eeh, i'm not huge on gray fox. snake already is a jarring character to put in smash next to the rather colourful cast it already has - the only character i think that could possibly sneak in is Otacon. heh.
i think we should all keep in mind we should want to see clones of characters who haven't been cloned yet. PMBR did an amazing job building mewtwo up from lucario, to the point where their nB moves are the only similarity they have. for example, I'd like to see Lyndis based off of ZSSamus, Sami Based off of Snake, knuckles off sonic ect.
don't hate me for that. I'd actually find Knuckles pretty neat in this. sega's got a long, looooong history with nintendo (when they're not killing valkyria chronicles+ other games in the west) PARTICULARLY with the sonic series, and really Knuckles is probably the least offensive of the cast.
actually, regarding the Andy vs. Sami arguement, I prefer Sami because really, there is no "main protagonist" in the advanced wars series. In the first game the first orange star CO you are in regular contact through the tutorial is actually Nell - way before Andy starts wondering what an airport is. Orange Star collectively should be considered the series' main protagonists (sans Days of Ruin), though (personally) Andy has always been the CO I've least wanted to use. Sami's infantry focus and even Max's direct combat focus is just always more interesting to utilize than a co who neither buffs or debuffs his unit's base stats, and who's power and gimmick is simply restoring HP to his units across the field (+ a buff). wrenches. I guess he just feels too "training wheels"-ey for me as character.
so yeah,
Lyndis
Sami
Dixie Kong
Takamaru/Dark Samus (IT'S JUST EASIER THAN RIDLEY...)
and Isaac
that's my Ideal use of the 5 clone engine slots left.
