As much as I am excited for smash 4, some of these veteran fighters having the same movesets is kinda underwhelming. Don't get me wrong I understand not all characters need to change, but just seeing the same moves from brawl isn't getting me as hype as I originally was. I just hope Sakurai add's outfits to brawl like what he did for Wario.

I think the Wii Fit Stage works similar to Shadow Moses Island. Instead of a spotlight, if a character stands still the breathing circle shows up behind them. Pretty much telling you to move lol.

Why does Luigi look so low poly? Kirby is a perfect circle, but Luigi's nose and hat are really jagged.

Well frankly pretty much every character looks a bit jagged with a close up and Kirby would probably be easier to make less jagged looking due to how simple his appearance is.

Olimar's helmet is the same.

Kirby is rounder because he doesn't have a complicated shape. Olimar gets buttons and a whistle and more complicated limbs, etc. Luigi and Mario and so forth are the same.

But yeah, it's a little disappointing to compare how round Kirby is with the shape of other characters. I'm sure Jigglypuff will also be exceptionally round.

The Year of Luigi: How Luigi treat his fans...
I did this better.. Just saying... So I have to agree with everyone that downvoted this... Sorry...
1. The contrast between the text and the picture is bad.
2. The caption is bad as well as where you placed the caption.
3. I would have made this better but I went to go see a movie today: The Wolverine. It was awesome...

Anytime you guys want me to take over doing this again let me know. Otherwise you get my sidekick O'kaz A1. Either way this ain't gonna stop :troll:

BTW I remember my friend Jack sometimes would sacrifice winning the game just to see if he could KO me with Luigi's Down Taunt... Good times... Can't blame him though because I would sometimes sacrifice winning the game just to see if I could KO my opponent with Lucario's down special double team... Awesome picture of the day! Love that spike!

I made a similar post a while back with the pic of Olimar and DK.

Come to think of it, this post would be fitting if King Dedede was in the most recent pic instead of Kirby, but it would also be ironic given the events of the SSE. (sure Dedede turned Luigi into a trophy, but to keep him from getting stuck in Subspace and from having to deal with a large amount of Tabuu's minions)

Can someone tell me the origin of the island in the picture from August 6th?

I'm glad his down taunt spike is back. Pulling that off against my friends every once in a while provides ultimate lulz

That said, I hope his down B is the Poltergust and Sakurai gets rid of the Luigi Cyclone. Kinda like Mario and his FLUDD in Brawl.

I'm not a big fan on the poltergust blowing enemy's away because that would make Luigi even more of a clone to Mario. But if the poltergust maybe did another feature then that it could be original.

He grabs people with it! Oh god, that would be amazing.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that Kirby is being launched downwards? Were characters who were hanging off ledges automatically sent downward when smashed? I forget.

It kind of ticks me off too, especially knowing they just have to up the iterations by 1 on that TurboSmooth to make his model so much more fluid. Maybe they want to avoid lag or his model being heavy in data size, idk, but it's a bit of a shame.

yeah like I was about to say "Have you ever checked the official manga before saying that?"
Or played Metroid Prime 1-3 or Other M. Some Space Pirates were technically taller than Samus if their legs weren't always bent in battle.
So I misremembered. I was thinking of the Super Metroid guide that says she's six foot three. I didn't know it had been changed. And she seems tall in all those games except Other M. Anyway it doesn't matter. Especially since I was super wrong in the first place.

Wait, blowing people away? You mean sucking people in? Or you mean blow away after it sucks the opponent in? Either way, maybe its just better as a grab if that's the case. Or keep it out all together.

'Sup, guys? I've been lurking here since, like, when the SSB Dojo launched or something. Decided to finally actually bring something to the discussion.

Anyway, as a Luigi mainer, I don't see why people want to get rid of Luigi Cyclone. It's an amazing recovery move (one of the things that puts Luigi so far above Mario in my book), and since the removal of wavedashing, it's also been the best and pretty damn safe way to cover lots of ground quickly. Smashville, for example, is really easy for Luigi to control with this and fireballs. Just saying, it's one of the best situational utility moves in the game as it can change your positioning in the blink of an eye. Keep it in, Sakurai!

Welcome. And, as a Luigi main (in Brawl) myself, I understand that sentiment. It's simply that Luigi's Mansion is a thing and is popular, and, as such isn't as good a representation of his character as it used to be (i.e. 'the green Mario'). I would be torn since I wouldn't have those tools anymore, but I would still kind of praise Sakurai's inclusion of something from Luigi's Mansion from a character-creation standpoint.

Thanks!

It would make sense to put the Poltergust in, that's true. A new Mansion just came out as a big part of the "Year of Luigi", after all, and I guess recently released/announced games are high on Sakurai's reference list. I just have a really hard time imagining a way to make the Poltergust as effective as the Cyclone...

My ideal world would be one in which Luigi uses his Poltergust as his grab and keeping his other moves. However, I doubt that will happen.

You never know, air dodging might come back so we can finally enjoy wave dashing again. We already know tripping is out so we can dash dance safely.

Still trying to spot jagged edges on the characters...I can zoom in pretty far but I still aint seeing it. Would it be too much to ask for a pic with a bright red circle around the jaggs?

Big fan of wavedashing, it allows me to reposition my character if I'm shielding. It also allows me to land platforms and mixup my movement. It allows me to immediately get from ledge to stage while retaining invinicibility (depending on the character.) Wavedashing has so many awesome uses dude. If you have more options in a game, take 'em and use 'em to your advantage instead of shunning 'em! It makes for a deeper and more complex game. You also start getting a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment once you employ these tactics properly on the battlefield!

The only thing I have ever found a use with them was when you run at an opponent and backwards wave dash. Doesn't really help IMO but is fun to do. Anyways, I don't think wavedashing is gonna make it to the next game. Not saying it is a bad thing, but the air dodges look like Brawl's in this one 8 minute video. I forgot what vid though.
