Also, when was the last japan exclusive direct? And what was announced?

Not gonna lie; Pac-man's reveal was odd to say the least. But despite being revealed as part of E3 it's not as though we knew about Pac-man any sooner then the Japanese did. More importantly it wasn't a direct, so my point about historical precedence still stands.

I am still not expecting a newcomer, hopefully I am proven wrong an a few hours.

Smashbros.com is wonky atm so they are probably adding Shulk to the character page while the direct is going on. I am guessing a 2nd character is going to be revealed at the end.

So uh... welcome to Smash Bros, Shulk. Gotta say though, if his artwork and model are the same as they were in the leak, he really doesn't look as good aesthetically as most of the other characters in the 3DS version at least.

So the leak is real, then. I agree with his model, it doesn't look very... different. Looks like Marth and Link's faces combined, and his promo art looks like Little Mac photoshop.

But he still looks awesome and unique! Really glad how different characters like Shulk and Robin are.
