So is the 'fun' of competitive pokemon the out of tournament play? I dont want to grind tbh, i just want to hack my game and get the lineup i want and go crush kids at tournaments (or just casual players that won't know whats going on.)

Pokemon has tons of random stuff - flinching, paralyzation, confusion, etc. You just live with it.

Also, keith, you should come to ncsu this week while I'm still amicable towards brawl.

Me, Austin, Trey. I guess we don't play there as much anymore though.

My memories of the last time i played friendlies at state were Me, Killer, Foxy, Flamingo, all playing MK. Fritz played diddy. Oh and keith played MK too.

That was actually mostly serious. Last I heard, Scizor was the best pokemon in OU.

But I don't really know any thing about pokemon. It's probably all mindgames and randomness though, so you'll like it. Memorize that type chart. :teach:

@Stockfield: Breloom is baller. He's pretty much guarantees a win against someone who isn't already prepared to fight against him. I like to run him in Trick Room set ups :)
Yeah I love breloom. All you have to do is have him have poison heal, and have hold poison orb, he will restore 1/8 of his health every turn. He uses spore and then uses substitute and then uses focus punch. Even if they wake up then the substitute takes the hit and focus punch hits which is awesome. Great pokemon.

Keith the point of competitive play is that it has enough depth to not be easily picked up. Asking someone to teach you a competitive game is asking quite a lot more than you'd think, and it is way more of a commitment than most people want to take on.

Competitive pokemon is really just a lot of prediction, AFAIK. No way to get good at it other than practicing and reading. Once you have all your basics down like the type chart, EVs, IVs, Natures, Abilities, etc.

Also someone teach me Brawl. When is the proper time to camp?

When you're in the lead, just like every other game ever made.

Watch Japan they're crazy

Man, that match really heated up at 3:55, near-exactly halfway through the match and both players had only lost their first stock. That's just before my attention span gave up on this video though.

It was cool how Dedede walked everywhere though. Until the first time he dashed and he tripped. D:
