Ness does have good out of shield options though, I also think nair needs to get used alot more.
I changed my playstyle alot in the last weeks, especially using shorthops alot more and more nairs.

I also don't know why ness players aren't making use of the platforms on smashville and lylat more often.(platform cancelling or faking and inputting a slide downsmash but w/e)
Lylat scares the crap out of me. I hate being offstage on Lylat.

I would highly recommend Lylat as a CP for Ness, but only if you get comfortable offstage on it. The actual stage portion of it is really good for Ness imo.

Just wait until smash 4 and Ness becomes really good.

Im really hoping Bowser is Top Tier somehow.
I'm probably not using Ness in Smash 4. The only character I main in more than one game is Kirby.

Actually, now that I think about it, the only character that I use across all smash games is Jigglypuff.

I use Yoshi and Mario in every smash game, and Bowser in every smash game besides 64 (for obvious reasons).

Only character I use that I didnt use before was Luigi; I only use him in Brawl, and its just cuz he felt too slippery for my tastes in Melee and in 64 he was awful lol.

However, my favorite character of all is Ivy, but I dont like how Im forced to use Zard and Squirts in order to play her, so I dont in tournament. However, I use her all the time on hacked Wiis that have force switch off, and she's my main in Project M.

I try to make it a point to use the same characters in every Smash game.

But it never pans out and I always main a different character. The only character I've consistently played is Marth.

I have -some- overlap, but it's not intentional. I play the characters I like from the series I like, but I mean I'm not enough of a fanboy to use Ness and Kirby in melee. I go ICs/Luigi and am trying to pick up Puff and Falcon.

64 I only use Kirby, Puff, and Fox.

Brawl I use Ness, Kirby, Jiggs, Pika, Zelda, Peach, Lucas, and D3.

Next Smash game I guess I'll see who's actually fun to use and go with that.

Ness has fit my playstyle perfectly in all three games, Lucas has for the short time he's been in the series. It'd take some serious revamps to stop me using those two and even then, i'd probably still love them as characters and at the very least use them in friendlies. ;)

Also, MK is a -1. If he gets us off-stage it's bad but it's actually hard for him to do that. He has to actually think about what to do vs. Ness and our Fair and Nair do wonders in this MU. Ness is definitely in the top 10 against MK.

Now to pull out my ace card, Yink agrees with me on this one. :p

if the mk knows how to play calmly and knows the MU, this is a -2 D: ... but most don't know how to play against Ness, unless you're constantly playing against them xD

and ness shouldn't be in the top-ten against mk, "pika, IC, Olimar, fox falco and wolf, zss, yoshi, marf, diddy snake" should better ...don't know what the current MU-chart says about these ... Ness could be the 12. best against him

and it's never like easy to get Ness offstage (not including marf xD), but mk is one of the chars, who can get us easier offstage as others ... not easy but easier

Ness has a variety of options to keep MK away, coming back isn't too hard with Fair and if the MK is too slow with gimping they eat a PKT2. PK Fire beats everything 100%, Fair spaced right beats everything 100% PKT1 beats all but the nado which isn't as effective being beaten by Fair and well spaced Bairs at the top.

And when MK hits us offstage it's usually following the Dsmash which sends us upwards making it easier to descend with PK fire or a PK jump

I used to think MK was a -1, but then I realized that fair is overrated.

But he can't get us off-stage that easy. I mean, we actually have walls to keep him out. He actually has to mind-game it to get past, whether you do a retreating Fair or a Nair or a forward Fair or go for a grab or whatever.

Yeah, mostly, except his sweet-spotted shuttle loop will beat out PK fire.

To be honest, MK is one of those MUs that's meant to be bad on paper but doesn't actually work out that way so often. We make a lot of things MK can usually do a lot harder but when he does get in we're suddenly a lot less effective. His pressure game on us off-stage is buggy and annoying but our top players over the past have proven that Ness off-stage isn't actually that crippling a factor.

I used to think MK was a -1, but then I realized that fair is overrated.
It is a little but not too much. It's definitely a genuinely great move. Ness' aerial moveset and grabs are actually really great. He gets a bit more crippled in his ground game where Dsmash is rarely used, Fsmash is slow and Usmash can be punished pretty badly if it fails.

I dunno, that's how i see it, especially when it's applied to his nice mobility.

Yes, the new design is a little... odd at first glance, isn't it?

Well i'm open to the concept, i'm sure it'll just take some getting used to. ^_^

I love the liking system! :D

And PK flash is amazing to throw out against some characters. Love, love, love this move to bits sometimes.

There was a lot more posting going on like a week ago but as of right now no one really has anything to say and I'm sure not an interesting enough person to start conversation

I have an interesting conversation we can have. We can talk about how atrocious and ugly green Ness looks and how it makes me want to rip my eyeballs out of my face.
