That sounds kind of silly. I'm a smash player and I still regard that as my primary game. Why would I hold a fest for JUST SF4, especially with a bunch of smashers playing? Go to shoryuken.com, that's where the entire SF4 community is at; you'll find a lot of players there.

good read joel. i just got a wii and i was anxious to go on wifi. not anymore. 1-2 seconds lag!! thats rediculous, logically, wouldnt that make players perform worse offline? I guess it doesnt because tuns of players get good from just playing nthign but online.

Yes and no. If you actually play the same online as you do offline, you're done for. As I mentioned, it's a reading exercise more than anything else. It's interesting to note that even if you read someone correctly, there's a good chance you'll still mess up because your movement doesn't register. Honestly, if you want to actually WIN and get high ranks on the ladder, you're going to have to perfect online play, and use a character that can overcome the lag. For example, Mario is pretty poor to use online because sometimes your recovery won't work properly (dead), his reflector can't be used on reflex anymore because it comes out too slowly, and he's piss poor at punishing sidesteps and airdodges because his hitboxes don't last long enough.

If you're trying to improve, then losses don't mean anything to me. I only get upset about them if the opponent out-read me for the whole match; I don't give a **** if I lose against a GnW on Rainbow Cruise, losing my last stock at 20% due to lag while he was at ~120% (this happens very often), because in my mind I outplayed them and that's all that matters to me.

I've been playing online for the past week, and I wrote a blog about the experience thus far.

I came to the same conclusions when I tried to get back to playing online recently. There's a guy who mostly played online through his smash career, and, even though I'd mop the floor with him offline, he manages to beat me by spamming rolls and pulling off the stupidest things that I can't do anything about since my reaction time is higher. That's when I truly realized that winning online takes a whole other perspective on things.

To be honest, Wifi Brawl is an entirely different game, but it is still playable. Lag does prevent you from performing frame perfect inputs (i.e. Powershielding) but it is still possible to keep a steady flow, the only thing that is different is that you cannot be entirely reactive as a player, as only in that case will your game suffer much more than the next'. Frame traps online might not be viable offline, but that's part of the learning process, and once you get over that hurdle, it's pretty much like playing offline while having to watch out for different openings/forms of punishing and whatnot. Once you get comfortable with your tools in both environments, the only aspect you get to work on from thereafter is your reading skills, as you've pointed out; and its the greater diversity brought by Wifi that makes it such a valuable learning tool.

he is the best ganon in world you know
kage's ganon is much better
, and perhaps the best in WC
I disagree, Koskinator is probably by far way better than me in all matchups with Ganon in brawl.. he's Kage but in brawl lol... well maybe not.. I don't see enough warrior bull**** in his playstyle lol. I'll let him rep brawl Ganon. =P But my ganon is brawl is still funny =)

However in melee... I won't let anybody take the title.

honestly kage I still think your better than him but you didn't give your ganon more time , besides the guy plays online so he is getting a **** load of practice. I think you can still be good with ganon in brawl if you focused on him but you know your self better than him

and being the best ganon in melee and the 23 stock crew rapist makes you better that him by default even in brawl besides your everyones favorite smasher

EDIT: someone go to japan and teach them how to punish falco's side b
