about who's going in whose car. I think the arrangement I presented above is the optimal one for everyone.

Yes, Walker, Rob is housing us. Also, Dylan is hosting this Friday >_< If you guys still want it, I'll host. Finally, should I enter melee at NYTE? What do you think? Give me an honest answer. Because frankly, I don't care :awesome:

MAKE SURE TO REGISTER BY SUNDAY IF YOU WANT TO COMPETE AT NYTE!

You should enter Melee IMO. While this isn't as big as Genesis/Apex, I can't imagine how useless I'd feel if I didn't enter.

No, register the day after so you can pay me 5 extra bucks. :D If you'd still like to pay 20 dollars for venue, I suggest you sign up before 12:00 am Sunday.

Neil, enter Melee. I'm not doing Brawl doubles because I'd rather just keep the extra few bucks - money's tight right now.

Walker, I'm bringing my 3DS. I only own Mario 3D Land though.

NYTE UPDATE 2

SamTheGlide also dropped out.

As it stands, we have 9 people confirmed to attend NYTE. Which means either (a) we have 1 extra spot available in my car or (b) it'll make the trip more roomy - but there's going to be an issue of favoritism. Who gets the good night's sleep and who doesn't? Who gets to attend the Friday tournament and a whole day of casuals and hang out with AZ more and who doesn't?

In the legendary words of Davis, people are so ****ing unreliable.

Meh. Whatever. I would just continue with the arrangement I posted earlier. In other words, option (b). I don't anticipate anyone else in ABQ suddenly wanting to go to NYTE. Also, I pre-reg'd for Melee. Even though I didn't enter at GENESIS2 and felt very useful ^_^ And no worries tekkie, more melee neckbearding for me!

We're leaving Thursday evening, and I've got class until 5. So we probably won't be in Socorro until like 7 or 8 pm. And you won't get back home until early Monday morning, like 6 am or something.

And we won't make the Friday tourney but we should still get sufficient sleep via car shifts and sleeping at the hotel. Besides, Saturday will be a cake walk. All I have to worry about is Sunday :p
