Are you a rising freshman? If yes, welcome to CP.
If you aren't a rising freshman and you're older, then disregard the welcoming.

I won't play Brawl, as my friends and I play Melee. I don't even know where the Brawl community is in CP, that's how segregated we are. I do have quite a few friends that play Brawl completely uncompetitively, though.

Yeah umcp brawl is pretty non existent. Most people play melee on campus, but I still play brawl. There is one other dk main named Daisho who brawls too. I've had smashfests with people from laurel though. No idea the samus commutes so he stops by my place to brawl sometimes too.

I hear Dorchester is the place to go if you want good Brawl

But I have no idea if anyone is actually good or if they just play a lot with each other and claim to be the best etc etc
You know what I mean

Once upon a time Eric, whose tag escapes me at the moment, lived at Dorchester and he played with KORN a lot. Also his friend Tin was good too. Right now, most of Dorch isn't that good since the best player is Matt (no tag, as far as I know).
David (NoIDea) is hard to find.

There are (non-professional) Brawl tournaments hosted by various people during the year. One of which is my club, UMGSO where at least a few competent players show up. (If you can play an instrument well, you should join. I am being a shameless advertiser at the moment.)

The other is the Peach Bowl which is hosted by the residents of Bel Air dorm, but I don't know if they can host anymore due to an incident that I do not want to talk about.

Smash community on CP is pretty damn small

If any of you dudes need rides to Melee / Brawl tournaments feel free to hop over to the Melee CP thread
I'm not driving to any Brawl only tourneys though (unless you guys pay me >:3)

Heya, I'm a smasher who just moved from the midwest out to the university of MD College Park for grad school. I'd love to get some brawl in on a regular basis. Hopefully I'll be seeing some of you guys soon.

They both graduated (or were supposed to) last semester.

If you guys are trying to arrange a hang-out to play brawl, I'm in.

Just coordinate a hall to go to and we'll use their lounge. Pick a time/day that most are available and we in there.

I want to get the CP brawl scene going too. I have a nice lounge this year, and even my room is twice as big as last year so I can probably organize some weekly/bi-weekly smashfests.

Since I doubt playing Brawl would hurt my Melee skill at this point, I would play Brawl if some Brawl players would learn Melee. LOL. But they probably suck too much to give it a try.

Doesn't brawl hurt melee, but melee not really affect brawl playing. Anyway, I do feel like I would suck too much to try, plus I would use pichu soooo

Anyway, how do people feel about brawl on Thursdays?

It might work. Where do you live? Could you PM me your information pls? Thanks!

Also, I really only think M2K's Melee gets affected by Brawl. Lol. As long as I practice my tech skill once in a blue moon, I usually retain most of it.

Both games hurt each other if you try to play one right after another, but playing Brawl will get your Melee tech a little lazy (as well as a bad air dodging habit), and playing Melee will make you accidentally buffer shields in Brawl and stuff trying to LCancel.

Too bad Joegull is busy up in Baltimore, otherwise he'd come down more often.

Lol. I don't think I have to worry about getting Brawl habits (or trying to implement Melee tech into Brawl accidentally). All I have to do is pick Marth, press side-b a lot, grab rolls WITHOUT JCing (haha, easier tech) then u-throw and bait dumb airdodges, then finish them off with reverse dolphin slash to punish spotdodges. EZ.

No wait I don't need to play high level to win. I just pick a spammy character and camp for 8 minutes. :troll:

Marth's side b is highly SDI'able and punishable.

Yeah I only have 1 class on Thursdays and my first class on Friday is at 1 so we could brawl forever long and people can sleep over if they want, we have a futon and nice carpet in the room. I'll send everyone my info, Joe you should stop by whenever you come down too. Just text me to brawl and I'll see if anyone can come over.

I did notice MikeHaze not using side-b that much lately. 08 tactics for the loss.

Well, then I don't have to use the whole side-b combo. I can end it prematurely and just walk away from you laughingly while you sit in shield hoping your SDI got you close enough to me to shield grab. Then not even your Pidgeot will be able to make you feel less embarrassed.

Oh, and I probably won't be available for smash until 3 at the earliest.

Chivalruse's name is Joe as well lol? And that's funny because the Wc :wolf: Choice's name is Joe as well. When we converse we only call each other by our first name. Tis glorious.

What's Chival's full real name (Or the one he has listed on FB)? I could have him added and just not know it. Would be easier to add him so I can place a name to a face when I go to CP lol.
I'd say toon link is worse than Marth joe
Only reason that guy is high tier currently is so I have an even easier time in Mid tiers. Not that :toonlink: is hard in the first place, but less competition for the win :awesome:.

Next Thursday I have class only till 11 am. I'll head to CP if enough people get together (Like Noid, Luckay, Chris, Chivalruse, Snowballbob, etc...) for a smashfest. I'll play either game (And 64 if someone brought that :)), but I prefer brawl obviously. Still always looking to improve my Melee game though.

So Brawlfests Thursdays from 3 to 6 or 7 in my room sound good everyone? Chival can bring his gcube over for melee every now and then, but just brawl for today. Pretty sure Snowballbob and Chival want to come over today. I'll text David too, but it would be cool if you came over Joe.
