An hour drive... meh, maybe... So what, $17 per person if you're doing both events? Maybe $22 or even $27? $17 would be nice, personally, but I suck at Brawl, so what do I know? lol

Of all the tourneys you've been to OOS or anywhere the lowest you ever placed was 7th and it was the last Montage tourney. Besides that, you got 5th in CT, 3rd in Pittsburg, and 5th or maybe higher in MA/VA so NJ is highly offended by your response!!
@ dmbrandon: **** raising the prices for 4 possible Ohio people if there's a chance that even 5 NJ people won't enter cause of it. Seriously.
I don't have a problem paying $15 for singles but I know some people will definitely be sketchy about it after paying only $5 f-ing bucks for teams. If half the people that entered teams don't enter singles someone is getting Falcon punched so I'd say to keep it $10 bucks.

Learning the matchup matchup my ***, I freaking fair-ed from mistake instead of bair-ed that time you beat me causing me to lose from a suicide cause Falco sucks at recoving from a fair. I honestly still don't see you as hard and how in the hell do you learn a match-up after 1 day and don't say "It's Brawl" cause that won't work here.
M2K has only went to 2 tourney in NJ one which was Cheezit's and he split but lost to DM in winners. Inui mains someone completely different since then and many people including Spam/Atomsk/Yes! weren't there so you can't ask M2K for reference on NJ's skill.
So you lost to M2K, PC, Azen, Vidjo. How did you lose to Keitaro, Inui, Teh Spamerer, and dmbrandon then? Yeah, we suck right?
Btw, if I was actually practicing Falco I'd gladly mm you but I'm working on Falcon and he can't fight short characters well nor do I have much tourney experience with him so hellz no. If I work on Falco before the tourney I'll let you know.

we went last hit every match first set, second set i won 2-0, no mm all i hear is johns, lets see i fought inui and killed my self at 0 alot different then u accidentally bairing instead of fairing which u use as a john, and i beat him the other two times i didnt kill myself at 0, dm i lost the first two times i fought against cause mk is pretty ****ing broken specially when someone has alot more exp. then i do second two times i fought him i won and spam is good we had fun matches thats all ill say about spam, but besides that most of nj is incredibly inconsistent and overrate yourself u wanna talk about numbers where are your numbers at a local low cost tourney thats has like how many people, and mostly college kids that dont compete.

I think suiciding happens to each person at least once in a best of 5 "if not best of 3". I don't think we overate ourselves but I don't think we should be underated so easily. I know it's a different game but one of the first times Spam went OOS for Melee was in Pittsburgh and he got 3rd placed behind Chu and M2K. Even with how great I thought Spam was I didn't think he'd place that high.
I have to admit that NJ hasn't gone places recently but hopefully we will for the summer.

Oh, also, lol @ this. You act as if it was best of one. I won the first match. And I was at last stock 0 percent when I won the second match, so it was anyone's game.
Now that I'm not utterly crippled by Pit in singles anymore, a character that is flat-out countered by Game and Watch as far as I'm concerned, you're probably in for a surprise when you play me next time.
Btw, we're going to actually pay out to top 5 this time like Smashpocalypse does.

Anyways, the pot is going to be 55/25/10/5/2.5.
Which means if about 50 people enter, 1st still gets over 250 dollars, which is a large amount. 5th place will get a small amount. I think this a lot more fair for tournaments that aren't small.
If Magus brings his TV and Gamecube and there's interest, a side Melee tournament may happen.
The last time we faced, I killed myself at 0, then sd'd again at 35 and still got you to 1 stock at 81%. Then I two stocked you. Then you picked corneria, and did some bull**** GW crap to have to win.
The time before that, it went to the last hit on all three games.
The time before that, I beat you, 2-0 and one of them was a two stock. You hit a 9 on that match too.
I've never said anything negative about you, so don't come bearing arms at me. I don't MM this time around, because I don't have any money. lulz

Yes, I placed high but the people I used to play all the time were Inui, Lord Knight, Magus, and Atomsk. Lord Knight, Inui, and Atomsk all traveled OOS and Magus used to. I'd also occasionally get to play M2K and Ryoko.
Once I got to Rutgers I played Eazy, doyoung a good amount in first semester, and played tec0 between 2 days ~13 hours. At tournaments in NJ I would try to get as many matches with good people as I could. So, while I personally didn't travel OOS much I still had a lot of good player experience. The same does not necessarily hold true for all NJ Brawl players.
EDIT:
Don't you DARE compare this tournament to SPOC. Scar doesn't take money from the pot, does much more work to run the tournament, and runs it for a significantly superior game.Sadaharu Inui said:

Well I have to count you because 99% of my Sheik practice comes from you and that's why I **** Sheik. Which goes to show, that if I never lose to Sheik except M2K's when I can't wavedash out of shield and only had you for Sheik practice, that Sheik is a pretty awful character in Melee.Aww, Kashif counted me as good player experience.

LULZ i counted as good practice? but for brawl Exp. apparently texas was okay for inui, but we've played velocity barly, so its obvious we do have horrible exp. for OOS

. LOL j/k, but I played you a good amount and tech skill matters too. The biggest amount of practice I got was from LK who forced me to think about everything I do but you do count as practice. Sorry, the truth was bound to come out at some point. I had to let the community know.
