So should I start campaigning for Brak really hard now or is it too late?

I don't want to start doomsdaying just yet. I remember we thought the game would get quietly cancelled after the beta ended.
Zaslav is a very shut down happy little rascal but I'd hope they'd at least understand a little bit that buying out PFG is part of why they lost all that money.

I think this game has one last shot at life - they need to release it on the Switch 2 as early as possible, and pray that Nintendo fans are interested in a free to play Smash clone

At the very least, the game still shows up in the TOP 15 PSN most played. I think the revenue must be a loss due to acquiring PFG?

I'm fairly optimistic, i think we still have a year to let the studio recoup their gains. If they let SS shamble like a zombie for god knows how many seasons, i think MVS should also get that benefit, especially cause at the very least it has an unique niche.

I'll be so mad if this gets shutdown before Suicide Squad. That game has less players and this one is not that dead, i can find matches quickly all the time.

I didn't even know Suicide Squad was still going, I thought that had shut down by now.

Damn, we might just make it after all.

Next Into the Verse is Monday at 10 am PT.

Apart from Raven, AJAX is teasing gameplay changes:

Falling? Faster
Hops? Shorter
Hitboxes? Overhaul
Movement? Smiling Imp Emoji

Also being talked about are Arena Mode and how Battle Passes are changing.

Unrelated to MVS but I'm the report they list the big four game franchises they see as money makers as Batman \ DC, Potter, Mortal Kombat.. and Game of Thrones? Has there even been in a new GoT game inn the last 5 years lmao

A lot of GoT games are mobile games.
In terms of a console game, I think the Telltale game was the last one.

Welp, lmao! Better get the patch right. I wouldn't even be surprised if these "financial failure" news were as grim as hyped up to be, PFG DID waste time second guessing and going back on fundamental core decisions for MVS to lazily try and mimic more successful games. It always reeked of last second desperate attempts to recuperate losses... maybe that's why they stopped being as stubborn as they normally were.

It just feels like a last ditch effort without a real plan to get players spending. But whatever, we'll have to see if this new "get a high quality dlc character for FREE!" system is sustainable.
Makes this message and recent trend of concern from me way more ironic, not just me being needlessly paranoid.

They're not going to kill the game because they put shields in for a weekend, dude. Get real.

I'll be blunt: as much as I'd like to be wrong, I don't think the game will reach season seven. I think season six will be the final season, as that's the one that lines up with early April/late March, which is usually the end of the fiscal year for game companies and also when they announced the shutdown of the beta. I absolutely think this revelation is a major death flag for the game.

With that, my prediction for the final two seasons is as follows:

Season 5: Wicked Witch and Aquaman, with the stages being Cat Concerto and the Riverboat.

Season 6: Scooby-Doo and Daffy Duck, with the stages being Wabbit Season and Coyote Canyon.

The stages could be mixed around admittedly, but I definitely think those four are the most likely, with the sole potential exception being that Cat Concerto is passed over for Camp Crystal Lake. Both of those are at similar development stages.

And if there really are only four characters left and the game ends with season six, those are at least a banger set of four characters to end the game with.
I could see it going for a bit longer is some content is near completion and WB just let them release stuff even with a small team. But yeah, I agree that this is a very bad look for the game, and I don't think new characters or even monetisation change can save the game at this point because the reputation is already made and hard to save at this point.

That wasn't the point I was making lol. Regardless shields are **** and aren't gonna bring back players either!!! They used to be firm on not putting things like that into the game up until now. They're just throwing whatever at a wall and hoping it sticks considering they wasted resources on game changing mechanics rather than listening and fixing actual issues first lmao.

IGN left out some stuff that Warner said in the article that Digital Trends noted in their article, not sure where either of these companies got the information or when the interview was made but some of this makes it seem like MVS isn’t going anywhere #MultiVersus

Also, it seems as though the HP Quidditch game that came out in September also contributed to the $100 million loss if this article is to be believed.

To be fair the aquisition was months ago, so they could always change their mind, and the focus on existing ip doesn't 100% mean that Multiversus is safe.

No but compared to the embarrasment that was Suicide Squad and that's still limping along, MVS who at the very least had a very dedicated community should be fine. Plus again, unique niche. SSQ is another looter shooter, MVS is a platform fighter with a casual appeal and other than maybe licensing it doesn't seem to take a lot of money to make right? Outside of localization.

Call me a hopeless optimist but i think we'll be fine. SSQ was probably concord levels of bad and it WB still hasn't pulled the plug, i have no clue why.

We’ll be fine. We have enough character data as it is to rollover to Season 6 or 7 imo

There's almost no chance of this honestly. Daffy had barely any work done at the time of the relaunch when a few animations were found, to the point where he didn't even use the official internal numbering system. He was VERY early on in development. Meanwhile the Wicked Witch and Aquaman have been heavily worked on since the beta and have had their voice files in for a long time. They're almost certainly coming before Daffy. In fact, those two in particular are almost definitely the season five characters.

This...doesn't change anything. It's essentially just an ad hominem attack against IGN as a whole for...reporting on the earnings report.
doesn't change how IGN was showing off from their hubias after their M&L: Brothership review.

nothing, just that their ignorant.
A single reviewer disagreeing with you about a game you like doesn't make them ignorant, and it also doesn't delegitimize the entire site because they reported on news that you didn't like.

it'd tell it to their sonic was never good video in which they dissed on sonic than backtracked from it, i don't completely hate IGN but i don't like them when they tend to disagree with something i like or call it bad to make influence to people.

And, again, the entire outlet is not a monolith. You don't get to discredit the validity of a fact-checkable news report by using your subjective opinion about their editorialized reviews. It's a clear cut case of ad hominem to suggest that it somehow discredits very basic reporting.

You keep avoiding confronting that fact.

i get what you're saying about my opinions not being treated as fact, but you know they still made that video nonetheless.

As for the rest? can you please explain in short detail?

His point is that you're discrediting a whole article because you hate 1 video for a news outlet, and this make no sense. Said article even has a quote from WB president saying that the game underperformed. Even if you want to argue that IGN opinion are bad, this specific article isn't an opinion, they're just reporting what has been said about the game, end of story.

Quoth the Raven:

cachedImage.jpg

Raven will be a 3 day early access character on Nov 12 before becoming available through Fighter Road on Nov 15 (she will not be in either Battle Pass). Note that you can also use 6,000 leftover Fighter Currency for her if you don’t want to grind Fighter Road.

In other news, the person who made those well done Daffy Duck animations before getting hired to work on the game revealed today was their last day at PFG. I wish them luck in future endeavors.

Downsizing does not bode well for the game

Eh have they done themes? It's like they do themes when they just feel like it.

Season 2 didn't have a theme. Was 3 girl power? Only 1 and 4 had concrete themes honestly

Each season of the relaunch has had a theme, although I believe each theme is tied to a specific character:
1. Puns and Villainy (Joker, Jason, and Smith)
2. Back in Time (Samurai Jack)
3. Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice (PPG)
4. Midnight Misfits (Both characters) (Theme was revealed in a press release)

I wish them luck, and also am personally happy to have had them on the game since they're using their Daffy animations and moveset concepts for the actual game, which is fantastic because it's literally exactly how I was hoping they would portray Daffy.
