Let me first start off by saying that I too am a Sakura Fan (im the only person i know who uses her in the super series because thats all i play :laugh:)

But the poll you were talking about wasn't being led by Sakura and especially not by 50%. Actually, Dudley was leading that poll by like close to 75% when i last checked it on http://blog.capcom.com/

Anyway, here's hoping Sakura's will still be in it, in all glorious 3d :chuckle:
whenever you click poll archive it fails to show anything. lolll capcom failure again.

Je agree with Agony a 100%: les riots, barely making the series, giving up all our good players just doesn't make sense and has thus turned our team into a joke in the present day which was born out of a legend.

I'm not gonna point everything you've said over the course of your arrival that has stepped on peoples toes for you, but take a look at what Damax said as maybe a little piece of advice;

Now, you and Mystic Viper have the exact same opinion towards the Habs, but take a look at how you both presented it:

Je agree with Agony a 100%: les riots, barely making the series, giving up all our good players just doesn't make sense and has thus turned our team into a joke in the present day which was born out of a legend.
or

Agony said:
LOST ! Lmao, I'm so much a habs hater, I'm so happy flyers won. We won't hear about the habs for a while atleast.
Now which one of the two do you think a Habs fan (Read: Most people from Quebec) feels like punching in the face? It has nothing to do with what your opinion is, no one in this community forces people to NOT have their own opinion. But sometimes all that matters is in the way you express that opinion that really counts. If you want my actual opinion on the matter, Mystic Viper showed intellect and an actual strong argument towards his distaste towards the Canadiens, whereas you on the other hand just sounded like an internet douche just asking to get flamed (See: Vwins post telling you to GTFO of the country)

Montreal's sports team were never blessed with a lot of money to get/keep the good players. That's the only reason athletes leave Montreal. Either that or we became douches and kicked them out of the city cuz we hated them in the end. If anything, if they manage to keep the team the have this year, then we'll have a good chance at the cup. You can't have a winning team for more than 3-4 years in average. And the habs aren't the only team in the league to thirst for a cup, just check out the Leafs LOL. Habs aren't that bad.

-elle a certains partisans idiot;
-leur équipe n'a pas eu des succès flagrants malgré leur 24 coupes stanley;
-leurs joueurs ne sont pas à majorité de ta nationalité;

Nice post chet, but ill just correct a point here

It's true for all sports, except Hockey...Montreal is the richest team in the NHL. It's just that the town is not very attractive for many players. The taxes (half your salary goes to the government >.<), the language barrier, the hardcore fans (some players might get afraid of that) and the journalists are many reasons why some players simply do not want to play here.

Heck, even high profile Quebecers like Brière chose to not come here even though he was offered more money... I aint mad at the guy though, he chose the flyers so that he could play with his longtime buddies.

Also you can have a good team for more than 3-4 years, just look at Detroit... its just that you need to be good at developping talent instead of finding it elsewhere which is a thing that Montreal is trying to do now and I'm very happy about it.

Actually, Taxes here are not that high compared to other places. I dont have any examples on hand, but just take my word for it, if not, look it up yourself.

But I understand where everyone is comming from with their arguments. I think the best way to look at Canada's hockey teams is not inside the NHL, but looking at it during the Olympics. Sure its not exactly the same players but at least all the players on the canadian team have to come from canada, and theres none of this violence (in game and out side) that you see in the NHL.

Let's just wait for the Olympics this summer and truly see how Hockey really is in Canada, because as its been said before by many of you, the NHL is really just a business corporation out there to make money.

yeah I meant like, it's rare to see the same team winning playoffs more than 4, I was unclear on that.

Montreal was hurt badly when there was no salary cap. Every year it was "yeah well we'd like to keep this guy, but he's worth too much now", so the Expos suffered, the Habs suffered. As you said, if they manage to keep all the elements of this season together and discard the people that fail often, then we'll be set for success, but until then I won't believe that were rich. Maybe we are on paper, but with everything you just said with the taxes and all, it does make the Habs market value plummet when compared to the Rangers or something.

edit: nhl = corporation, true. and the habs power has been very limited in the past 15 years.

Oh you can believe that we are rich. We support financially the weaker markets so that they can stay alive. We have money to spend on more players its just that we dont have any takers. We had the money for Souray, but the reason why we didnt keep him is simply because he asked too much for his worth. Instead we tried to spend that cash on Briere but you know what happened...

Also we never had a big time player for a looooooong time. We always brought in some big names but they ended up playing bad here. Kovalev is the only one that did the job so far but he only plays when he feels like it.

On the other hand, we gave away a lot of players that we developped ourselves and they ended up playing real good. Were goin to drop Ryder this offseason and theres alot of chances that hes gonna **** in some other team.

Isn't that always the case?

EDIT: I'd like to take this moment to full out say that I don't like Hockeyas a sport but I do rather enjoy participating in these arguments on subjects relating to it from a historical, socio-economic standpoint.

Its funny how you just got flamed and pass on into another subject lol.

I've heard that its pretty good actually. The actor who plays the main character puts up a good act, effects were dope, etc. Its worth the 10$ to spend on rather than watching on PC.

I know, but if I go on it'll just be spam and flamming, which isn't what I want...Plus, I'm not here to make ennemies, but rather have fun.

I see...I guess I could go see it, but going alone is weird, all my friends are in my old city, so I would have to wait 2 more weeks to go see them and it's not sure they won't have seen the movie after 2 weeks, anyway I'll check on it. Thanks for the infos.
