ICs don't really need to approach Puff that often, but they still need to be somewhat aggressive because otherwise, Puff can push ICs the side of the stage, which is problematic. I think the match-up boils down to ICs trying to shield camp a lot at a certain distance while throwing out the occasional smash/aerial/utilt/ice block/etc. to catch Puff off-guard. I personally only like to grab when I think the Puff will shield, but I still see other ICs players get grabs at other times.

Puff just needs a really good sense of how to position herself relative to ICs. Most Puffs I've played are pretty bad at zoning ICs, although Psychomidget is really good at it for no apparent reason.

He's good at a lot of things for no apparent reason though :D

also that matchup really is amazingly difficult. I feel like ICs can, on average, better punish a spacing mistake made by puff, but that puff can always threaten a rest any time ICs miss a grab/smash...and threaten to edgeguard nana if near the edge of the stage.

I think Nana blizzard is really unreliable against Puff in most circumstances. She can occupy this space above the blizzard in which she can safely retreat if she feels she can't safely approach or she can punish Nana, who is forced to be stationary and can't protect herself, if Popo moves a bit away from Nana or if Puff correctly reads whatever Popo chooses to do. Using blizzard usually feels like an invitation to potentially get hit or lose ground against Puff to me, although I can see it being useful near the edge or for quickly protecting yourself against a near-ground Puff.
