keith, i looked at the airship's doubles rules and they said that we can use ubers. so you pick three ubers and i'll pick three ubers and we can ****. i'm going to soft reset for a good nature and iv kyogre and mewtwo when i'm further in my game. singles we cannot use ubers however.

My team at the moment: tyranitar, infernape, empolean, gengar, salamance, and breloom though I might switch him for a better pokemon don't know yet.

@Keith. IV's are random values attributed to each stat at the birth of the Pokemon, ranging from 1 to 32 (or something like that). I don't remember how it exactly works, but I know that you can test for IV's using Rare Candies and there is some system of inheritance so that it's not TOTALLY random (it still takes... way too long). The closer to max, the better for your final stats. I never cared about this, because I play in online leagues where you can just set the values however you want. Also, IV's determine what type Hidden Power (attack) is when your Pokemon uses it.

I don't even know if I want to participate if Ubers are allowed. So everyone will have like... Blissey, Skarmory, 3 Ubers, and some random OU... fun stuff.

A pokemon caught in the wild has completely random IVs. A pokemon bred will have either their mother or father's IV randomly for each stat.

IVs range from 1-32 and the higher the number the more stats they will add as you level up. I don't remember exactly how many points they correlate to, but I think it's around 2 points for each IV. So 32 will give you like 64 more of a stat by level 100. I'm not sure, though. I think you can download a calculator from smogon. The way it works is you put in the pokemon's stats when it hatches, level it with rare candies for like 10 levels (so you get no evs) and then put in the new stats. The calculator will tell you what the pokemon's IVs are.

There's a link mode that automatically levels up your pokemon to level 100. So if you can do that, it takes so much less time.


I would go to one of these pokemon tournaments but I don't want to stat-grind. Hatching eggs was only good with Pokemon Stadium 2.
