Alright, alright. You guys all make some good points. I could root for Toad, Rosalina, Bowser Jr. or Paper Mario at this point, after having reading these very well thought out viewpoints and arguments. This one has been a real eye opener! After meditating on it for quite a while, I think I've come to a decision on who I'd like to see in the next game based on this debate.
In short, it is quite obvious who should join the SSB4 roster: :wolf:

:troll:
No Waluigi... yet Paper Mario and... Toad... after his death hammer?

I really need to get off the internet.

ALso yes. People want Waluigi more than Toad, Rosalina, Paper Mario, and Bowser Jr. combined. I thought those kinds of people only existed on Gamefaqs, but I should have known better.
It's funny though, bcuz out of all of those character, Waluigi was chosen to be the assist trophy in Brawl. I think that increases his chances. Besides Waluigi is like the Luigi to Wario's Mario nd you can't have one without the other am I right?

Waluigi for Smash 4. Bring it on baby! :-)

I would think if that were really true, they would have made Waluigi do ANYTHING that matters to the mario series at all.

Maybe they're mirroring Luigi and putting the spotlight on Wario while Waluigi sits and does nothing but sports games, and even Luigi gets an entire year dedicated to him, as well as his own series? Who knows.

Well Sakurai doesn't have control over the Mario series byt I'm sure if he did he would give Waluigi more recognition. I can see him adding him to the roster this time.

What did Luigi do for the Mario series before being made playable in Super Smash Bros. 64 that was oh-so important? Other than just show up as a color-swapped player 2... doesn't seem like much, dude.

EDIT: Meh, even with this all being said, I'm not so confident that Waluigi will just suddenly appear as a playable character in Smash 4. Not sure why, just don't realistically see it happening. :(

OH RIGHT. THE PICTURE.
Loving the redesign of the Ray Gun due to it really showing off a more Super Smash Bros. theme rather than a generic gun appearance.

Luigi was featured as a side character and playable alternative in several mainstream mario games, not necessarily just player 2. He also got his own subseries in Luigi's Mansion and its sequel.

That's okay, you are not the only one. Many are on the same page. Although I am on the side of "not seeing Toad as a playable character". It's just hard for me to picture him fighting.

I mean if someone can come up with some kind of moveset idea for him it would be pretty helpful

Eh, so am I. His body type seems like it'd make it pretty damn awkward to establish an actual moveset for him. But hey, Jigglypuff and Kirby managed just fine. (Though they have a lot of squash and stretch to their bodies, but still).

I'm really hoping to see some more (BIASED STATEMENT INCOMING) interesting veteran fighters show up soon. Wario, or Zelda/Sheik, or Jigglypuff even.

Also, I'm a chick, Morbid, heh.

The thing is Waluigi has only been in mario sports
Luigi has the "Mario and Lugi" series "Luigis Mansion"
Wario has Wario ware and Wario land

Waluigi is just as necasary as Daisy as they appear in all the same games

Daisy's actually in the Mario Land games on GameBoy, so technically she's more important.

Yep. And amazingly enough, she was given little to no attention in the Smash Bros. series. Saddening, really.
She was a pretty sufficiently different alt costume for Peach in Melee. Why they removed the extra details in Brawl I don't know.

^This

Also, Daisy while not a playable character, became part of Peach's swap palette since she would basically just be a clone. Waluigi on the other hand is unique and can easily be given a moveset just like Wario.

Waluigi was conceived to be antithesis of Luigi. He is necessary as he is the only Mario Brother not included as a playable character, this is not entirely significant; however, it is noteworthy. Daisy only has the luxury of being Luigi's *****, bros before hoes? In any event, Daisy is already playable in Smash as a pallet swap for Peach. The amount of appearances is irrelevant, Daisy might have appeared in the same games, but the intent of the character was vastly different. Waluigi has succeeded in maintaining Smash relevance (his role as an assist trophy). He is the perfect candidate for a party based move-set. In fact, he is the effigy of Mario Sports. This can include Mario Kart and Mario Party (like any other Mario character really). So he features the most predominant role as a party character. His move-set potential is unique as it can offer a vast array of Mario props (as he had the Mario Tennis Racket in Brawl). His model shape/size would also offer something quite different to the roster in my opinion.

Another thing that bothers me... why is it that Daisy, despite being JUST as reoccurring as Waluigi, is being shafted aside despite her rather important appearance in Super Mario Land? Sure, the game's quite outdated by this point, but it's shameful how Nintendo seems to forget so many of their characters. I mean, I don't care for Daisy much, if not at all, but she definitely deserves more than a freaking (as of late) half-assed color swap, trophy that DOESN'T EVEN PORTRAY HER CORRECTLY, and a sticker that also doesn't portray her correctly.

Look.
Luigi has a nose that is easy to model.
Waluigi and Wario don't.
The reason Wario wasn't in melee is because his nose would takes to long to model.
I declare this case solved :smash:

Probably because Super Mario Land is her only appearance and she was then shafted to spinoff sports and racing games forever.

I mean admittedly if Waluigi and Daisy BECAME more important I'd complain less, but they really aren't anything to write home about as it sits.

They had to work with what they had, man. Times were rough.
And they had so much more to work with in Brawl, and they made it work.

Waluigi is the final Nose stage. We have a fair amount of grinding to do before we would ever survive it as a community.

Pfft, so they didn't have the time or the tools needed to fully construct Wario's nose, yet they had the resources needed to fill in the color for GnW's character model.

Hah! That is laughable.

I don't think you fully understand the transdimensional nature of Wario's nose.

He actually makes the trollface in Brawl. Just noticed the other day. Had me ROFL.

Well that is a reaction I'm definetely not trying to get out of my trollies.
Well I could imitate my avatar if that helps anything, but that'd make it drastically more difficult to convince myself that I'm not crazy.
