I know that Smashers disdain Gamefaqs, but this was just too funny to pass up. Please enjoy this while waiting for the daily photo. (Credit to NintendoFan2000)
In order, with reveal style. This is in no way what I think will happen, just having a little fun with this narrative:
Falco (1) is revealed as a swerve, possibly on a date when an entirely unrelated veteran is expected.
Early February, Sakurai decides to celebrate Black History month by researching Ganondorf (2) and his history throughout the Zelda games to give him a new moveset.
Out of nowhere, Sakurai reveals Ice Climbers (3), possibly on Valentine's Day.
On March 31st, Sakurai promises an important reveal focused around Pokemon and Smash. The board anticipates Mewtwo. The next day, April 1st,Jigglypuff (4) is revealed.
Yoshi (5) is finally confirmed on Easter.
The news dries up throughout May. Eventually, at E3, Mewtwo (6) is suddenly revealed.
Sonic's 23rd anniversary is in late June. Sakurai shows his weird sense of humour by choosing that day to reveal Captain Falcon (7). He then delays the game for no other reason than to allow my story to continue.
After the delay, Sakurai realises he needs to placate the fans. He advises us all to look to the future. Then he gives us an example of somebody who always looks to the future by revealing Shulk (8).
Sakurai forgets to feed his cat after working on Smash 4 for too long. When he remembers, he reminds us all that taking care of your pets is important by confirming Pokemon Trainer (9)
Because he's weird, Sakurai wears a clove of garlic around his neck to stave off vampires on Halloween. This inspires him to reveal Wario (10).
For Thanksgiving, Sakurai reveals Diddy Kong (11) for no particular reason, and then delays the game again saying he wants to make a game we're all thankful for.
Christmas Day, 2014. Sakurai tweets on Christmas Eve about how he's been hiding something from us, with emphasis on hiding. Instead of a traditional character reveal, a present is put on the site. When you click on the box to open the present, Snake (12) is revealed!
Sakurai's 2015 New Year's resolution is to take the reveals more seriously. Like all New Year's Resolutions, it is abandoned about two weeks into January and he reveals Tingle (13).
On Valentine's Day, Sakurai spoils us all by revealing a sexy crouching pin-up of King Dedede (14).
Nothing in March, but on April Fool's Day, Sakurai reveals that he is having a hard time implementing a popularly requested character, and he doesn't believe he'll get it done. It goes over everyone's head that it's April 1st, and on April 2nd Ridley (15) is confirmed.
Sakurai realises that he forgot to confirm Meta-Knight (16) and promptly does so in early May, promising he'll be less broken. He also delays the game.
Sakurai sets a final date: the game will be out on New Year's Eve of 2015. With this announcement, the site gets a countdown timer hosted by Mr. Game and Watch (17)
On August 3rd, Sakurai's birthday, he decides to reveal ROB (18) because we've all robbed him of his youth.
By this point, the Star Wars 3D remakes have appeared in theaters. Sakurai commemorates the event by revealing Lucas (19).
In December, Sakurai posts a picture of the ENTIRE roster, with all the unrevealed newcomers blurred out with the promise that on New Year's Eve, they'll all be revealed. But he forgets to blur Wolf (20).
Then the game comes out and all the other newcomers I want are there so suck it
