The talk of picking up games or dropping games or games being dead or not dead is ****ing stupid (with the notable exception of calling Melee dead to troll Neil). Just play whatever you feel like playing at any given time. There's no reason to pretend we are some sort of dedicated "scene" rather than a bunch of people who like to get together and play games, from GG to Jenga to Baby Olympics.

I agree with Steven for the most part. It's great to just get together and play random games. We have fun, and it happens quite often. But for a lot of games, namely fighting games, it's impossible to just pick up and play like you would with mario party. Fighting games require dedication, and I'm sure a lot of us, myself included, would feel gypped to put in that time, only to have no one to play with. That's why people don't want to play games unless there's a "scene." Of course, what designates a scene isn't really properly recognized. Walker will only play a game if money can be won, but I personally feel that a scene can be created just by a couple people getting interested in a game. Much like how Nolan and I are trying to get more interest in guilty gear; or like Steven, Patrick, and I are playing street fighter. Hopefully, with time, more and more people will try to pick up these games, and the amount of fun we have will grow. But it seems like too many people just don't care to play anything other than the games they're playing now (Neil). I don't even know what my point is anymore, but basically you can't have a scene for a game unless you make it. So for those of you crying "I don't want to play [insert game] because it's dead!" Shut the **** up and play that game, because you're the reason it isn't thriving.

Actually, I think I contradicted myself in that paragraph, but I don't care. Take it or leave it.

And everyone should try to pick up a fighting game, namely the brawlers who have never touched a fighting game in their life. Why? So that when the rest of us are playing that brand new fighter, you can join in too!

Also, with games like GG you have to have a scene to play it. On the other hand with a (hopefully) improved netcode for SSF4 you can play loads of different people. It's just an all around better deal.
