I'm currently with Salsa,

A reference to Happy Happy village?

Doubt it.

Their entire society (after chapter 3) really spoofs our own in many ways; being politically correct, our lives dictated by our litttle happy box, etc. It's an intelegent game within the stupidity sometimes.

Good luck with the chapter 3 boss. I hated that thing so much.
Kumatora kept dying on my and ran out of Beef Jerky to save her and time to use Lifeup. Once I started using her healing whenever my HP dipped below the 40 line, then it started to work better. Man, the tank was tough.

Right now I'm in chapter 5
On the highway right after getting anoter 16 hit combo on the Pork Trooper.

I've taken some screen captures on my playthrough in case anyone wants to look.

I have one Sprinting Bomb, and a big huge load of Beef Jerkies, but I used that along with two Thunder Bombs, but still no luck. I guess what I was doing wrong was trying to rely on "Brute Strength." Thanks, though, Looocas.

So where is everyone at? I'm at the very short chapter 6 soon to be 7.

@Sly Fox: I really struggled with Drago myself. As far as any boss battle in MOTHER 3, the best course of action is to use any specific items (Drago fang, DCMC Pamplet), then alternate between boosting stats and attacking. Also, try and keep your HP above 40. You should survive most hits at that point and will survive the death blow and win the battle.

Yeah, I heard there was a rare stick or something there that increases offense, but I didn't see it, as it only appears there sometimes, so I just exited.

I'm new to this game, and I guess I should have started playing the previous two games before I started this one. I hope nobody makes fun of me or anything... >_>

EDIT: Ah, thanks, A Man.

I'm at Chapter 4.

Everything is about on par on dificulty. The real difference is the fact that A) you don't get a recovery move or PSI till Kumatora in Chapter 2 (and then you loose it for a long while) and B) Bash attacks are a bit weaker, but you have combos. My advice is to try and master comboing.

I remember seeing that on the Starmen walkthrough. I didn't get it or a thunder bomb.

Is it just me, or was it weird when the Gay guy taught lucas PSI in the hot tub?

I'm on the beginning of chapter 5 training.

That was really strange. Not as strange as some of the glitches people have came up with. Things like the Magipsies swinging theirs in Flint's face, Claus getting naked to do a wall staple, etc.

I'm almost to NPC. I hate the guardian of the 6th needle. Need to get ground for that.

I found a way to skip a sub-boss if anyone is interesting in knowing.

I'm at the sub boss in chapter 5. Not quite ready for it and I need to do more training. That robot really packs a punch.

I've just about reached 10 hours of gameplay now, which is about how long it took me to beat Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga.

Foreign Junk Heap, Mr. Generator, or Lil Mrs. Marshmallow? There are tons of robots in this chapter.

Mr Generator. The first try against him I failed. I just need to rise my parties level a few times and then I should be ready. I'm not sure what level i'm at but its somewhere between 27-29.

Since Boney can't do much during the match because he'll just get hurt if he attacks and he dosn't have any specials, I would give him health items to save any dying party members since he goes first. The first round I offense up with lucas and Defense down the enemy with Duster and Kumatora. Then I just fire PSI rockin, PK Freeze, Dusters Specials, and I heal with boney. You can't leave the building so I can't get anymore saltwater guns or bombs for boney to use.

Go back to King P's toyroom and buy some Rubber raincoats and Saltwater guns. Saltwater guns do about 200 damage a pop and rubber raincoats minimizes his PSI to about 20 damage. All you have to worry about then is him doing damage to Boney (which will probably the one carying the saltwater guns)

Also, Mr. Generator is the final boss of Chapter 5.

I'm sure about the raincoats, though Saltwater guns are common enough that you may not even need to buy them.

Good luck with generator. Once you beat him, your practically at chapter 7.

I GOT THE PATCH!!!! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 1 ****ING year!!!! YEAAAAAH!!

Sorry. I was just too excited. I have been waiting forever to play this game. One thing I don't get though.

On the translation website, it said that Brawl was supposed to have spoilers, so they created an incomplete patch. I don't understand how Brawl could've spoiled Mother 3 and how an incomplete patch would fix that problem.

