Nabe, what where you thinking with that gambit? Someone could have easily clarified if the recruits stay alive, and your gambit would have come crashing down.

What? If I'd known that to be the case, I wouldn't have done it, because I wouldn't have called for the shot of the at-that-point cleared town doc.

If you're telling the truth and not just screwing with people, then you kinda deserve the loss. You should have known EXACTLY what would happen with that sort of gambit.
No, I really don't think so.

The reason I chose Vinyl was that he was my top mafia choice, in line exactly with Ryu's suspicions D2. But with Pota thinking I was the mafia (if he was even town at all), I wanted something recent and concrete on Vinyl to make sure I didn't get chosen. I also wanted to ensure that Pota wasn't mafia.

I had a lot of reason IMO to be content with the idea that Pota would know what was going on:
@ Vinylic. Vinylic. for real though it will likely be xatres dying toNight as the clear and it'll be you me and nabe toMorrow in LyLo. Please come in with an open mind
A flat read on this post from a townie POV seems bizarre. It's like throwing your hands up in the air, saying, "Now, I know what it looks like, but I'm not mafia." The alternate town read is much more appealing; it's Pota making sure a mafia Vinyl doesn't try an NK. The flat read really only makes sense from a mafia's POV.

Here are the posts Vinyl made wherein he looked like a scumbag:
Is it that complicated for you guys to know he's indy and that scum wouldn't claim like that?
BS reasoning.
@ Jdietz43 Jdietz43

Let's end it.
Bringing a quick end to end-of-day discussion in which he is the point of discussion. (Retrospectively I also see that he was calling for an end to the day, thinking Ryu's recruit would die with Ryu and he would win. This falls in line with his prior post, saying he thought the cult recruit would die with the leader. At the time though, this wasn't part of my reasoning.)

So I decided I'd claim cult in a post to Vinyl with a nod to Potassium in the event Xatres died. I wrote post 4098 to encourage that outcome, and very slightly to make sure Xatres wasn't cult and that the mafia member didn't try to pull a Prisoner's Dilemma routine regardless of Xatres' alignment.

But I largely agreed with Potassium's idea that there had been no recruit. Post 4098 was really made because it would give me something quick and easy to base my cult claim on. Me: "Hey, look, this proves I'm scum!" But importantly, it also wouldn't (shouldn't) endanger me after the initial rush and reaction of reading it. Town member: "Wait... but why would the cult recruit ever start the cult leader wagon, or maintain it until the lynch?" I would be clearly not cult, and if the mafia responded, clearly not mafia.

This post at the start of D3 solidified my intention to go through with it. Vinyl was plainly waiting for someone to make a move, because he needed to play one of us against the other.

When I made the gambit, I tagged Potassium in a post entirely addressed to Vinyl. That seems to me like I'm hinting something is amiss, like a flash of the eyes to one person while solely talking to someone else.

tl;dr
I was sure that me and Pota were on the same page if he was town, and that he'd have an immediate aggressive reaction as mafia. I could not have anticipated that a town Potassium would vote for me within 20 minutes of reading my post, without the third player even seeing it.

Honestly, even with all that reasoning, I don't see how Potassium had any choice but to lynch you. Vinyl wouldn't even have to make a case against you at that point. He could have just said, "I'm town, gg," and there would be no more reason for debate. You closed the door on discussion completely by professing to be scum. It didn't matter how fast you got voted, you being lynched was a foregone conclusion.

And I'm pretty sure "Claiming Scum in LyLo" could be a new TCG card after this.

Kantrip jumped the gun on his vote.

He should have waited to see what Vinyl would have done in response incase it was a gambit.

Stop lynching me Nabe.

GJ Vinyl.

Btw I didn't get those tag notifications :c

Edit: Max cap is 7, correct? If so how does a 5 v 2 kingmaker sound? 1 townie is kingmaker and the rest is villagers + assassins?

Setup is 2x assassin 1x town kingmaker 4x villagers. Sending role PMs eventually today and at the same time, confirmation only counts via PM. Will check official player list when I get home or someone can be nice and post a complete playerlist, unless it's in Gheb's OP.

it's in Gheb's OP.

Late edit: You should skip the confirmation phase imo and just start as soon as all role PMs are sent out. Waiting for everybody to confirm will only drag out the start of the game unnecessarily.

Except the kingmaker making a decision is important and giving him at LEAST up till everyone confirms is a nice thing, but as soon as he does it'll start.

Sworddancer. is king! D1 begins! Deadline is 11:59 PM on 3/9.

Is 4 and a half days enough? I'm thinking mini logic so I think this should be fine.
