It's not your fault but man, every time I hear the name now it pisses me off. We've known she's been in the files for two years at this point, there is absolutely, genuinely, no excuse as to why they kept pushing her back and pushing her back over and over. She's in the freaking comic for God's sake, it's almost hilarious if not sad.

I can't complain about this game's roster. Beta had Bugs, Taz, Finn, Jake, Steven, Garnet and Iron Giant, then several new additions were just them blasting through my most wanted list. Marvin, Samurai Jack, Powerpuff Girls, Raven. and Marceline.

I'm really sad they won't get to keep that going with Daffy and Dexter.

As for surprises, Jason and Beetlejuice were a lot of fun, I liked playing as LeBron more than I thought I would, and I flat out mourn the loss of Tom and Jerry because they are one of the most well designed characters in any plat fighter.

If they actually do have some more characters finished that they haven’t released, I wonder if anyone on the dev team is gonna anonymously leak their model and animations and stuff so the players can mod them back into the offline version.

Yesterday, I mentioned a concept starting roster for what would be a "WB Rivals" hero shooter. However, after thinking about it throughout the day, I think it'd be more fun if such a game were a different genre. Hero shooter was a no go as was a platform fighter. At first, I was thinking a 3D fighter, but after some thought, I realized it would probably be healthier if it were a kart racing game. Would be similar to Mario Kart and Disney Speedstorm, but with WB characters, plus better monetization (seriously, the Speedstorm monetization made Multiversus look tame). With that, I created a 40-character roster of characters I wanted to see, some from Multiversus, others from Lego Dimensions, and a few from projects that got into neither. There were 3 rules I followed:

1. Only 2 reps per franchise to start. DC was an exception mostly because of the main DC trio (there is no way WB leaves them out of a WB crossover).
2. Try to include characters from a variety of projects without leaning too much into one specific area (so not leaning too much into CN or HBO).
3. Include at least one character from a super modern show/movie (the tie in rep basically, it is a WB game after all, so naturally they'd want to promote something. It's like how Disney Speedstorm added Inside Out characters to coincide with Inside Out 2)

With that, here is the roster I came up with:

Very nice that they're giving new moves for Marvin and Morty when existing moves are on cooldown. As a Marvin main, this was a big problem because so many of his moves have cooldown and other characters with similar mechanics just had other attacks. Glad this is adressed. Overall, I've read pretty fast, but looks like there's a lot of very good change.

They said all content will be earnable by gameplay. So assume events happening in the season will give us these skins.

Also, although this doesn’t directly answer your question, they mention in the patch notes that there will be a Battle Pass Mission Bonus loot crate that can drop Gleamium, any of the other currencies, or a cosmetic from older seasons.

If the talks about WB wanting to buy the company out to continue development without Tony are true, I guess it's not impossible, but the closer it gets to the shutdown deadline they announced, the less probable it's going to seem. Even now, the idea mostly seems like wishful thinking.

No I think there's no chances. Microtransactions are cut off so even if player engagment come back, they can't make any money this season.

Maybe some day it's going to come back in some form (and I hope it would be a buy to play game), but with how the MVS brand is damaged (and arguably WB reputation as a whole after the failure of Suicide squad and other games), I don't think it's going to be back anytime soon.

Genuinely, I don't think it's impossible for us to get a few more fighters beforehand. If all this stuff was ready, in this solid of a state, they absolutely could (and should) use what time they have left to finish as many fighters as they can. If they love this game and it's playerbase like they say they do, it would be a love letter to the fans who stuck by them despite it all to do it.
