People are always whining about NASA's budget and spending. To some it's probably a waste, but people should keep in mind the resources on earth aren't unlimited. Pretty soon(though undoubtedly a long ways from now) the earth will be depleted. It'd be foolish not to try to advance ourselves as a civilization and assume we'll be able to use this planet forever.

This kind of thread makes me cringe. I now understand why it's mentally healthier not to visit the PRoom more than once or twice a year.

The crash was hardly spectacular, so I'm going to guess that not much, if any, damage was done.
There are numerous reasons to find water on the moon, the most obvious being that it would be very useful to use if we were to create a colony there.
There are also reasons that we think there maybe water on the moon. What if there were ice from comets stuck in the always shadowed craters? Water can also be formed from the condensation of water particles after oxygen is freed from the soil and combines with the solar wind particles (to form the water particles).

All this I'm getting from my sources, however. Tell me if I'm wrong.

I looked into the sky Friday while I was walking to school, but it was too cloudy to see anything.

Sound doesn't travel in space, so an ultrasound would not work. :ohwell:

correct me if I'm wrong lol
oh yeah. light is the only type of wave that can travel w/o atmosphere iirc. its still idiotic to bomb the moon. its not like they gave us weapons of mass destruction threats.

Electromagnetic waves travel through any medium (including no atmosphere). Light waves are just one subset of electromagnetic waves.

It's the United States, what else do they know?
 That is so not true! We definitely know how to....uh...., how to, uh...do drugs?

Seriously, though, we Americans like blowing **** up. 79 Million is a small price to pay, as long as we get a really good explosion.

I'm honestly more excited about finding how much Helium 3 on the moon to be honest. Then once we find Helium 3, we can make Nuclear Fusion reactors that will fuel.....

The BIG ZAM.

In all seriousness, if all we find is just hydrogen on the moon, we can make water. 1 molecule of water is 2 Hydrogen and 1 Oxygen. Then again, with water we get water, Oxygen and Hydrogen. Water and oxygen are for obvious reasons and Hydrogen can be used for Fuel Cells and nuclear Fission.