Actually, the main points of the story are revealed in brawl (Pokey leading the Pigmasks, Hinawa dying, etc.).

Yeah. That is probably the central event in the entire story, so thats why.

Don't forget the menu patch was out long before brawl. They didn't know exactly what was gonna be spoiled, just something was gonna be so.

Man, am I active on this topic...

I have found that using offense down makes boss battles much much easier. I always hit them with it 3 times as well as one defense down(the bosses tend to have much higher offenses than defenses, so I feel that it is a waste of time to lower their defense 3 times). I beat Mr. Genetor with no items at level 27 by using that strategy.

I've played the first 30 minuets of the game and I'm really impressed so far. The production values feel really high, the sprites and animations are all very well down and the music is top notch.

Yeah, the generator boss wasn't too hard. Most of the time if I fail once I beat it the next time. I didn't see any saltwater guns in the shop but i did see the raincoats, that was enough to beat him.

I beat the game, and man it is hard, at least until Lucas hits level 50. Feels like Duster and Boney slowly lose their usefulness, especially Boney.

For some reason I ended up keeping all 7 mementos for the heck of it. Also I wish the ending was more then just the island in chaos and being told everyone was alright.

It's really important moves like that, especially with the 3rd and 5th needle guardians.

My strategy is always this:

I always make sure I have every PSI needed with lucas (especially true with the barier trio), then use a shield (or PSI Shield) with lucas on the first turn of every battle. Lucas then mainly layers on shields and Offence and Defence up omegas, healing when necesary. I also bash when I have nothing better to do.

Kumatora always starts with a defence or offence down (this really works with the barrier trio since they will waste turns getting it back up), then layers on PSI attacks, bashing whenever I need to heal.

Duster uses smoke bombs, scary mask, and tickle stick the first few turns, then bashing and items the rest.

Boney primaraly just bashes and uses items and shield snatcher (and sniff on the barrier trio).

Yeah, the generator boss wasn't too hard. Most of the time if I fail once I beat it the next time. I didn't see any saltwater guns in the shop but i did see the raincoats, that was enough to beat him.
Glad it turned out well. His PSI is deadly, though with the raincoats it's easy to brush off.

If you hit left and the end screen, you will learn the true fate of the island.

I spent a ton of time trying to get my team to level 60 before the 6th needle. That boss is tough without Ground and even tougher without Lifeup omega (which Lucas learns about lvl 50).

I actually find Duster and Boney to be about on par with the PSI users. For me, Boney is usually the only one attacking after a few turns and, being a combo person, Doing high damage is easier with Duster as well as being a great backup. Though you really can't replace the other two though...

I actually lost most of my mementos really quick mainly since Kumatora and Boney usually were the ones carying them (and they die kinda fast if unguarded). I didn't even get Iona's due to my inventory being full.

That's what I meant knowing they were alright.

Anyways, what I meant was, Boney's fragile and has weak attack power, and Duster's specials just rarely ever work anymore on the later bosses, but at least he has the shield snatcher if you get it, and he deals great damage and has the most HP.

I was underleveled most of the time I think, had to actually grind 2 levels because of the chapter 4 boss just owning me in two turns. Oh the pain I had with the volcano and the barrier trio. Almost every boss I've barely won.

The Ultimate Chimera being in the bathroom was awesome.

I getcha there. They are really fragile, hence why my mementos were used up rather quick.

I thought the volcano was actually the easiest suboss in the game. I just layerd on a shield, then a counter and bosted stats. Barrrier trio is tough, though in reality I didn't strugle with it as much as the masked man or Mecha-Gorrilla (I was really underleveled by then. Might not have been smart to use the warm coats).

I really only level grinded maybe 3 times; before mecha-gorrila, before masked man, and before Barrier trio. Nothing big, just so I can have an apropreate Shield omega to deal with them.

(I actually found one of the extra the glitches during the fight)

I actually haven't beaten it yet; I just know most of the plot. I'm right and the end of the All you can pee bathroom dungeon.
