I don't know where you got that tier list, Krew, but it's most certainly a personal, single-player-made tier list, since there isn't an official one. There's no JUS Back Room, after all.

And when it comes to the JUS playerbase, most of them are completely ********.

The tier list you posted was clearly made by someone who doesn't play with Ring Outs. Because Momotaro and Lenalee are the King and Queen of that, and their low positions on that tier list show how that wasn't considered. That's not unusual, since there plenty of players that ban the Ring Out in JUS. Those are, of course, complete scrubs, and they are surprisingly abundant. What you've posted is a scrub tier list. There are a lot of those.

As you can see here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=933199&topic=42260935
and here: http://www.gamespot.com/ds/action/jumpsuperstars2/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-41113825&pid=933199, tier lists for JUS vary with every player that posts them.

I could give you my own personal tier list and it would be at least as accurate as any other one you could find on Google. Except mine would be the definitive awesome version of pwnage truth, amirite?

Smashboards is a godsent, and the SBR is a brilliant idea. Those two elements are lacking in JUS, and it really makes the playerbase more scrubby than steel wool. The game is good. It needs a better community.
Wait... did I just describe Halo?

As for TF2, I am ALWAYS up for it. No interest in L4D, but I will play TF2 any time. Friend me on Steam. I'm Alopex there too.

You guys need to discover the marvel that is the versus of l4d. Theres nothing else quite like it.

The normal campaign mode is okay at best, but the true fun lies in the two team action.

Anyway, Bento, choked on me much?

You don't need a back room to get a tier list down. Probably nobody gives a **** about JUS. ***** just playin it cuz its got hokutos and ****s.

Not a back room specifically, but a collective discussion made by knowledgeable players. Tournaments don't make tier lists. That's why we have the Tier List thread and the Character Ranking thread separately. They complement each other, but they are not the same.
Even the Pokemon community understands the need for "the elite" when it comes to tier lists. Why do you think Smogon exists?

Why don't we go look at how useful the old "Official Tier List Discussion" thread was. It was complete and utter crap. And that's what you get when there's no elite playerbase to properly discuss stuff.

You sure as hell won't see a Tatsunoko VS Capcom scene here for the exact same reasons won't see a JUS scene here. Doesn't mean nobody cares about those games. Limited distribution is too big an obstacle to overcome.

And why did you even bother playing the original Smash Bros game at all? Why do you think Smash Bros as a series is so popular in the first place? What, you think Smash got the attention it got because of its fighting system? Bull ****. People play this series because of the Nintendo characters.
You can be certain that Smash Bros would NEVER have gotten this far if it had been released with random, generic characters.

So of COURSE people play JUS because of the manga characters. What kind of point was that?

But there is no point. Or at least no counter-point, you do seem pretty adamant about your own point. There is no debate. I honestly don't know what you're going on about here.

You don't need the SBR to get a tier list worth looking at. You need knowledgeable people, sure. You need discussions, sure. You don't need the SBR to get intelligent people to talk to each others. Arcadia can get top players to **** them numbers on match ups, crunch that **** into a tier list and people will take it for gospel. This is hardly anything to argue over, other than maybe the accuracy each methods of procuring tier lists hold, but it doesn't relate to what I said.

Even though I don't think it deserves it, TvC's on the next SBO lineup so it's definitely going to get looked at enough to be worth a tier list. JUS, not so much. A game's presentation, characters and appeal to fanboyism aren't as important to its viability in competition as the gameplay elements and its depth. Smash has both but I wouldn't be so sure of that for JUS.

Unless JUS has a crazy competitive scene in Japan. Otherwise, that's pretty much what you've been saying. This is because there is no debate.

That's precisely what I said in my post. The SBR is just a fancy way to organize the knowledgeable playerbase. You've pretty much repeated everything I said, so it's pretty clear that we agree on this. Your first comment made it seem like you belived a tier list could be achieved without a proper intelligent playerbase discussion.
The advantages of a "Back Room" is just that it facilitates organization. Which is why I said it's a brilliant idea. We agree it's not necessary, but it IS pretty dammn efficient.

It's true that SBO will end up making TvC more relevant internationally than it would end up being otherwise.

But SBO would never have JUS in it anyway, just like it wouldn't have Smash. It's strictly for traditional fighters. So that doesn't really say anything about JUS's viability.

Brawl's in a similar boat. Only Evo carries Brawl and no one gives a crap about Evo's Brawl, so that's hardly a point for Brawl's viability. If we're judging a game's merits based on how many circuits carry it, then Brawl's not looking too good right now. Smash in general isn't.
But that doesn't prevent Brawl from getting its deserved tourney scene.

If JUS released on a console, it would probably be in the same boat. Only console fighting games get any sort of recognition. For reasons that I don't fully understand.

JUS won't ever get a scene. I fully acknowledge that. But that isn't due to its gameplay. That's the debate here. Its gameplay is fine, the issues lay elsewhere. I could detail the true issues, but I don't think anyone here really cares.

I was wondering why no one was posting any Japanese Brawl matches here, good to see there's some of them floating around. Although I wish we could see a more varied collection... Guess I should do some more searches over at NicoNico.

Biggest Sore Loser
Brawl: Agony Krewman

Who threw his controller? And destroyed a Wii >.<

Most Johns/Johns the most.
Brawl: Zaf, Agony, Jer

Johns are overated nowadays, we can't talk anymore since everytime there will be someone saying ''Stop johning'' it's like everything we say to prove something it's a john, just quit it.

Said by the mighty johner himself =)

Biggest Sore Loser is Daisy Fan, easy. Guy scares me.
And nope, didn't play Quantum of Solace. All James Bond licenses after Goldeneye have been pretty subpar : (

For those who haven't seen it yet, there is a newly revised tier list out. Here is the url:

Personally I disagree with falco moving up. Otherwise the list seems pretty good. Olimar and Peach went up quite a bit, which I agree with. Yoshi is probably also too low, I think he belongs at least just under Lucas and maybe higher...

I agree with the falco move. Everyone is picking him up now.
He is the most used character in Ontario.
So many of my american friends are telling me about the amount of falco's appearing and the amount of people turning to falco.
Falco can destroy half of the cast. His lasers are ****.
I think he is deserving.

Yoshi should be the highest character in the F-Tier or even bottom of the E-tier.
He is sadly underlooked.
If elef can beat NOJ, then i think that is saying something about yoshi's potential.
Elef has proven yoshi is amazing, and that yoshi should go up. The only problem is,
we only have one Elef. And not enough people in north america repping yoshi like him.

Capt. Falcon seriously needs to move up now, its like an on going joke to keep him at the bottom. Ally wins tourneys with him, if anything ganon shoould be the bottom.

SS-tier is probably my favorite one.
