I'm about as good at Brawl as you are at Melee.

So...I could ask you the same question, in a different way.
Maybe I'll answer yours if you answer mine. Why do you play melee if you're mediocre at it?

That was one of the most moving little things I've ever seen typed on smashboards in a long while. I can feel the desire in "chase jeff with me" and the pain of realizing the daunting task before him "we'll get him someday, someday...." That was really good. ****.

Yeah, but seriously P, I always wanted to talk Smash History with you. You seem to just know it, and it's always a fun subject of conversation for me because I love learning about the old rivalries.

LoL, I didn't mean that to offend.
I'm just saying he's about as good at melee as I am at brawl, so if he says I'm mediocre at Brawl, then what would that mean about his Melee skills?

If I quit Melee to play Brawl, and I still do play brawl, it could be said that I don't play to be the best.

I only play to be my best self. In melee, I have accomplished that. In Brawl, I have not.
So it's not about fame, or money, or respect. Those are just indications of my success, that I enjoy only because they reflect to me what I have accomplished.

What it's all really about is reaching my own ceilings, and being as good as I can be.

i like why HugS plays, to get as good as he can and not better than everyone else

but i still play to TRY to be able to compete with everyone else
and i take pride in doin it with fat ol lil italian doc

i wont quit until i knock jeff out in tournament though
so i mite b playing for a long *** time
or he'll quit before i can beat him which would make me cry

hee hee. I think i played P at this first tourney at DSF's garage. Maybe it was the second. i just remember that day was the finals of the World Cup. I barely beat him with a lame *** counter pick, IC's vs. his sheik.

A few months later i play him in friendlies and i get my *** handed. And i was like, "wha?" lol.

But he was nice about it.

Edit: that was also the tournament i found out that the IC's infinite was occasionally banned, and not just frowned upon. I felt so ashamed and guilty. lol
